Romney: “I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that”
In addressing climate change and energy policy, Romney called on the United States to break its dependence on foreign oil, and expand alternative energies including solar, wind, nuclear and clean coal.
“I love solar and wind (power) but they don’t drive cars. And we’re not all going to drive Chevy Volts,” he said referring to electric cars.
The United States can not go it alone in attempting to trim emissions levels and give a free pass to countries such as China and Brazil, Romney said. “It’s not called American warming, it’s called global warming,” he said.
Software developer Michael Hillinger, 60, of Hanover, New Hampshire, posed the climate change question.

I agree about Palin needing to clarify her position on this — she was pretty murky just a couple of years ago even though every thinking conservative knew by then that AGW was bunk. She was very wishy-washy at the time.

Doubt that. Not after “hide the decline” and the hockey-stick graph. That’s why the article here even states that Romney’s remarks break with the GOP.

Why should she? All she has to do at this point is stand back and let everyone else implode. By the time her caravan hits Iowa she’ll be the last one standing.

Warn people if you’re linking to C4P. If I’m going to lose brain cells, I’d rather it be caused by drinking beer.
I wish my Dremel tool spun that hard. If it did, I could cut through 1″ carbide steel faster than a plasma torch.
It was a gaffe. They happen to everybody. Trying to spin it as intentional just makes you look silly and dishonest.

I wouldn’t say it’s so much a gaffe as a failure to use prose worthy of a Henry Adams, which is the only thing Palin could ever do that would pass muster with some PDSers. Wait, then it would be “ghostwritten”. Scratch that.
pseudoforce on June 3, 2011 at 5:23 PM
Yeah, he could join with Obama to save the country from those radical extremists known as the GOP base. He is the most dangerous kind of person to put in office because he doesn’t have a solid set of principles voters can count on. He just wants power. Actually, it seems Romneys generally crave power. Even his mother Lenore ran for the U.S Senate.
flyfisher on June 3, 2011 at 5:24 PM
Just admit you are an idiot and save us all time. You know you don’t like Gov Palin because she makes you reveal how much of an idiot you are.

Good-freakin’ bye, Mitt-ens! (Unless you’re enough of a squish to change your mind to “climate change, not anthropogenically induced.) “Believe” is a term denoting state of acceptance without requirement of evidence, as in “I believe there is one God.” The term should NEVER be applied to science, nor should consensus, nor should hidden, unverifiable data be used to determine energy policy nor a tax upon the use of energy.

Tell me- which candidate do you believe would, in a general election, publicly state that humans are in no way responsible for any amount of “climate change” or “global warming”?
Hollowpoint on June 3, 2011 at 5:35 PM
This is why some here get called “cultish”, what you just posted is blind devotion plain and simple.
I can’t believe you just admitted to not caring what her position is on a very important issue, an issue that affects the lives of every American (lightbulbs, anyone?).
Unbelieveable.
You cannot deny that there’s a cult when this kind of thing gets posted.

Didn’t T-Paw disavow his earlier support for Cap & Tax and his belief in man made global warming? If he’s the eventual nominee, are you saying that he will once again change his stated position only one year after having changed sides in the run up to POTUS campaign?
Gohawgs on June 3, 2011 at 5:57 PM
That must mean that Pawlenty and Romney were (and one still is) wrong…
Gohawgs on June 3, 2011 at 6:00 PM
ROFL! Dude, did you really just refuse to accept a fact because of where it was found? Wow! Would you accept the information from the bloody Massachusetts Historical Society? Or are they ignorant of history as well. Please, do tell where Palin got it wrong?
Once again, you should check your facts before reaffirming your ignorance…and thereby stupidity.

odat on June 3, 2011 at 6:03 PM
Why should she? Are you kidding? ALL the candidates answer to us, I don’t care how much of a following one has, they all need to clarify themselves.
If I ever saw Palin in my hometown, I put her statements about carbon caps to her and if she wasn’t ready for it, she would have her own embarrassing Joe the Plummer moment.
Daemonocracy on June 3, 2011 at 6:04 PM
I believe psuedoforce is referring to her not declaring her candidacy, not dodging policy questions. She obviously has answered her policy questions each time they are asked. See: subsidies and mandates. IF you asked her about carbon caps, she’d answer you.
