Romney: Those Bain attacks didn’t work out too well in NH, huh?
“I think their argument fell flat here in New Hampshire. They tried it very hard, ran ads here, were up and down the state campaigning, and people in the state here said, ‘look, we want a guy who spent some time in the private sector, not someone who spent their entire life in Washington.’ So I think it’s working for my benefit,” the former Massachusetts governor said…
Romney told me he’ll deal with that line of attack straight on.
“The Vice President and the President, for instance, oversaw General Motors and Chrysler and what did they do? They came in and closed factories, closed dealerships, laid people off. They did it to try and save the business and every time we had a reduction in employment it was designed to try and make the business more successful and, ultimately, to grow it,” he told me. “And tens of thousands of jobs created by virtue of the work we were doing. I’m pretty proud of that record.”

And if they offer a pension, than they are required to carry insurance on that also? Are they mandated to fund said pension program and carry insurance on the program in case of a financial problems?

So, let’s say that someone owes a bank $100,000 and makes $50,000 per year.
Does that mean that ALL the money the person makes every week belongs to the bank until they repay their mortgage??
Of course not, this is stupid. Everyone knows that this isn’t true.
blink on January 11, 2012 at 2:23 PM
Since I’m not sure, I think I will be satisfied with rockmom’s explanation. Thanks for trying to clear it up.

Ha! Capitalism is not a core tenet of Marxism. I’m arguing in favor of capitalism. You’re arguing against it.

It NEVER works! They’ve already destroyed the economy and shoved healthcare down our throats, and who gets blamed? The obstructionist Republicans in Congress.
GET RID OF THEM.
John the Libertarian on January 11, 2012 at 2:24 PM
Ace has a brutal video that previews what is coming if Romney is the nominee. It’s below the fold.
Stayright on January 11, 2012 at 2:25 PM
It never works because we have too many Republicans that are fiscally liberal. We always have liberal policies which are sending this country to hell. The only way to change this is to get real conservatives in place. The only way to change this is to show people how bad democrat policies are for the country.
blink on January 11, 2012 at 2:28 PM
Well then Mitt is between a rock and hard place, sucks to be him if he uses the “private” to hide what they do and now he “can’t” publicize a summary of their track record.
Truth be told, even for a private company, there are plenty of public information on the old company and on the spin-offs. People can deduce where the difference went between the pre-acquisition and post sale. Likewise, it isn’t too hard to figure if Bain is a net job creator or a net job destroyer. Question is if Mitt wants to explain why Bain was good or hide why Bain was bad. His choice, his consequences to bear.

I’m telling you it never works, the Democrats are artful liars. Who got blamed during the debt ceiling standoff? The Tea Party congresspeople who stood their ground. Obama blamed them for not cutting Social Security checks. They blame principled conservatives for pushing granny off the cliff.
Forget it. The MSM will never champion our cause. We have to get rid of the Democrats.

It doesn’t matter what the MSM champions.
Without truly fiscal conservative policies, this country is going to hell. I’d rather not have R’s in office as the country goes to hell.
When the country does go to hell, it won’t matter what the MSM tries championing – the people will know.

So, you agree that you can’t lay claim to all of your daughter’s $1,000 simply because you gave her $50. Thanks.
blink on January 11, 2012 at 2:42 PM
No.
But say my son borrows $50 from a bank and goes out and spends all of it. My daughter gives him $50 he takes it and pays the bank back.
That’s what happened re: BAIN/FDIC. Technically my daughter gave my son $50. In reality I gave my son $50.
angryed on January 11, 2012 at 2:43 PM
Why don’t you answer my question? If someone that makes $50,000 per year owes $100,000 on their mortgage, does all of their money belong to the bank?
If the person buys a new suit, would you say that the bank bought them the new suit?
blink on January 11, 2012 at 2:44 PM
No it doesn’t. For objectivity, because in spite of your ‘wild’ claims today, I do observe carefully what goes on around here…you have been great for the most part and occasionally you just snap and are an annoying little…not twerp.
If you are a rightie, we fight the same enemies. If you aren’t, you can’t be helped. If you are the former, I wish you all the best and may you destroy all things which are not for freedom and liberty.

Sorry for taking an adversarial role against you. The information that was being spun into lies against Romney really bothered me.

Yesterday, repeatedly, I commented that the righties are making a mistake to go after Romney on Bain in general. I said that they could go after him on 1001 better reasons. I don’t know how to explain it any differently.
Today, he goofed by making the parallel with the bailouts. It’s a different thread.
Schadenfreude on January 11, 2012 at 2:55 PM
Oh Please! Could you be any more disingenuous? Or are you just that gullible? I listened to about 15 seconds and heard all I needed to know that it uses out-of-context comments which distort what he said.
It begins with Romney saying he opposes Obama’s “Stimulus”. Cut to a clip saying he is for “economic stimulus. Do you really not understand that one can oppose Obama’s fake phony fraud “Stimulus” yet favor “economic stimulus” – which can come in various forms such as tax cuts, tax reform, gutting job killing regulations and so forth?
