GOP
Michael Steele’s new blog: “What Up?”
Why are you are Republican? Think about that for a minute.
When I was old enough to vote, my Mother advised me to pick the Party that was committed to protecting my God-given Liberties. I did my research and made my choice with my Mother’s advice in mind—how did you make yours?

From a professional, a two-minute user-interface/design analysis:
Graphically, the site is a turn off, regardless of messaging content. (I didn’t even get far enough to read.)
- As in all visual communications, the color red assaults and strains the eye especially when overused.
- Red has negative connotations (think debt).
- Red can be used effectively to draw attention when used minimally. (Like the flame dotting the “i” in Hot Air.)
- Blue is a good color, representing stability (ever-present sky) and often associated with business.
- Red, white and blue are especially good in combination when communicating patriotic themes. (Duh!)
- Red, white and blue are good colors with the addition of a neutral field to avoid stark contrast.
Don’t avoid effective colors just to be cutesy “RED is for Republican.” Dems do not hold the copyright on blue despite the red state/blue state mapping nonsense.
Mr. Steele: Go back to your designer and ask for effective communication design.

and I thought you were kidding. I swear, I need eye protection every time I visit Mad King Chuckle’s blog to keep my eyes from rolling out of my head.
aikidoka on October 13, 2009 at 2:50 PM
How about getting on with that?

I love the comments here. This is what disheartens me the most. People here, blogs like this, are full of great ideas on freedom and free markets, but with no party standing with us, we can accomplish very little politically.

unintentionally funny question of the day.
sesquipedalian on October 13, 2009 at 2:50 PM
Ergo, if you post here, consider running for office. Seriously.
kc8ukw on October 13, 2009 at 2:51 PM
Holy !
If you’re gonna say it, say it right.
It’s “S’up dawg?”
BowHuntingTexas on October 13, 2009 at 2:52 PM
Ugh…okay, I can finally see the first page of the blog, but I cannot post a comment or ‘read further’.

Next thing you know and Steele will be doing commercials for Delta Airlines.
Dr.Cwac.Cwac on October 13, 2009 at 2:53 PM
Here here. In fact, if they’d do the former, they’d find out just how “relevant” it is.
kc8ukw on October 13, 2009 at 2:57 PM
Ebonics is guaranteed to rally the base! All the posts’ll be kewwlll!
Feedie on October 13, 2009 at 2:59 PM
I guess I’ll have to wait until the middle of the night to access the freakin’ site.
Maddening. I have my own tiny, teeny website and I can handle traffic. Come on, Steele!!
bridgetown on October 13, 2009 at 3:01 PM
Why does Steele keep doing this? Does he not hear us whenever he makes these hip/ebonics comments?
Look, Steele, you doing this is as obnoxious as Obama speaking to largely black SEIU audiences or blacks in Selma Alabama and suddenly deciding he wasn’t raised by white grandparents and attended elite schools, but is from the streets, playa.
RightWinged on October 13, 2009 at 3:01 PM
I finally got the site to load and I’m underwhelmed. It looks amateurish at best.
There’s also a glaring typo in the title to Michael Steele’s column…oh, wait, it’s more of his hip-hop horse s**t. I can’t stand that jackass.
It would be better for Steele to ask, “Why are you a former Republican?”.
My answere is, “RINOs and jackasses”.

This is an example why I sent back my latest RNC $$ request letter a few weeks ago saying I was no longer contributing to anything except SarahPAC, or like minded candidates (like Michele Bachmann, DeMint, etc.). The GOP and RNC are a joke and dead in my book…
davek70 on October 13, 2009 at 3:07 PM
Yeah, I want Steele walking around my we browser. Ugh.

bitsy on October 13, 2009 at 3:10 PM
I would comment if I could. Apparantly the site can’t handle it right now.
bridgetown on October 13, 2009 at 3:11 PM
I went to the site earlier then emailed him about my disgust for RINO’s Snowe, McCain and Grahm and why they can expect no more contributions from me.

Oh brother. Looks like the RNC has a new web design. Supposedly “forward looking and blah, blah, blah…” All the while, there is a big dork who’s head makes the “O” in GOP. Again, what inept boobs.
ps Don’t get your hopes to high about actually seeing it. It looks like the site is going up and down and up and down. Have I called them inept boobs yet?
miConsevative on October 13, 2009 at 3:15 PM
lol, My boobs take offense.
Good Idea!! I shall definitely do that.

Who’s laughing NOW?
franksalterego on October 13, 2009 at 3:33 PM
Whatup or What’s Up? is that really the title of the RNC president’s blog? Could it be any more girl-like or juvenile? Better nothing than something from junior high.
How about something like: “It’s War” or “It’s ON” or if he wants to flaunt his black cred he could go with something like “no ‘mo ‘bama”
…..jes sayin’
tigerlily on October 13, 2009 at 3:47 PM
