Surprise: Loughner was a 9/11 Truther
The friends’ comments paint a picture bolstered by other former classmates and Loughner’s own Internet postings: that of a social outcast with nihilistic, almost indecipherable beliefs steeped in mistrust and paranoia…
Mistrust of government was Loughner’s defining conviction, the friends said. He believed the U.S. government was behind 9/11, and worried that governments were maneuvering to create a unified monetary system (“a New World Order currency” one friend said) so that social elites and bureaucrats could control the rest of the world…
Over time, Loughner became increasingly introspective — what one of the friends described as a “nihilistic rut.”
An ardent atheist, he began to characterize people as sheep whose free will was being sapped by the government and the monotony of modern life…
“He appeared to be to me an emotional cripple or an emotional child,” Coorough said. “He lacked compassion, he lacked understanding and he lacked an ability to connect.”

how much extra damage did the left and media do to the country this weekend?
rob verdi on January 10, 2011 at 5:52 AM
I imagine most posters here have come to the same conclusion that I have. This was another Columbine Virginia Tech massacre and horrifying in its own right, but many in the msm and the netroots have committed such egregious acts of exploitation and poisonous commentary that they have dishonored themselves and hurt the country..

too much imo…
cmsinaz on January 10, 2011 at 6:15 AM
amen…they won’t apologize and acknowledge what they have done
cmsinaz on January 10, 2011 at 6:15 AM
cmsinaz,
indeed, but what these monsters failed to appreciate was that a GOP House is now in existence. When Republicans put forward massive cuts in the next month, will these patrons of civility tone down their rhetoric?
rob verdi on January 10, 2011 at 6:20 AM
Oh, they’re already readying gun ban legislation and a bill to prevent the use of “threatening images” in campaign ads (by which, of course, they mean Republican ads, where suddenly even a puppy dog will be interpreted as violent).
Never let an opportunity go to waste, right? Looks like Obama got the Oklahoma City moment he needed. *gag*

i think not…tingles will lead in the spew

This guy is severely mentally disturbed, and I think that is that. Anyone who tries to make sense of the thought processes of someone who is paranoid schizophrenic is engaging in a fairly fruitless endeavor. Just try having an indepth logical conversation with that person (if they’re not on medication) and see how far you get.
If this guy weren’t so extremely disturbed (because obviously not all those diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia are homicidal), I’d say investigate his motivations all the way. But nothing about this guy is going to make sense to anyone. It doesn’t matter if he was left-wing or right-wing or wingless, it was just a matter of time before he found an excuse for his actions. I just don’t think his ideologies are pertinent, because he’s not seeing them the way you or I would see them.

An atheist and a truther. I wonder if that Sheriff ever spouted any truther beliefs around town. Maybe he’s to blame.
JellyToast on January 10, 2011 at 6:37 AM
A truther? So its Joy Behar’s fault then. After all fire can’t melt steel right?

I once met someone who wrapped his watch in cellophane to keep invisible monsters from attacking time with their dirty little eyeballs.
Jared is of the same ilk.

When you are 23, I think you have some better things to do with your time like chasing skirts or doing beer funnels, than to worry about a worldwide currency, and planning to assassinate congressmen to prevent it from happening. Oh well, he can do all that other stuff when he gets out of prison in 140 years.

Truther? I blame Rosie O’Donnell and The View.

What a joker.
itsnotaboutme on January 10, 2011 at 7:24 AM
Not just a “truther”.
Fox and Friends, about an hour ago, showed a photo taken in Loughner’s yard where he had a somewhat hidden display that included a human skull in a tub of sand, along with other oddball items. Has this been described other places yet?

Is it possible that the MSM has sealed their fate in ever being taken seriously by going out on the limb so far, so quickly?
I hope everyone who knee-jerkingly uttered Sarah’s, Glenn’s, Rush’s name get the pants sued off them.

Not only a troofer, but apparently he had a soft spot for the occult.
Yep, sounds like a “teabagger” alright.

Bet he was a big Alex Jones fan
of course, Judge Napalitano of Fox News is also a light “Truther”.

There’s only one group in the supposed “political Right” this guy would be associated with, and that is Lew Rockwell clique(i.e. Ron Paul’s truest supporters). They definitely believe in this currency stuff, 9/11 skepticism, “New World Order”, etc…and overlap with Alex Jones and Co.
and they, absolutely Hate Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck with a passion as deep as the Left in this country.
This being the political area(Anarchist) where the far right(Anarcho-capitalist) and the far left(Chomsky, Moore, etc.) meet and ALLY with each other. They regularly look for foreign Policy insight from Glenn Greenwald at LRC.

Well, the solution is obvious.
We must ban landscaping, palm trees, middle-class neighborhoods, iPods, dog ownership and hooded sweat shirts.

Loughner being a Truther was about as certain as a crooked Chicago judge ruling Rahm Emanuel eligible to run for mayor.
What that old curmudgeon McLaughlin calls “metaphysical certitude” and our WW II military called SNAFU.
