Phyllis Schlafly: Conservative women aren’t feminists
“Palin is not a feminist because she doesn’t adopt the victimology notion of the feminists,” Schlafly told The Daily Caller. “Jessica Valenti defined feminism in the Washington Post a few weeks ago as people who believe the patriarchy oppresses women and women can never succeed.”
Schlafly says that while the new breed of conservative women are strong and empowered they are the opposite of what it means to be a feminist.
“A litmus test for feminists is to agree with abortion and Obamacare and so I think there is really no such thing as a conservative feminist. They are the women of the left,” Schlafly said. “[The feminists] are really spooked by Palin because she’s done everything and she is a success. Besides she is pretty and they cannot stand her.”

I work in a building full of woman, I can assure you there is two different sets of rules.
It was made clear *I could be fired because I was a man* if there was any note of unwanted attention. My female co-workers? They do what they please.

You can’t be a feminist, until you learn how to leverage your man’s success, and make it your own…that is the definition of a feminist now.
Most every “feminist” has their “man’s” success and money sponsoring them.
Arianna, Hillary, Pelosi, all the icons have built their reputation and achievements because a man has done it for them.
That’s why Sarah can’t be a feminist, and many other conservative women, they actually accomplish things on their own.

At first I thought this was going to be another whiney feminazi going after Palin for calling herself a feminist. It turns out it’s a conservative woman saying that Palin is better than the feminists. I think I’ll have to read up on Phyllis Schafly to find out more about her.

Good for you! Enjoy it while still taking it for granted that the two sexes are different – not unequal.

Palin is trying to co-opt the feminist label just to irritate the lefties. And she is doing a pretty good job of it (irritating lefties – that is). However, I agree with Schlafly, Palin and conservative women need their own term to express what they are trying to accomplish for women. “Feminism” is irrevocably tainted with vicitmization. Throw the word out and start over, quit trying to rehabilitate it.

Didn’t one of those CPAC kids say to that aggrieved white nationalist, “I’m not white, I’m Irish”? So what self-defining label is not tainted with allegations of victimization these days?

Palin and other strong conservative women hew to the more traditional definition of the word. I think she is just trying to take it back from them. But possibly it’s a lost cause. The liberals co-opted that word and now classical liberals have to refer to themselves as conservative. This is just what the left does. Palin may be better off coining a new word for this third-wave of “feminism.” She’s pretty good at doing that anyway.

Except that Palin really is a feminist. Her “Neanderthal” comment proves it. I have no need for feminists of any stripe.
