Limbaugh’s rhetoric is fine. His statement makes perfect sense and is in no way controversial in the context in which it was said.
Is it too much to ask for someone’s comments to be used in context these days before accusing them of using poor rhetoric.
Bennett also has an issue with Obama being criticised this early in his presidency – but Obama has already made decisions that deserve criticism.
So, when does Bennett think it ok for conservatives to start criticising Obama’s policies and do we have to use the most anodyne language possible as we tip-toe around the new Messiah?
Bennett has been off message–or rather, on message for the Obomber–for several weeks now. Just another Inside Washington Republican straining to retain some relevance in Obama’s Washington. Sad and disappointing.
Pious ‘preachers’ out in droves. Ignore them. From the left, to the right, there’s been a mushrooming of holier-than-thou ‘lecturers’ lately. Get a life, all of you insignificant babblers.
Why is it that the left, along with milquetoast Republicans, insist that Conservatives have to be nicer than Jesus?
Jesus called his enemies snakes, dogs, devils, brainless, and hypocrites. He forcibly and violently evicted merchants from the Temple. He suggested that anyone who harmed one of the children should be given cement shoes (“a millstone tied around his neck and cast into the sea”).
The people that are attempting to bankrupt and destroy this nation are deserving of the same treatment. Rush is spot on hoping for the failure of the False Messiah and his policies.
I know, Jesus also said “love your enemies.” But He never said nor did He demonstrate that we should coddle, placate, or knuckle under to them.
Proper opposition to wicked and destructive rulership is both patriotic and Divinely sanctioned.
I listened to Dr. Bennett after 7:15 and on this morning, I believe until he spoke to Byron York, he thought the out of context quotes were accurate. If someone heard differently please let me know but I believe Byron explained the troop/mission, president/policy corrolation.
For once I agree with Limbaugh. It’s perfectly obvious what he meant. He hopes Obama fails, because if Obama succeeds, then the country suffers. There’s nothing spiteful about saying that.
And, no, his locution could not have been improved. He expressed his opposition to liberal policy in the strongest possible terms, honestly and unambiguously. The only way to interpret his words otherwise is to be dishonest about what he plainly meant (like Donna Brazile does in the clip).
Rush was also clear that in the things were he and Obama do/will agree he wishes him success but where they have differences he hopes that Obama fails (e.g., pushing our nation towards socialism and using the economic crisis to shore up organizations that support the Democrat party, etc). He in no way was hoping for the unqualified failure of the Obama presidency – unlike the hordes of moonbats that opposed anything Bush proposed just because it was Bush proposing it. The left loves to paint conservatives as being unhinged partisans when their side is much more rife with that kind of thinking and activity.
Hilarious! Is there a Boob Republican employment agency somewhere that CNN, MSNBC and the others use when they want to fein balance? Can’t the man just say that if Obama wants to do the country wrong, we just won’t stand for it, period? Is he worried about being disappeared or something, for God’s sake?
Why have so many prominent conservatives gotten so stupid all of a sudden?
Does Bennett want card check or the “Free Choice Act” to succeed?
It’s almost as if some evil liberal genius hooked Rosie O’Donnell up to a stupid ray and is using her amazing power of stupidity to stupefy conservatives.
Blowback

Comments over there are golden, Limbaugh’s a hatemonger/liar/druggie and none of them have ever listened to him.

Rush out of context: Outrageous hate monger.
Obama in context: it’s a distraction.

Doesn’t he still appear on CNN? Maybe that is what is going on…he needs to stay in the good graces of his bosses. Still, he’s all wet on this.

Another “conservative” jumped ship.
This is going to be a long four years. The republican party is in shambles.

No.
