I remember looking at one of the many, many Barack Obama biographies at Barnes and Noble (not the mention the Barack Obama “Hope” calendar they’re selling), and the quote/endorsement from some Chicago Trib writer on the front of the book said it was for Americans who want to know more about “their president”.
I kid you not.
Gack.

Here’s that calendar, by the way. I’ve never seen anything like this. I must not have been paying attention when one like this was marketed for Bush…except for that “Bushisms” thing.

McCain needs to bring a bagful of these to the debate and throw one at Barry each time he says “Uh.”
Since I count you all as friends, I’ll give you first dibs on my homemade “president innominatus” wooden nickel. Call in the next 10 minutes and get 2 for the price of none.
I’m getting me one of those. It will be like the upside down bi-plane on the stamp in the 1930′s that is worth $1 mil. today. Because it was a fluke and not worth anything at the time.
Gotta think about the future of Mrs. Obambis kids ya know.

I’m with him.
I want one of those suckers.
If Obama loses I will wear that hing everywhere I go just to be a prick.
It can have Obama’s face on one side of the coin and William Ayers face on the other side with “God Damn America” and “America’s chickens are coming home to roost” engraved on the outer edges.
I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if McCain were having memorabelia made, too. After all the election is not too far off, and there is a lead time on these things.
Still, T-shirts, I could understand, or buttons or something, but coins? Very, very hubris.
Blowback

Ummmm…I just don’t know what to say about this one. Will they have more value if he wins or doesn’t win?
Sheesh.

Exporting more jobs Americans could do.

Is this what he’s spending all that hollywood money on? Babs needs to ask for a refund.

With any luck, they’ll end up like the Chicago Daily Tribune folks, who wrote this headline in 1948.

When do they come out with a Joe Biden saying that Hillary would be a better VP coin…?
Can’t wait to buy that coin.

Guess they figure ACORN has enough fake ballots ready to go for ‘em.

As a New England Patriots fan, I can tell you that it’s not wise to jump the gun. How’d that “19-0″ book sell?
crazy_legs on September 24, 2008 at 3:15 AM
Yeah, ask (former) mayor Laura Miller of Dallas.
A week before the playoffs were over, she planned a parade for the Mavs… Who choked.

Guess Democrats don’t mind buying things overseas. That’s Birmingham, England, Barack.
Sloan Morganstern on September 24, 2008 at 6:03 AM
McCain ought to jump on this immediately, if not sooner. Point out to “working class” Americans that Obama’s people contracted with a foreign company.
Sloan Morganstern on September 24, 2008 at 6:04 AM
McCain needs to bring this up as well. Liberals, do as I say, not as I do.
MarkTheGreat on September 24, 2008 at 7:11 AM
I want one!!
How many “rumors” and “astroturf” campaigns against Sarah Palin do I need to participate in to earn one?
Or can I just do something illegal … like hack an email account?
/sarcasm
