“Because I criticized the President, it’s news? Last I checked, he’s President, not King!”
This Saturday night, Lovitz went live on Twitter to engage followers in an extended conversation about his political views, his taxes, his income, and the frenzy over his Obama criticism. He took fire from all sides with good grace and humor, and provided a link to newly-uploaded video of his January remarks with director Kevin Smith…

You’re right, Jon…..for now. Come 2016 if he wins reelection, all bets are off.
Doughboy on April 30, 2012 at 2:05 PM
There will be greater flexibility in this statement after the election.
BobMbx on April 30, 2012 at 2:05 PM
Oh Jon, you didn’t get the memo (royal decree)?
HomeoftheBrave on April 30, 2012 at 2:05 PM
He’s not a King, Jon, he’s a Communist. This is what they do.

They aren’t called “kings” in PBHO’s world, they’re known as a “Caliph”.

Yup…nailed it.

I’m surprised they haven’t attacked him for being Jewish yet.

Watch. Lovitz will start losing bookings.
Obama wants it known that there is a price for disloyalty, even made in jest.
victor82 on April 30, 2012 at 2:17 PM
HERESY.
This dude’s career is over, with that kind of profane blasphemy of liberal doctrine.
In the meantime, The Critic has been, and remains, one of the greatest animated shows for adults ever made.
MadisonConservative on April 30, 2012 at 2:17 PM
I know, aren’t liberals such hypocrites?
lorien1973 on April 30, 2012 at 2:18 PM
I did love this tweet from Lovitz in response to one person:
Dan The Man @HesDanTheMan 28 Apr 12
@realjonlovitz Really? The majority of celebrities I’ve seen on TV lately say they make a lot of money & they don’t mind paying a lil more.
Jon Lovitz @realjonlovitz
@HesDanTheMan I don’t mind paying a little more. I pay my fair share now. The President is lying to get votes..it’s obvious and transparent.
Doughboy on April 30, 2012 at 2:18 PM
Yeah…if only they’d actually had an ideological argument, rather than simply personally attacking Bush because it was “in”.
MadisonConservative on April 30, 2012 at 2:23 PM
I just wanna be loved
…Is that so wrong?
Ladysmith CulchaVulcha on April 30, 2012 at 2:23 PM

Dennis Miller was a liberal, then became a 9/11 conservative.
He said the problems he had with conservatives (when he was a liberal) were NOTHING like the hate he got from the left (once he became a 9/11 conservative).
I sympathize with Jon Lovitz. Hope he can handle it with the same style as Dennis.
HeatSeeker2011 on April 30, 2012 at 2:25 PM
All it would take are copies of their checks written to the federal government and they would be proven to be the upstanding people they claim to be.
Bishop on April 30, 2012 at 2:29 PM
Chose poorly.
a capella on April 30, 2012 at 2:29 PM
He may lose some bookings, but he’ll gain others. Miller still tours the country. Adam Corolla’s career is doing fine after those OWS rants. The key for Lovitz is can he continue to be funny(assuming he ever was post-Critic)?
Doughboy on April 30, 2012 at 2:31 PM
Jon you just extended your foot across the threshold from the twilight zone. Don’t look back. Trust me you won’t regret it.

It’s almost like they were crucifying him, or something.

Obama getting a question on spiking the football on CSPAN…
faraway on April 30, 2012 at 2:37 PM
… and he spikes it!
faraway on April 30, 2012 at 2:39 PM
Yeah, calling your fans “hicks” is usually such a great PR move. It’s clearly Bush’s fault that they didn’t like it this time.
Esthier on April 30, 2012 at 2:40 PM
He’s not actually switching over though, so I’m sure no one will care about this in a few days unless he keeps talking about it. So long as you vote the “right” way, you get to complain from time to time without suddenly turning into a racist misogynist.
Esthier on April 30, 2012 at 2:44 PM
Oh, Jon, you silly man.
Don’t you realize that you’re supposed to be criticizing Sarah Palin, not King Barack Hussein the First?
You have wandered off the plantation. For that, you will be punished.
UltimateBob on April 30, 2012 at 2:44 PM
Nice try at moral equivalence lefty, but it’s not an apt comparison.
The Dixie Chicks stood on a stage in a foreign country and pandered to anti-American sentiment by attacking our country’s leadership just as our troops were about to begin combat operations.
That’s a far cry from from criticizing the president’s economic policies on American soil.

In China, they put people that criticize the government in prison…
Not to worry, Obama and the Democrats are working on it.

Hardly the same thing. They insulted the POTUS on foreign soil to a foreign audience…at a concert. Why mention the POTUS at all?
No, Lovitz is getting slammed by the “tolerant” Left because he has the audacity to be a celebrity/entertainer who doesn’t kowtow to the Left’s hegemony in Hollywood.
It happens to every celebrity who dares to express a belief or viewpoint that the Left considers a thoughtcrime.
cicerone on April 30, 2012 at 3:09 PM
I take it this means you’re not going to buy Lovitz’s next country album.
jon1979 on April 30, 2012 at 3:15 PM
Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Ladysmith CulchaVulcha on April 30, 2012 at 3:21 PM
Yeah but check again after November. If he wins the election, he’ll be “more flexible” to be Emperor-in-Chief as he continues to usurp power from Congress and the people.

He has attacked their god…

Big diff, Jon!
Get your thinking straight!
