Rubio’s VP inside track: He and Romney have used many of the same staffers
At least six past and current Rubio Senate aides, including chief of staff Cesar Conda and his deputy, Terry Sullivan, worked for Romney’s 2008 presidential bid, establishing a direct link and a line of communication between the front-runner for the 2012 GOP nomination and the front-runner in the Republican veepstakes. There’s also a trail of fundraisers, donors and consultants who have overlapping relationships with Rubio and Romney…
“There is a synergy,” Cabrera-Morris, an Orlando-based consultant and lobbyist, told POLITICO. “The people who were with Marco who are now with Romney [believe that] Marco and Romney have most of the same ideals. A lot of us made the decision based on that.”
As for Rubio’s team, she added, “The cream of the crop of Romney now work for Marco Rubio.”
The Rubio-Romney staff connection also highlights a key trait the two men share: They’re establishment favorites who are running extremely disciplined operations — one on the presidential stage, the other in the Senate — that stay on message and don’t veer wildly from one strategy to the next.

This all assumes Romney will be the nominee. Which, hopefully, he will not.

That stain on your otherwise perfect veneer smells a lot like Romney. That’s a shame.

Sorry, Romney, choosing Rubio as your VP is not going to do it. You will still lose to Obama and the RINOs/GOP Establishment will pin the blame on Rubio, just like McCain’s loss was blamed on Palin.
It is never the RINO’s fault for being a crappy candidate – they will always find a foil to take the blame.

Shocking!

Romney says it’s the most evil thing in the world that Perry supported in-state tutition to the children on illegals. Yet, he’s just fine with Rubio who also supports in-state tutition for the children of illegals.
Romney’s a SLIMY, two-faced SNAKE.

I could vote for a Romney/Rubio ticket if I had to. I’d rather not, but my nose will already be held from voting for Brown.

Romney-Rubio 2012!

If I remember correctly, Rubio was Jeb’s guy, and Jeb also pushed staffers to Romney’s camp in 2007/8. Don’t know if it fits the ones named, but it would make sense.

Why would Rubio ruin an otherwise promising career on a person who, AT BEST, would be a 1 termer. That would effectively end his shot at any further office. Of course, that assumes Romney even gets elected after winning the nomination.

Downgrading Rubio stock begins.
It’s in free-fall.
It’s gone.

Romney and Rubio? Eeckkkk!

The presumption in the Romney camp talking about his VP choice is almost as strong as in Herman Cain subtitling his book My Road to the White House.

A Romney/Rubio ticket would sure remind conservatives of the days of Bush/Cheney.
MeatHeadinCA on October 3, 2011 at 6:25 PM
Anything with Romney in it would remind me of Carter/Obama.

I was hoping that Rubio was better than this? But, those do what those feel they have to do.

Romney and Rubio disagree on what, according to Romney, is THE single most important issue of the day: in-state tuition for children of illegals. Romney could never pick Rubio knowing that Rubio supports such an evil monstrosity! Unless, of course, Romney is a colossal hypocrit. Naaaaaah.

Rubio should not be wasted on the VP position. It should be given to someone the caliber of Spiro Agnew, Walter Mondale, Dan Quayle, Al Gore, or Joe Biden. I say let the VP be Michele Bachmann unless she turns off the moderates too much.
