Romney’s first 100 days
What would the combined effects of the new Republican revolution be? Some government agencies would probably become less wasteful, learning to do more with less, and the private sector would take over some government functions. But those would not be the only changes. The American economy would also devote fewer of its resources to the areas that do not naturally create opportunities for profit in a free market: mass transportation, road building, early-stage scientific research, many aspects of education and public safety.
Whether you love that idea or hate it, it certainly would be different. Around the world, the historical pattern has been for government to grow as a society becomes richer and citizens vote for more of the services that the market often does not provide by itself. Federal spending makes up 22 percent of the American economy today, up from 3 percent a century ago.
In an aging society coping with a globalized economy, where health care and education continue to grow more ambitious and expensive, the country has a choice to make. It can allow government to continue expanding. Or, as a Romney administration would, it can take a more laissez-faire path than any wealthy country has previously tried.

I’m more concerned about Obama’s last “100″ days as a lame duck than Romney’s first.

His first 10 days should include as many executive orders as it takes to undue Jugears’ executive legislating.
But it might be prudent to WIN THE ELECTION first.

I agree 100%! If bho does not win re-election, he will be he!! bent to do every nasty thing he can think of to ‘teach us a lesson’ for his loss? And I bet mo/jarrett will have a major hand in the krap he will do? Those two are far worse, IMO, getting bho to do what they want done?

Repeal and replace Obmacare with Romneycare.
He doesn’t even have to win the election for that to happen.

And after that society nears bankruptcy?

Chances are Rombama won’t overturn the executive order granting amnesty to young illegals.

Task for first day: open all windows, clear the stench Barry/Moochelle left in the residence.

It will probably take a month to take all the pictures of bho off the walls he has put up?

The market does not guarantee $100 trillion in play-money benefits either. But apparently government can do that too.

The New York Times’ plan for Romney:
Day One: Burn down all the bridges and let the roads go to Hell.
Day Two: Abolish all education.
Day Three: Destroy public health and safety….
Because, as all good Communists know, those are the ONLY parts of any government that can ever be cut.

..by “every nasty thing” I take it you mean stuff more evil than reprogramming the phones and swiping all the O’s t off the keyboards.
I wonder if it mightn’t be worthwhile — if not great fun — to launch a movement to have Obama relinquish his office so Romney can get busy?
Somewhere there were some serious articles by lefties about this back when Obama was still considered The Light Bringer instead of President Turdy-Pants. Seem to have lost ‘em.

Not this sh*t again.
NO country has EVER been as wealthy as the United States of America. And the USA did not get to that point because of government spending, it got there because of the hard work, industriousness, inventiveness, risk-taking, and just plain sweat of thousands and thousands of people who started and grew businesses, of visionaries who laid out towns and cities, of farmers and miners who tamed the land and made it abundant.
Everyone except the slaves came to these shores seeking a better life, religious freedom, and/or opportunity. We got the cream of the crop from all the other continents. We fought a horrible and bloody war to end slavery and bring equal opportunity to all.
We are not a people that want more safety and security in exchange for less prosperity. Barack Obama and his fellow “progressives” want to STOP real progess in this country and turn America into something that is indeed foreign to our origins. THIS is what has never been tried, and it has failed.

OH NO! NOT THAT! ANYTHING BUT THAT!
Red Cloud on August 27, 2012 at 3:10 PM
To be fair, even the slaves got a much better life in America than the one they left behind.
The only aspect of the West African slave trade that was more barbaric than most other forms of serfdom predominating the world at that time was the horrific practice of occasionally breaking up families.
But, even by that standard, the policies of the Democratic Party are far worse today than they were before the Civ1l War.
