Obama on tour: “I make no apologies for being reasonable”
“You’ve got to be willing to compromise to move the country forward,” the president said later in the day as he delivered the same message at a town hall in Decorah, Iowa.
At the same time Obama was forced to defend his own record as Iowa voters asked him about all the compromises he’s made with the GOP.
“I make no apologies for being reasonable,” Obama declared as he stood in front of a cheery red barn, surrounded by bales of hay.

Well you let us know when that happens.

He is such a compromiser, he has already threatened Congress if they don’t pass legislation he has yet to write.
MayBee on August 16, 2011 at 12:13 PM
It’s all he has.
faraway on August 16, 2011 at 12:15 PM
Well, he has certainly compromised America!
OldEnglish on August 16, 2011 at 12:15 PM
Because …
Being REASONABLE means trying to find a way to cut military retirements … but continuing to fund NPR, Planned Parenthood, the National Endowment for the Arts … etc.

What happen to “I won!” compromise plan?
Brian on August 16, 2011 at 12:18 PM
Reasonable?
I don’t think that means what you think it means.

bho has a ‘cherry red’ barn and hay bales behind him? What, no boots, cowboy hat, or a six shooter on his hip? I wonder how much it cost for the landowner to get their place spruced up to have bho have it for his back drop?

like any apology of the sort is warranted
what a sad petty haughty lonely man
SlimyBill on August 16, 2011 at 12:21 PM
Good, then we won’t have to apologize when your sorry ass is canned in 2012.
fossten on August 16, 2011 at 12:21 PM
He has a couple of new campaign buses too.
How is this about his ‘jobs plan’? This is a campaign tour and we’re paying for it.
forest on August 16, 2011 at 12:22 PM
He won’t be so reasonable in his second term, God help us.
JammieWearingFool on August 16, 2011 at 12:22 PM
How much longer till he can go on vacay? He has to be counting the days. Get away from the masses, hang out with Michelle and renew the romance, smoke a little dope, spend quality time in front of a mirror.

I have no doubt he still tokes. Probably has secret service make his deals for him.

Does he make apologies for being a stuttering clus… whoops, wrong blog.
The Mega Independent on August 16, 2011 at 12:36 PM
He, His Eminence, visited a community center next my daughter’s house in Richmond to talk to neighborhood residents. Weeks before city workers and and casts of thousands were “beautifying” the area on taxpayer’s dimes. BTW: long time residents did not recognize ANY of the ones that were given entry.
Dingbat63 on August 16, 2011 at 12:38 PM
Huh.
“Compromise” “Reasonable” “I won”
Fallon on August 16, 2011 at 12:39 PM
Damn right it’s a campaign tour. From what I’ve seen and read of the tour so far, he hasn’t been talking about jobs at all, he’s using every speech as an opportunity to slam Republicans, which is straight up campaigning. If it’s a jobs tour, why is he telling us we’ll have to wait until next month to see his super-duper job creating economic plan? He was already busted making campaign contribution pleas from the White House. When does the FEC actually get involved and do its job? This is direct robbery from the tax payers.

Obama? Reasonable? HELL NO!
Ryan Rhodes on with Rush Limbaugh right now.
Naturally Curly on August 16, 2011 at 12:41 PM
Cleverly staged to give the impression that he’s genuinely in touch with, and cares about, the rubes in flyover country
I’m so glad that we, the taxpayers, were able to provide him with this million dollar bus for his campaign tour.
A bus that will probably only be used for this 3-day photo op and then scrapped.
A bus that he has probably never seen the inside of and never will.

They don’t have to make deals, they just pick the cream of the crops sitting in the evidence rooom of Park Police, FBI & BATF.
AH_C on August 16, 2011 at 12:43 PM
Btw, it’s really great to see that Obama’s “Jobs Tour” is really Obama’s “Slander Fiscal Responsibility Tour.”
blink on August 16, 2011 at 12:44 PM
Good point. There’s no way money’s coming out of his pocket. Kinda like this bus tour campaign.

Grew up around a barn & bales of hay – along w/ a manure spreader. Barry’s barnyard appearance proves things never change.

LOL. Read the comments at the link, Obie’s getting no love on a 20 to 1 ratio. Even Black Southsiders won’t claim him. Heh. Keep talking, Obie, soon enough people will see thru your curtain of class warfare.
AH_C on August 16, 2011 at 12:49 PM
Ma Kettle would soon sort him out!
OldEnglish on August 16, 2011 at 12:50 PM
He’s the kind of guy during a job interview — and of course this is a hypothetical because Obama has never had a real job — who’s asked what his major flaw is and answers, “I’m just too darn conscientious and hard-working.”
Jim Treacher on August 16, 2011 at 12:53 PM
I would think reasonableness is kind of like intelligence in that it should make itself fairly apparent as people spend time getting to know someone. If you have to keep reminding people that have that quality, then you probably don’t.

Understandable. How about for being a liar, a partisan hack, a demagogue, a fraud, and an idiot? Any apologies that all of that?
Jaibones on August 16, 2011 at 1:07 PM
Obie sez the tour is a listening tour, yeah right. Here’s what happens because he wasn’t listening:
AH_C on August 16, 2011 at 1:18 PM
Obama is like a mosaic of ideology. Lots of disjoint pieces fitted together to make a pretty picture, but all kinds of inconsistencies from piece to piece.
Count to 10 on August 16, 2011 at 1:20 PM
He is a thin-skinned, whinny, finger-pointing non-leader, who has no idea of what the hell he is doing. What happened was that a bunch of air-headed voters voted for a good sounding empty suit that could read a teleprompter. Obama has accomplished the impossible, he makes the Jimmy Carter look good.
