Obama suffered last night from his lack of media scrutiny
George Romney was used to being protected by the press from the consequences of spontaneous comments; when he wasn’t, because he had entered into the realm of national politics, he was caught off guard and, soon enough, his candidacy collapsed.
Barack Obama has a similar problem. The mainstream media has been playing protective guard around him for the last five or six years. He has seldom faced tough questioning, having managed to avoid open press conferences (as I recall) since last June. And of course mainstream media is extremely unanxious to ask him embarrassing questions about a whole host of issues. To his credit, moderator Jim Lehrer didn’t zero in on these things but didn’t prevent the interaction between the candidates from raising such questions.
Obama suffered tonight from his lack of scrutiny from mainstream media. As I like to say, there is nothing free in politics, but there is some question about when you pay the price. In this first debate Obama paid the price for the hands-off treatment he has received from mainstream media.

This is a summary of the debate I found. Made by some Chinese group. Quite amusing.

I think we should move on to the next topic, Michael.

The country has suffered the past almost 4 years because of a lack of media scrutiny.
The failure of those alleging to be “The Press” to vet Obama properly back then is what haunts us today.
Not that McCain was any great candidate. The Republicans owe us big time for foisting him on us as their candidate.

How can anyone say that the media has been protecting him, when he’s faced such incredibly tough interviews on hard-hitting shows such as Entertainment Tonight and The View?

According to hillbuzz.org, dude has a big issue he’s keeping secret. That requires a lot of internal attention and effort, which would obviously interfere with putting enough attention on the job at hand.
Trust me, this is the new normal for SCOAMF.

I just don’t think he really wants to be President and I don’t think the Democratic Party wants a Democrat in the White House over the next four years considering what’s coming. This is a very subtle “throwing” of the race.
Anyone else notice that there is no major Democrat voter registration drive like there was in 2008? Dem registrations nationally are running at only 10% of the 2008 number. No major GOTV efforts with absentee ballots either. Anyone else notice these numbers that were posted over at Ace’s?

I don’t think the Democrats really want the White House this year.

This is true.
However, BO chose to remain cosseted. He could have made the proper choice which would have been to grant interviews without bias. He didn’t.
Speaking with opponents might have honed his skills. He didn’t reach out to Congress. He proceeded along with Pelosi and Reid running the show and hid behind Executive Orders.
He singled out Fox News as the enemy along with conservative commentators. Instead of engaging he retreated. He hid.
People prefer to say he’s “arrogant” and “aloof”, but that’s only a polite way to say that he is a coward.

Probably the donation fraud via the “gift cards” and foreign money.
Talk about a big scandal…I just wonder how/if the Media won’t finally turn after this one.

Isn’t it delicious?
The lamestream media, protecting their “anointed one”, are the cause of his demise.

Obama is the Frankenstein of affirmative action.
