Apparently Carr was hired as a columnist by Pinch because Bob Herbert and Frank Rich were just too subtle in their condescension towards flyover country.
Wow. Goes to show that no region has a monopoly on bigotry. Points for honesty, I guess.

Ummm…you couldn’t be more wrong.
If it comes from New York (or any East or West Coast) elitist, its simply informed and enlightened rhetoric designed to inspire thought provoking conversation. To evoke a visceral response, surely, but only to grab the attention of the audience.
This statement is obviously being taken out of context as it was simply meant to elevate discourse to a higher plane of reasoned, rational verbal interchange.

Of course they do. It’s raised by the people with low-sloping foreheads who live in flyover country like Missouri and Kansas. The problem in these jackwagons’ minds is that they (our betters in NY, DC, etc) have been way too generous with what those low-sloping foreheads have been permitted to do and to have. The betters are now working to get their hands around that and make sure that the low-slopes better know their place and appreciate the survival rations and care that they will soon be allocated.
Blowback

Wow and I felt bad about New York after 9/11… hmmm maybe I was too quick to judge.

David Carr was born and raised in Minnesota.
aquaviva on June 26, 2011 at 2:51 PM
Oh, but he has risen above that because he was destined for greatness–after all, he is at the New York Times.

Jackhole has no idea where all his food comes from. Then again elitist aholes are pretty clueless all around, so no big surprise here.

Speaking of “low-sloping foreheads,” did he get a load of Bill Maher?

Not as an insult.
I’m surprised you took it that way.

If he’d said “dance of the low hanging beer bellies” I would have bought it.

Simple bigotry.
No more. No less.
To say something that sweeping about a perceived group of people is not an opinion, its a bias.
