High expectations: Bachmann’s team says they’ve given away 6,000+ Ames tickets
Ron Paul’s campaign is the other boasting of similar numbers, but Paul’s latest tallies are somewhat lower than Bachmann’s.

I get the idea that some of these people would sell their firstborn to be elected president. It’s starting to turn me off the whole process. Maybe it’s time (since it’s August) to dive into football preseason or baseball or something and forget political garbage for a while.

6,000 X 35 = 210,000 of grassroots money up in smoke. I hope those that gave $50.00 for Bachmann to defeat Obama consider that money well spent.

You go girl. She is not going to be Potus, but she will gain respect from this run.

Not a bad showing, Senator Harkin.

Sorry. Clicked the wrong button.
Can anyone tell me how this whole Ames straw poll came about and why it’s important anymore? Has it always had tickets? I mean, that part of it, in and of itself, should totally negate any sort of results.
miConsevative on August 13, 2011 at 4:58 PM
a lot of money spent for nothing.
idesign on August 13, 2011 at 4:59 PM
Wait, so they can basically buy a win in this straw poll if they want? How does anyone take it seriously at all then? I am sure Obama could pay 20k people to come vote for him during the straw poll if he wanted to. . . .

tally begins now…

It’s a way for the Iowa GOP to raise money. But it demonstrates candidates’ committment to Iowa, and their ability to organize. Yes, they are bribing people for their vote. But the idea is you actually get them to come all the way out to Ames. If they are willing to do that, they are likely to show up at the caucuses.

Wouldn’t a lot of people be jumping on the bandwagon of whomever they think will prevent the jihadi loving lunatic Paul from winning it?
Buddahpundit on August 13, 2011 at 5:03 PM
It’s a joke. Does anyone believe whoever wins this scam- whether Paul or Bachmann- has a chance for the nomination, let alone beating Bamster’s Thug Machine?
This is all about the media consigning the runners up to the trash pile.
There must be a better way.
PA Guy on August 13, 2011 at 5:11 PM
If it was me I would take a free ticket from Bachmann and write in Palin but that’s just me.
unseen on August 13, 2011 at 5:13 PM
You seem wildly obsessed with making negative comments about Bachmann. Do you even eat or sleep?
Buddahpundit on August 13, 2011 at 5:14 PM
I also multitask. you should try it.

Posting how much money Bachmann spent on tickets, is just reporting the facts…Deal with it.
idesign on August 13, 2011 at 5:21 PM
Why not Britney, Paris or Mickey Mouse?? They are not running either.
Southernblogger on August 13, 2011 at 5:36 PM
Thanks.

If Ron Paul comes in second place in the straw poll = epic fail. I will laugh really hard.
stefanite on August 13, 2011 at 5:40 PM
A reporter for AmSpec thinks he’s seeing about equal turnout for Paul and Pawlenty’s camps, with Bachmann way ahead.
Could Paul actually place third?
KingGold on August 13, 2011 at 5:51 PM
I’ve noticed that there is a hyperventilating sneeriness to the anti-Bachmann types that is more indicative of leftist political discourse than conservative. I’ve done goodallesque studies of libs so I’ve familiarized myself with some of their primitive characteristics.
Buddahpundit on August 13, 2011 at 5:56 PM
really? Are you going to continue acting like a child unable to deal with facts? God you antipalin people are immature idiots of the highest order.

You are the one who comes to MB threads to bash her. Maybe you forgot that. There are plenty of
PariPalin threads to build her up.Southernblogger on August 13, 2011 at 6:16 PM
