Why isn’t New Hampshire on Palin’s book tour itinerary?
“The longer you stay away, the more conspicuous it gets,’’ said Fergus Cullen, former chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party. “Part of what baffles me is she’s been doing political events in other states. She’s gone to Iowa, and she’s spoken at party committee events in Oklahoma, Florida, and Oregon. It’s not like she’s got a blanket prohibition on these sorts of things’’
Palin did not return e-mail and phone messages yesterday, but her publisher said it’s all about demographics and dollars.
“The cities on the book [tour] were chosen based on where we have strong retail accounts and where Harper believes Governor Palin’s fans are strong,’’ said Tina Andreadis, a spokeswoman for HarperCollins. “We have a limited amount of time to conduct this tour, so we want to maximize the attendance at all the events.’’

NH is a small State and with Allahpundit’s 24/7 Palin coverage it isn’t necessary for her to go there

Who gives a fcuk about NH?
OmahaConservative on November 24, 2010 at 7:49 PM
I didn’t even know there was such a thing as the New Hampshire Republican Party.

You mean the one that just won two house races and retained a Senate seat for the GOP???
The reason why Palin isn’t in NH, because even she understands that she doesn’t play well there.
Illinidiva on November 24, 2010 at 7:58 PM
Gee, I don’t know why Fergus. Why don’t you ask her publisher?… They are the ones that arrange the book tours.
Are there book stores in New Hampshire? If so, do they have the volume of business that would make it worth the thousands of dollars ti would cost to get her there?
LegendHasIt on November 24, 2010 at 8:04 PM
When was the last time they voted for a Republican presidential candidate? I mean Ralph Nader gave Bush the state in 2000 with his 4%, but before that? They haven’t voted Republican for 20 years or so.
sharrukin on November 24, 2010 at 8:05 PM
Her endorsees up there won, so there goes that left wing talking point.
She’s just behind Willard in NH, barely, and wins Maine and Wisconsin in the latest polling. Maine is the state with two left wing Republicans, and yet they like her best.
Sarah’s got a lot on her plate right now and isn’t politicin’. Right now she’s selling books. Make the big bucks while she can, all of that will stop when she announces, and at that points she’ll go out and do some retail hand shakin’
gary4205 on November 24, 2010 at 8:11 PM
Maybe she’s just not that into you…
Big John on November 24, 2010 at 8:44 PM
Well, I think her initial info states she scheduled 16 stops. There are 50 states, so she can’t hit all of them. She may add others later.
Oh, and she did endorse Ayotte, who won, so she apparently has at least some influence there.
Besides, aren’t most pundits already stating Romney should pick up NH? Why make a big investment of time & energy there before announcing, and setting up the “Romney’s ahead, though she’s worked hard there…” narrative?

Why does the Boston Globe hate New Hampshire so much?
logis on November 24, 2010 at 9:38 PM
1) No one outside Morrissey Blvd much cares what the Boring Broadsheet has to say about anything.
2) Sarah was in Boston for the last book tour, IIRC, and certainly in Boston for the Tea Party rally last summer.
She is more well liked than you’d think in this neck of the woods.
Having said that, Sarah, I’d like a signed copy of both books and not have to travel to Peoria or Wasilla to get one!
turfmann on November 24, 2010 at 9:44 PM
Maybe because Sarah’s smart enough to understand that the 2012 New Hampshire primary, being open, is going to be flooded with Democrats voting for the Republican of their choice, ie; the one they fear the least.
Why bother?
Better to concentrate on the states that don’t have such an easily gamed primary and yields more delegates, Florida, South Carolina and the early primary mid-west states.
The keys to the GOP candidate’s victory in 2012 will be holding the south and mountain west and winning the ground war in the newly blood red mid-west (including Penn.), isolating Obama to the northeast corridor and the left coast with a massive sea of red between the two.
SuperCool on November 24, 2010 at 9:59 PM
Look again. New Hampshire is the only state in the New England area where GOP has a sort of foothold (for one, we have new Republican senator, Kelly Ayotte, another Palin endorsee, from New Hampshire; she won handily, by the way).
On topic, though, I’d imagine New Hampshire is not on her signing tour itinerary because the book signing is not some kind of preparation for her currently nonexistent 2012 candidacy. Why can’t people just believe Mrs. Palin when she says she’s thinking about it but hasn’t made her mind up?
novakyu on November 24, 2010 at 10:42 PM
But she also knows that New Hampshire is King Retail.
She’ll go. But the fact is, normally, the Establishment doesn’t expect her to come in any better than second or third there. If she comes in a strong second, it’s Lyndon Johnson time for Mittens. Also, let’s be clear, the fact that it’s an open primary state works to her advantage. Stupid Dhimmies will want to vote for her, thinking she’s an easy mark for Chicago Jesus.
Romney doesn’t realize it yet because he doesn’t know it and his consultants don’t think like insurgents; but New Hampshire is where Palin is going to set up an ambush. I can just taste it. She’ll bring in the Adrienne Ross types from all over the Northeast, real shock troops who will liase with native New Hampshire Palin supporters to blitz the state in several waves. Mittens won’t know what hit him when the negative ads about what Mittcare did to healthcare premiums in Massachussetts start airing on FOX outlets and on social media platforms.
I suspect she’s staying away from New Hampshire right now because she wants her game to keep on grazing. That’s what I would do if I were her.

Oh Man…sorry I missed this thread, but I’m here in NH and the wind is telling me F You
Del Dolemonte on November 24, 2010 at 11:08 PM
Mittens Romney or some other RINO will win there.
Why should she waste her time?
Valiant on November 24, 2010 at 11:25 PM
Note the plaintive tone. What does the NH Republican party care about Palin anyway?
ddrintn on November 24, 2010 at 11:57 PM
It wouldn’t shock me to see a few dates get added to the list of stops, New Hampshire being one of them.
A few House districts in Upstate NY where her endorsements helped knock off incumbent Dems is probably a good idea too.

Believe it or not, you can get a signed copy of the new one at Amazon.com for the same price as unsigned or you can contribute $100 to SarahPAC and get a signed copy that way!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Maybe the book tour is a means to sell her books not a political tour?
