Romney: Those Bain attacks didn’t work out too well in NH, huh?
“I think their argument fell flat here in New Hampshire. They tried it very hard, ran ads here, were up and down the state campaigning, and people in the state here said, ‘look, we want a guy who spent some time in the private sector, not someone who spent their entire life in Washington.’ So I think it’s working for my benefit,” the former Massachusetts governor said…
Romney told me he’ll deal with that line of attack straight on.
“The Vice President and the President, for instance, oversaw General Motors and Chrysler and what did they do? They came in and closed factories, closed dealerships, laid people off. They did it to try and save the business and every time we had a reduction in employment it was designed to try and make the business more successful and, ultimately, to grow it,” he told me. “And tens of thousands of jobs created by virtue of the work we were doing. I’m pretty proud of that record.”

No but since the subject was the USPS, they always spend more than they take in and always in default and we (taxpayers) are the lender and we never get repaid.

Never to worry. I’m not here to make friends, not even to influence anyone. My nom should tell that. All I want is to get rid of Obama in the general. Unfortunately there is NO one to fight for in the primaries. I used to like Romney in 2008 but I don’t any more. Unfortunately there is no one to be passionate about when a jelly fish should beat Obama.
Also, I invented no lies, nor am I for promoting any. I’m also open for being wrong.
I’m vehemently opposed to TARP, the car bailouts, Obamacare. No arguments will change my mind on them. However, you and others are always free to argue for them, or anything.
Schadenfreude on January 11, 2012 at 2:59 PM
I love that you think that the DNC has to be honest.
Cindy Munford on January 11, 2012 at 2:59 PM
According to Rush just now, Gingrich is retracting has attacks on Bain Capital.

I’m taking credit for this decision. LOL!!!!! I had heard this morning that he was going to have a news conference at 9 a.m. but then heard nothing further.
Cindy Munford on January 11, 2012 at 3:01 PM
Yeah, well it’s a little late for that. Team Obama already have all the quotes they need from him (and Rick “vulture capitalism” Perry and Huntsman)to use in the general election.
Indeed, it’s a bit like the trick lawyers use at trials where they ask a question about something they know will get an objection from the opposing attorney, but it doesn’t matter cause the damage has been done and the seed has been planted in the mind of the jurors.

Good BD, it’s not that I believe what’s in it – it’s what Obama will run 24/7 if Romney is the nominee. Unfortunately he’d do the same with any other and the media will aid, fully.

Please, NO. This is a free country, still, and a free forum. It’s great to debate ideas.
Schadenfreude on January 11, 2012 at 3:04 PM
I agree.
He didn’t make the parallel. He claimed that Obama can’t attack him for layoffs during restructuring since Obama had to do the same thing.
blink on January 11, 2012 at 3:05 PM
Thank you.
And remember that FDIC isn’t USPS, or did you forget that?
blink on January 11, 2012 at 3:06 PM
I agree with your point and I wish Perry or Newt had never done this..
Dire Straits on January 11, 2012 at 3:08 PM
I never thought that you did, and I didn’t think that you were being disingenuous for relying on the links that you’ve read.
blink on January 11, 2012 at 3:08 PM
Did the DNC link to that video or was it Schadenfreude?
Any candidate or individual can have words taken out of context and edited to make it appear they said something they did not. This is not exclusive to Romney. One could do the same thing to Newt, Perry, Huntsman, Ron Paul, Santorum – every one of them. She is trying to argue that this makes Mitt “unelectable”. But hey, let’s make Debbie Wasserman Schultz our go to gal from now on…

As I said to Cindy Munford (in short): So what?

Whoa, that’s a kick in the gonads.
That’s like trying to reclaim your virginity after losing it during a night of drunken recklessness. It’s gone, and nothing’s going to change it.
Flora Duh on January 11, 2012 at 3:12 PM
Damn, I forgot to remark that Schadenfreude “sold her soul” by linking to that video.

That’s like complaining when AP has a negative thread about what the Dems are promoting. It doesn’t hurt us to know what is out there. You didn’t mind when bad stuff was linked about Palin, you jumped in with both feet. Stop shooting the messenger or at least try to be consistent.
Cindy Munford on January 11, 2012 at 3:14 PM
Exactly.

If he is, Jazz is unaware since he just posted a thread about Roger Simon throwing in the Newt towel. It’s over anyway, I don’t think anyone can pretend that it didn’t happen.
Cindy Munford on January 11, 2012 at 3:16 PM
Such snark is not necessary with Schaden, and you know better.
I merely helped another commenter out. S/he had referred to it in the lower level of Ace and I found it on Youtube and posted it.
I still don’t like Romney but will always like you.
Schadenfreude on January 11, 2012 at 3:18 PM
To be sure, I meant to write that it’s not necessary from you. We understand each other way better than most, without such.
Schadenfreude on January 11, 2012 at 3:19 PM
Brings to mind a couple of quotes..Genie is out of the bottle and something about the horse leaving the barn..
Dire Straits on January 11, 2012 at 3:20 PM
Like I said, often, the turdfest was begun by passive-aggressive Romney letting his aggressive-aggressive dogs out in Iowa. The rest is big fodder for the left…Ronald Reagan and all that.
It makes it easy to hate all of them even more.
Schadenfreude on January 11, 2012 at 3:22 PM
I just used that on the other thread, did I repeat it from someone else? I’m easily influenced. I thought Flora’s virginity remark was very apropos.
Cindy Munford on January 11, 2012 at 3:24 PM
I just saw it..You know they say great minds think alike..
PS..Flora’s comment ws very good..
Dire Straits on January 11, 2012 at 3:28 PM
None of it is what I want to see in my president.
Cindy Munford on January 11, 2012 at 3:30 PM
No it’s not the same thing (and that’s rich coming from you since you flipped out when I linked to the Rush/Tom Delay interview about Newt). The difference is that I linked to the entire transcript and did not edit out a single word of it. Schadenfreude is trying to convince us that Romney can’t be elected by referring to a propaganda piece which splices and dices words. I don’t do that, I never did it to Palin (heck, I wouldn’t even do that to make a point about Obama). I always provide context to my quotes and I don’t play silly games trying to make it look as if someone said or meant something they didn’t through the magic of editing.
Moreover, when someone accuses me of “selling my soul” I’m going to be particularly alert for hypocrisy. The fact is not only did I make the same point Romney made about Obama laying off workers here at Hot Air, I wrote numerous blog posts at my own blog about Obama/GM/Chrysler. Those posts had NOTHING to do with Mitt Romney and I resent being accused of “selling my soul” to Romney when I have been completely consistent on this specific topic.

Okay fine, we’ll stipulate that’s true and I apologize if I assumed you thought it was fabulous stuff. Hopefully whoever that commenter was will note my comments about what a pathetic hack job it is.

They are all going to be pathetic hack jobs, we can count on that.
Cindy Munford on January 11, 2012 at 3:39 PM
Yes, and that editing technique will be used on our nominee, no matter who he is. Now if only I had the original post at ACE’s place I’d know what angle he was using as a reason to post the vid…

Good one, you never have to even think about apologizing to me. You are a real sane/intelligent one. You might have to prop me up and guide my hand to vote for Romney but I will not hold it against you. Fortunately the land is still relatively free, for a time. There is no one good in the race. Times demand real leaders and there are none in sight. It’s a travesty. Yes, yes, you may argue that R is the one, but I don’t see it any more. By the time the next generation wakes up it might be too late. However, it’s self-infliced and as such the people deserve it. You know that I alays say that relatively free people always, always deserve their ‘leaders’.
