Newest cause of global warming: Internet searches
Depending on how long you took and what sites you visited, your search caused the emission of one to 10 grams of carbon into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming.
Sure, it’s not a lot on its own — but add up all of the more than one billion daily Google searches, throw in 60 million Facebook status updates each day, 50 million daily tweets and 250 billion emails per day, and you’re making a serious dent in some Greenland glaciers.

Yikes, someone ask Mittens about this.
Was just reading on Drudge the Australian columnist who wants Global Warming Deniers forcibly tattoo’d. Like concentration camp prisoners. In his article he cites such experts as celebrity actress Cate Blanchett.

LOL How ’bout that volcano in Iceland, huh?

Curse this ecologically destructive digital age! We should all ditch email and go back to transporting millions of paper letters by air, land and sea every day. And reading our news on large paper sheets which have been delivered by diesel spewing trucks. Only then can the earth start to heal.

Next cause of global warming? Sex. Or else the lack of sex. Doesn’t matter.

Hydro is not a clean energy. Is the author ignorant of the number of dams torn down?
Wind is not clean. Is the author ignorant of the millions of birds killed?
Solar is not reliable, and is not efficient. Is the author igorant of the amount of land which would be needed for panels?
KMC1 on June 6, 2011 at 9:10 AM
rbj; of course sex causes global warming. At least for those of us who might engage is some heavy breathing before, during and after. Of course, if that’s not you…
michaelo on June 6, 2011 at 9:11 AM
KMC1, also, the mining for and manufacturing of the rare earths of solar panels is massively destructive.

Funny comment from a poster from the Vancouver Sun as he points out … then it is Al Gore’s fault for destroying the planet.
And another one … all those websites with an online presence, who blame man, need to shut down right now.
And of course … Google must shut itself down to save the planet.
I’m sure they all will come up with a Harrison Ford like idiotic

Will the U.N. be putting me on trial for Crimes Against Humanity?
Tommy_G on June 6, 2011 at 9:15 AM
I am now dumber for having read that.
Red Cloud on June 6, 2011 at 9:16 AM
Absolutely. If you look at the manufacturing side of the equation, solar is a terrible environmental “solution”.
KMC1 on June 6, 2011 at 9:19 AM
Wait, I heard global warming is also caused by posting comments on blogs, the energy to process the request and put it down to permanent record can well do complex science that is beyond normal non-Nobel-winner understanding.

Shorter story: Climate change nuts need more grant money.
World Bank is up to the task of finding it.
It’s all about the money.

Nay, varlet! We shall return to the daze of smoke signals and drumbeats, passing them along so that the message may become garbled in transmission and therefore unintelligible! Much like Ø’s analytical skilz.

Seriously, I think some intern reporter is trying to punk the reading public in Vancouver and pwn him some liberals.

Next cause of global warming? Judaism. Or Christianity. Or both.

How convenient – I guess that is one way to revive print media.
Queen0fCups on June 6, 2011 at 9:57 AM
In other words, the next time someone starts preaching about the need for cap-n-trade, just tell them to get off the internet as their preaching is dumping carbon into the air.

ATTENTION–Breaking News!
The EPA has issued a directive that all persons will be fitted with a Gas Emission Sniffer starting January 1, 2011. Anyone exceeding the daily maximum allowance of breaking wind two times a day will be charged $1.50 for each excessive release of greenhouse gas. During campaign season politicians will not be subject to these rules for all the hot air they release. President Obama has said he will sign the directive and start wearing his GES immediately to do his part in fighting Global Warming.

One of my pet peeves, are these celebrity scientists that BBC has. They make these propaganda documentaries telling everyone else they must not use energy while lying around the globe. From Tierra del Fuego to the Artic – they’ve never heard of stock footage. There is always the obligatory shot of them standing alone on a mountain that can only be reached by helicopter. What hypocrites!
Blake on June 6, 2011 at 10:58 AM
The authors of these type of articles are always ignorant of science and economics when they write about feel good solutions that will never-ever work.
