Obama’s third-quarter fundraising: At least $55 million
The Obama campaign is likely to beat its $55 million target for combined third-quarter contributions to joint party and presidential committees — but likely to lag behind its record-breaking second-quarter haul, according to Democrats involved in the effort…
“Clearly, the effort is solid if not another [record-breaker],” South Carolina Democratic Chairman Dick Harpootlian, a member of Obama’s national finance council, told POLITICO. “When you have a demanding day job like him, you don’t have the time to do as much fund raising as a guy like Rick Perry, who doesn’t care if Texas burns down.”
One Democrat, speaking on condition of anonymity, said a handful had been rescheduled but cited the “opportunity cost of the cancellations.”

Let us hope his campaign spending does more to stimulate the economy than his so-called economic policies.

Yeah those 18 holes of daily golf and monthly vacations sure take a lot out of a person.

Hmm — $55 million in the third quarter with a stated goal by Team Obama to raise $1 billion in campaign donations by the fourth quarter of next year? It’s going to take a lot of Hollywood fundraisers, corporate shakedowns and illegal foreign campaign donations to meet that $1 billion goal; at this rate, Obama’s going to come up about 50 percent short of his goal, even if donations pick up next year.

All the money in the world won’t get him re-elected.

Obama seeks to lower expectations for lackluster fundraising
—
From Politico and worth repeating.
Here are some highlights from political science professor Brendan Doherty’s research on President Obama’s 127 fundraisers, reported by USA Today:
– “By comparison, President George W. Bush had held 88 fundraisers and President Clinton, 76, at this point in their first terms.”
–“ While Obama hit the road to raise money for endangered House and Senate Democrats in 2010 congressional elections, he has appeared at 37 fundraisers this year to benefit his own campaign, according to Doherty’s tally. That’s more than three times the 11 fundraisers George W. Bush held for his own campaign at this point in his first term.”

This makes my head explode… picking up my brains now. By all means Mr. Obama should do more fundraising..(off the prompter).

Solyndra was a big contributor I understand, along with some of the Muslim countries as well as many of the drug cartels in Mexico.

Given Barry’s, ummm, decline in public standing, I imagine his campaign funds might get a closer look this time around than they did last, and I imagine Team Barry knows that, which makes the job all the more difficult. Last time around, they could roll around naked in their illegal donations in Times Square. This time around? The scandal plagued Obama is going to have to be a bit more careful about hiding all that foreign money and other illegal donations.

@Rational Thought, I think you’re on to something. Also LOL at your description of money & TSQR.

So Obama is not scolding the people donating who choose to give money rather than use it to create new jobs?
CW on October 1, 2011 at 10:02 AM
..also helps when you can parade around in government-funded transportation doing so-called government trips to boost your JOBS bill — all of which looks strangely like what he’d be doing if he were campaigning.
I am so-o-o-o-o over this idiot.

The whole of Obama’s “demanding day job” is just one constant campaign. Who is this jerk kidding?
