Biden: Romney was probably taken out of context in what he said about firing people
Biden said Romney’s comment was “probably taken out of context,” according to the pool report. The vice president was referring to the candidate’s remark on Monday that “I like being able to fire people.” Romney was talking about firing service providers who offer things like health insurance, but his remarks immediately drew a firestorm of criticism from his Republican presidential rivals and Democrats.

A company should never fire people. Firing people is evil and a part of vulture capitalism.
Bad workers should be kept no matter what. Yea. Like professors.
That’s how it should be. Shame on Romney for ever firing anyone.

Possible leftie talking point in a couple of months: Biden was probably taken out of context when he defended Romney…
apostic on January 11, 2012 at 1:10 PM
Ladies and gentlemen, we have finally achieved it. We have a commenter more in the tank for the Obama Administration than the Obama Administration itself.

Read much? Understand any of it?
You know, as much as you dislike your father, he’s probably much more disappointed in you.

Romney’s statement was taken out of context by a bunch of unprincipled opportunists.

Sometimes you get the feeling that Biden wants Obama to lose.

So he’s going to ask the DNC to take down their ad, right?
Cindy Munford on January 11, 2012 at 1:14 PM
They want romney.
the_nile on January 11, 2012 at 1:15 PM
Donna Brazille let the cat out of the bag after Iowa. The DNC wants Romney because he is the weakest challenger to Obama.
Now we have Biden defending Obama.

How many people did he fire as governor of MA? NONE.
Firing people in the private sector? Sure.
Firing union govt employees? Not so much.

Defending Romney. Sorry about that. I keep getting them confused.

Your 24/7 bashing of President Romney has cost you anything close to credibility.
You are a bore and, as everybody knows, you really arent a liberal. You are a poser and you are very lame.
Jailbreak on January 11, 2012 at 1:19 PM
Much like Carter must be happy that Obama came along, Dan Quayle has to be pleased about Biden.

Same people who said OWS would carry the democrats onto a victory in this coming election.
They’re betting the Bain capital angle will work for them. It won’t.
blatantblue on January 11, 2012 at 1:20 PM
You’re delusional if you think Romney is the weakest challenger.
changer1701 on January 11, 2012 at 1:22 PM
Dissent in part. Romney is not the weakest challenger by a long shot. If Ron Paul, for example, were to get the nom, Team Obama would jump for joy. However, Romney is the one they’ve been preparing for a long time to fight against. In that sense, they are ready.
McDuck on January 11, 2012 at 1:23 PM
Aren’t we getting ahead of yourselves a little?
liberal4life on January 11, 2012 at 1:23 PM
I didn’t say Romney was the weakest challenger. Donna Brazille said it. You know the woman who ran Algore’s campaign.
dacoach on January 11, 2012 at 1:26 PM
It means Obama Inc wants to keep Romney in the game, and tank after he wins the nomination.
portlandon on January 11, 2012 at 1:29 PM
More accurately:
And eviscerate him after he win the nomination.
Chip on January 11, 2012 at 1:34 PM
I know Mitt was taken out of context, but there were so many other, better ways to say what he was trying say. Just a dumb gaffe.
YYZ on January 11, 2012 at 1:37 PM
It has to do with their ridiculous confidence in the Bain Capital angle.
They truly believed OWS would lead to good tidings for the Democratic party. They think Bain Capital will be the way to down Romney. They’re exuding stunning confidence for an administration that has failed miserably, and they’re really showing their ignorance if they think Bain Capital will be a way to bring Romney down.
blatantblue on January 11, 2012 at 1:38 PM
but but Romney will help us down ballot so we can recapture the Senate.
Obama vs. Obama-lite
Turn out should be HUGE!

“Probably”? If they used the actual statement, “I like being able to fire people” who provide services to me and they don’t do what I want, most people agree. It’s why they complain about HMOs. Americans are used to having choices, but our present system has taken them away. Anybody who runs a business would expect to have the right to fire employees who aren’t doing their jobs, but the broadening ability to claim discrimination has undermined that right, but it’s still what people expect to have.
