“Mr. President, how could I buy one of these small businesses you’re talking about?”
President:”Buy a big one, and wait”
The imitation of Obama on SNL is really very straight and dignified. There are rich veins of comedy gold they’re not even going for. His head could bob left to right when he talks. They could throw in his catch phrases … “Let me be clear. I’ve said this all along”. He could stutter and stammer with I, I, I, uh, uh, uh, I, uh. He could spout meaningless generalities, which is what Obama does. He could say stuff that’s completely at odds with reality, such as on the budget. He could do a shout out to the crowd, saunter up in his cool, without a care, step by step deliberate walk, give someone one of his faux Hollywood hugs, put on his big smile, and point at some people in the crowd. There’s so much they could do and they don’t do any of it.
What’s sad is Obama is ripe for mockery and satire, but so few comedians have the stones to go after him. His physical appearance(not skin color, but large ears, skinny wiry frame, etc.), that annoying way he says the letter S, his numerous verbal gaffes(57 states, “corpse-man”, confusing Iraq with Afghanistan, etc.), his overuse of the word “uh”, his disengaged persona, his incompetent and destructive policies, his overreliance on the teleprompter, his inability to answer a question at a press conference without rambling incoherently for 10 minutes, and his constant string of broken campaign promises.
Any one of those could be milked by comedians and writers to great effect. And it wouldn’t even have to be done in a mean or divisive way. Sure, ultra-lefties and hyperpartisans would hate it, but they make up at most about 10-20% of the population. That leaves a huge untapped audience out there which seems inexplicable to me.

Remember when they did Nixon in 1975, and have him going on with some off the wall anecdote, and they would try to get his attention. They could do something similar with Obama, some version of asking him the time and getting a 10 minute lecture on how a watch is made, and doing the same thing they did with Nixon, which is to try to get him back to reality.
Even THIS guy is tentative in his routine, God bless him.
I can’t wait for the day when ALL God’s children will be FREE to mock at will, at ANY time, day or night, on stage, sitcom, reality show or UNSCRIPTED!
Please, Baby Jesus, grant my prayer.
That President Present be cast from his rarified air.
May his halo slip off and get caught on his ears.
While his teleprompter shatters amongst mighty cheers!
Thou knowest I mean these things not in cruel spite,
(Or to cast that sad LOSER in even worse light…)
But to maketh the playing field level at last,
For your children who’ve suffered “Late Night” in the past.
[Lay your hand on the dashboard]
Hallelujah!
Amen.
It’s funny because it’s true! Remember how freaked out they all got after TOTUS hit the scene? They had to slap it down like it was a serious critique of Obama or insist that it just wasn’t funny for the very reason that it was funny AND true AND was a light-hearted way to poke a little fun at their deity.
You mean to tell me libtard comics are not fearless rebels but are actually proud little statists supporting their godless religion of giant government ?
It would be fantastic to publish Obama and Biden joke books with a release date of April Fool’s Day 2012. There is so much material, and it would be great to laugh these guys out of office!

Well, you see, they are artists. And because they are so creative and free spirited, they are left with no choice but to hold the same political views as every other “non-conformist” on earth.
All you have to do is listen to the normally ardent liberal crowds at SNL, Chelsea Lately, even The View yesterday…
They dont laugh at the Palin, Bush jokes as much, or at all.
And if you happened to sit through yesterdays View-Trump chat – when Woopie tried the ole “I am sure it has nothing to do with Obama being a black man, noone asked any white Presidents for their birth certificates”… tepid applause – considering it came after a spirited round for Trumps “I want to see his birth certificate”
Woopie tried really hard to continue the race baiting, but it failed miserably.
I am convinced 70-80% of the country think Obama is an embarrassment to America, regardless of their ideological glasses – but only 50% have the honesty to admit it.
Its fun having a chat with liberals these days. They are bankrupt and it shows.
While that’s all true, it works both ways. Trying making a Sarah Palin joke around here. Her goons come out to “protect” her. Any messiah figure will attract a cult following.

I’ve never heard anyone around here try to make a Sarah Palin joke, unless you count her detractors who think she is the joke.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I don’t think Sarah Palin needs protection. You insult me for my support of her, and my gloves come right off, douchebag.

Why can’t comics do a joke about Obama?
Because you can’t do a joke about a joke!

Tim Wilkins, a (gasp, white!) comedian from Florida does a really good Obama impression. Here’s a few links:

Yeah, this about covers it.
However, the right is not immune to this same problem… enough said?
Developmentally disabled. It is definitely hard to respect someone you can’t criticize.

One of the oldest jokes in the book is this: “How do you make a small fortune in Israel? Go to Israel with a large fortune.”
It’s still funny, though.
