Guess what Charles Blow’s writing about this week
The Tea Party is a Frankenstein movement — an odd collection of factions, loosely stitched together, where the head, to the extent that it exists, fails to control the body.
It has attracted hordes of the disaffected with differing interests, including some who’ve openly expressed their dark racial prejudices and others who polls suggest harbor more subtle and less visible biases. Opposition to President Obama triggers a political Pavlovian response among some of these people, and they want to ally themselves with others around a common enemy.
It’s unlikely that appeals from the top, however earnest, will expunge them.

Wrong reaction. Read them and laugh. I think the commenters there are hilarious.

The majority of the Tea Party’s opponents think the Tea Partiers are racist… So Blow and the other lib racists think their opponents are racists? heh

We’re not the racists, Blow J*b. We didn’t vote for the first azzclown to come along with the “right” skin color, then get all butthurt when folks who have been demonized for eight years criticize him for his inexperience and thuggishness.
I’d call Blow J*b a waaahmbulance, but I don’t care enough.

This buffoon is leading by 20 points in the running for the ‘Best Used Roll of TP” award.

I couldn’t give a blankity-blank what Charles Blow is writing about. I’ve said a thousand times, a link to an Ann Coulter column would be nice now and then. When I remember to look for a new one they are always worth a smile or two, if not a LOL.

The next op-ed by Charles Blow.

SOMEBODY has never bothered to read the novel. The creature was quite intelligent and profoundly philosophical, superhumanly mobile, focused, driven and absolutely lethal to anyone he targeted. That’s a much better TP analogy, if I say so myself.
splink on May 9, 2010 at 8:09 AM
Also, the creature eventually proved himself morally superior to its selfish creator, who was obsessed with hubris and self-promotion, seeking to destroy that which he himself caused to exist.
Is there anyone today that might rightly be compared to Dr. F as the “creator” of the Tea Party “creature”? Not Palin, trolls, so don’t bother with that one.

When I saw “Guess what Charles Blow is writing about this week” I assumed he was writing about Arizona. Since that will probably be his editorial next week, you’re probably right.

That was devastating. I don’t even know what to say.

His entire thesis is rendered moot by his observation that:
There is no way to know how many Tea Party supporters — or supporters of any group — are motivated by racism, or to what degree… There are no easy answers, but blanket accusations and denials are worthless and disingenuous.
You’ve just made the Tea Partiers entire point for them, Charles Blow. Every group is going to include a small number of unsavory members. This doesn’t discredit the entire movement, you tool.
Here’s your sign….
stevezilla on May 9, 2010 at 9:33 AM
Yep. If there’s no way to know, the number COULD be zero. Or one. Or five. Out of (at a minimum) hundreds of thousands.
splink on May 9, 2010 at 9:37 AM
Sorry but, the tea partiers are the American people. Besides, opponents of the movement will do and say anything to tarnish those who stand up for what is right.

How much it sucks to be him?
