Here we go: Gingrich Super PAC set to hammer Romney for Bain work in SC
Democrats have signaled that they intend to make Mr. Romney’s history at Bain a key part of their case against him if he wins the Republican presidential nomination. But Bain has also emerged as an issue in the Republican primary, despite the party’s pro-free market stance and business-friendly policies, reflecting the depth of public anger about the economy. At an appearance here on Sunday, Mr. Gingrich suggested that Bain’s approach was to carry out “clever legal ways to loot a company.”…
The Bain-centered campaign strikes at the heart of Mr. Romney’s argument for his qualifications as president — that as a successful executive in the private sector, he learned how to create jobs — and advances an argument that President Obama’s re-election campaign has signaled it would employ aggressively against Mr. Romney.
“His business success comes from raiding and destroy businesses — putting people out of work, stealing their health care,” said Rick Tyler, a senior adviser to the pro-Gingrich super PAC, Winning Our Future, which recently bought the film, “King of Bain: When Mitt Romney Came to Town,” after groups backing two other Republican candidates passed up opportunities to use it…
“If this is free enterprise, then conservatives should have nothing to do with it,” [Tyler] said. “It is predatory paper-shuffling. Mitt Romney was engaged in the engineered destruction of free enterprise,” including raiding workers’ pension and health care funds to finance corporate takeovers, he said.

Well, the first step is admitting you have a problem. Well done.

Oooh. Now naughty words. You’re right, you’re definately sixth-grade material.
29Victor on January 9, 2012 at 10:31 AM
OK, well, thanks Flora for all this. I made a comment to you about obama. I never meant it about you. It had nothing to do with you. I’m sorry you think it was about you. And here we are. Nice.

I agree that Bain should be an asset to Romney. But, if Newt is attacking Bain on the basis that they closed failing businesses (ignoring the ones they rescued), is that really a fair charge coming from someone claiming to be a Republican?
The Count on January 9, 2012 at 10:35 AM
You dont even get the irony of accusing others of class warfare, while you defend your candidate by stating which group or class of people he is pandering to, dont you?
Its not a question of pandering or social groups (classes), but how do the candidates actions relate to the constitution. If thats not your first criterion, you are not much of a conservative. And the answer to that question is quite obvious – as stated above.

Republicans really need to change the mascot of the party to something other than elephant. Their collective memory is about 24 hours.
angryed on January 9, 2012 at 10:35 AM
I don’t think I defended either one. At least I didn’t mean to. They’re both negatives to me.
Ronnie on January 9, 2012 at 10:37 AM
But that is Romney’s job and trust me it will help him. I need to know that this guy has a vision and expertise that will help my country other than a rich guy fulfilling his father’s failed dreams. You guys worry about what the great unwashed will take away from the attacks (either from Newt or Obama) but I don’t think you see the visual that Romney is presenting now. It is not compelling and “electability” is just about the stupidest reason to vote for someone.
Cindy Munford on January 9, 2012 at 10:41 AM
In response to the article, most people don’t go around seething with anger at rich people, or anyone else for that matter. I’m happy for rich people – good for them! Plus, for those who do go around in constant anger, most people I know would be looking for the door, to make a quiet getaway. The class warfare thing won’t work. Go Mitt!

The devil’s in the details. Not every corporate take-over is a triumph of capitalistic creative destruction. Sometimes it’s simply destructive predation by opportunistic raiders who pocket the profits, move on, and leave the market diminished. Not sure anyone cares how they re-invigorate the economy later by spending the loot.
If Romney’s about to sweep all before him in all 50 state primaries, Newt’s attack ads are doing him a favor. Because Obama and the media will hit Mitt with far worse– which they’ve been saving up for 4 years.

I hope you are right because Obama’s been using pretty effectively for the last 3+ years.
Cindy Munford on January 9, 2012 at 10:50 AM
Has it really been effective? I don’t see much evidence of that. It wasn’t very effective in 2010.
Ronnie on January 9, 2012 at 10:52 AM
Congress approval in single digits and Obama’s just under 50%. I agree that it doesn’t make sense but it’s what they tell us. Every time that man doesn’t get his way he trots out the Republican House trying to protect the rich. I am hoping and praying that the people who have answered these polls are still worried about being seen as racists for not saying the guy is a disaster.
Cindy Munford on January 9, 2012 at 10:56 AM
Oh grow up. You sound like Obama blaming other people for the dog crap on his shoe, when he stepped in it all by his lonesome.
Talk about a 3rd grade attitude.
Flora Duh on January 9, 2012 at 10:56 AM
I think a good percentage of his “supporters” will stay home in 2012.
Ronnie on January 9, 2012 at 11:03 AM
Yes, he has used it effectively to fire up his base, but it has not worked well for the people who voted for him on the basis of his insipid rhetoric. They won’t vote for him again and are in fact downright embarassed that they ever supported him. These are just normal people like me.
Paddington on January 9, 2012 at 11:05 AM
I hope you are right, I would but we can’t count on it. Our guy must be compelling.
Cindy Munford on January 9, 2012 at 11:10 AM
See my 11:10 AM remark.
Cindy Munford on January 9, 2012 at 11:11 AM
I don’t think we have any compelling candidates. Not one. We’ll just have to hope that their side is more apathetic than we are.
Ronnie on January 9, 2012 at 11:12 AM
LOL! There is much in what you say but I think we have the superior rallying point, Obama must go. What a disaster the man has been!
Cindy Munford on January 9, 2012 at 11:22 AM
Yes
Ronnie on January 9, 2012 at 11:23 AM
Cannot argue the wrongs or rights of take overs, hostile or otherwise. But would suggest that Romney carefully analyze how he feels about his Bain role and then quietly and sincerely tell the American people. We are basically an understanding lot and appreciate sincerity in our leaders…there’s so little of it these days.
jeanie on January 9, 2012 at 11:23 AM
It’s early days yet into the revelations about Bain but I think they have more successes than failures and the failures had more to do with the era (technology) and the unions. I agree, a sincere telling of his work with Bain will ultimately be good for him.
Cindy Munford on January 9, 2012 at 11:28 AM
Ah, okay, thanks. Now what exactly is the RNC doing to “destroy the base”?
That is your opinion, it is not a fact, therefore I put it in the category of “talking point’
I understand that! He was talking about how Obama will go after Mitt over his work with Bain, and therefore we should surrender, or something. I gave that as a tit for tat example of the propaganda Obama will use – against any and all.
I’m not arguing that he needs to fine tune his message. I disagree with the conclusions you reached and dispute your Elmer Gantry assertion.

You’re the one who over reacted to his post, thinking it was a dig on you.
And Cindy Munford you ought to know better than to pile on to a false attack. Jackwagon was not called for.
