Poll: Third-most disliked Republican is … Paul Ryan?
Democrats are winning the messaging war on Rep. Paul Ryan’s bid to overhaul Medicare, with a new Bloomberg poll finding 57 percent of Americans believe they would be worse off under his plan.
Only 34 percent said they would be better off if Congress replaced “traditional Medicare” with a program to purchase private insurance with government subsidies, as Ryan has proposed.
The poll also found Ryan is now the nation’s third most disliked Republican, with net unfavorable ratings that trail only former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. But more than half surveyed said they have no opinion of the Wisconsin Republican.

I love Ryan. He’s my second choice after Palin. I hope he runs.

BS – Ryan is a class act – any idiot with a brain can see that.
Oh wait – maybe some polled were Democrats?

Beat me to it, number one.
Number two, just how many Republicans are that well-known these days? It says that only Gingrich and Palin are worse off than he is.
Which means that pretty much our entire Congressional leadership, including Boehner, and our entire slate of presidential contenders minus Gingrich, are doing fine.

Hitler thought he was winning the war too, then reality crashed down around his ears.
I wonder who will be the most hated politician when these various government programs cause the economy to finally expire.

Bloomberg poll. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
When it comes to polling, me thinks the bloom is off the berg. Especially on this one.
capejasmine on June 23, 2011 at 3:40 PM
Was this a Dem-commissioned poll or something? Where is the question about who the most disliked Dem is?
Regardless, Ryan as the 3rd most disliked is insanity. He’s not a bomb thrower…he’s one of the few actually trying to come up with solutions. God forbid THAT.
changer1701 on June 23, 2011 at 3:41 PM
Disliked Republicans? It’s been a few hours since we heard the Gospel according to Meghan McCain here.
MassVictim on June 23, 2011 at 3:42 PM
Agreed. There is no way this is not a heavily partisan polling sample at work. Palin is the most disliked Republican, with Ryan not far behind? Only if you don’t poll Republicans. I could believe one or the other from a fair sample, but not both.
Caiwyn on June 23, 2011 at 3:43 PM
In other news, when I insisted my four-year-old eat his pot roast last night, I was voted most-disliked parent.

“57 percent of Americans”. I reckon it’s an “adults” poll, not “registered” or “likely” voters, and I’ll just assume the partisan breakdown is ridiculous because it usually is – especially if they are afraid to release the stats.
I wonder why they only asked if “will you be better off” and didn’t ask “will your children be better off” or “will the United State of America be more or less likely to survive” or even “do you favor or oppose the proposal”? A reasonable person might answer that they themselves might not be better off, but it needs to be done anyway.

Because outside of the Gingrich family, nobody thinks Newt has a chance. Unlike Sarah Palin, who lots of people (mistakenly or otherwise) think has a chance.

well, I am convinced.
We should raise taxes and seize the wealth of the rich. And by rich, I mean state employee union pensions.

The libs/media have seen their path to victory with what they’ve done to Palin. Conservatives who have capitulated, indulged in their slander and chosen not to stand with her, they’re gonna do it to your guy/gal next… and next, and next. You were warned.

Yet, for some reason, a near majority want him to run for president(48 for 40 against), including 57% of the beloved independents.

Tony737 on June 23, 2011 at 3:56 PM
Let me get this straight
1) We don’t know the breakdown of the poll
2) Over half of the people don’t have an opinion of him
But yet we are supposed to take this poll as valid why exactly?

Well, if that’s the case, it’s time for the GOP to perform its patented act of tossing him overboard once the media sets its eyes on him. We can’t stick up for our own, that’d be non-bi-partisan.

Notice the video in the sidebar of this article: “Ryan heckled at town hall.” It’s that same MSNBC video of a single person trying to stir up crap at a townhall in which he was actually well received, which MSNBC tries to misrepresent as “Backlash!”
Between that, the lack of crosstabs, and the fact that more than half of the respondents had no opinion on Ryan, this is really nothing more than a hit piece.

How does Gingrich get the #2 ranking for most disliked Republican? He has been out of office since the 1990s and aside from his one week campaign launch, has been a relative obscure figure on the political scene.
I call shenanigans.
Outlander on June 23, 2011 at 4:14 PM
Well, in one sense, they’re right, as benefits will eventually be reduced.
However, they’ll be a LOT worse off if the country doesn’t reform entitlements and ends up on the *ss-end of a debt crisis.
The choices are not ideal but one is far better than the other.

Bloomberg: In a dramatic display of liberal manipulation, a new study shows that the most disliked Republican is actually a tie between all Republicans.
You heard it here first America!
hisfrogness on June 23, 2011 at 4:19 PM
Of course the partisan breakdown is “known,” dumbass. Bloomberg and Politico are just LYING about it.
But, frankly, they’re not lying all that well. Is there really somebody who doesn’t know this is the same group of “Americans” who desperately want Huntsman to run against Obama?

Are you over 55?
Your medicare is untouched.
Are you under 55?
You’ve got two options:
1. Medicare goes bankrupt in 2020.
2. Make necessary changes to save the safety net for our seniors
Your choice.

And yet I would bet that 100% of that 57% couldn’t describe with accuracy what Paul Ryan’s plan is.
The media create the narrative, spin the narrative, and then poll on the narrative. It’s called a circle jerk for ObaMao and the Dems.
