House: DOE sought federal contracts for Solyndra
The House Energy and Commerce Committee summarized the push to prop up Solyndra in two letters to Obama Administration officials. “Documents produced to the Committee show that Jonathan Silver, the Executive Director of the DOE Loan Programs Office, contacted the General Services Administration (GSA) in July 2010 about scheduling a meeting with Solyndra to discuss a contract for Solyndra to provide solar panels for government buildings,” Chairman Fred Upton, R-Mich., and Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation Chair Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., wrote to GSA Administrator Martha Johnson. The investigators asked Johnson for all GSA documents related to Solyndra.
The same month that Silver was connecting Solyndra to the GSA, George Kaiser — a fundraiser for Obama with a massive stake in Solyndra — and his adjuncts were game-planning how to get military contracts from the Defense Department that could solve Solyndra’s financial problems. “What about DOD (and other governmental entity) sales efforts? Do the DOE people focus at all on how a Buy American plan could be a win win win for them and do they have any influence?” Kaiser emailed to some executives in his investment firm, Argonaut Private Equity, according to the House Committee.

I sometimes think politicians are really just chickenshit entrepreneurs who don’t want to risk their own money or the market. Just grab a pool of other people’s money and force a market and then label yourself a success. What a formula!

But I thought Solyndra was Bush’s fault….?

Are you my long lost brother from another mother? I used to sometimes doubt myself and wonder why I wasn’t that well spoken. The last thirty plus years has made me realize that the problem was not with me. I have had to watch Kennedy, Biden, etc., republicans as well, sit and act as our wise ones while themselves being snail tracks.

.
Cynical and desperate, these “business managers” just tried to plunder the American taxpayer without any apologies or shame. I wonder if they are just feeling “entitled” since their major investor helped Ø buy the American presidency.

These Obama appointees don’t even pretend to care about protecting taxpayer interests, do they? It’s all about keeping the scam going and protecting Obama’s political interests, whatever the cost to taxpayers. Disgraceful.

A lot of “green energy” (especially solar) companies are fighting for military/government contracts. They focus on these because it’s much, much easier than competing in the real market for private business. It’s like winning the lottery.

If only they had gotten that contract to put panels on the White House.

Taking apart this administration is going to be like investigating that dripping toilet where you end up unearthing the entire rotten sewer system down to the street.
Yes I’m watching the Saturday DIY shows.
