This is difficult for some people to accept: Part of my religion entails telling others about it. If I’m not allowed to do this, I don’t really have freedom of religion.
Freedom of religion does not mean the right to not have your beliefs challenged, anymore than freedom of speech means you have the right to not have your claims challenged.

I look forward to the day when a Christian lawyer has the balls to argue that the entire Koran is ‘hate speech’ and should be eradicated from society. After all, it is definitely offensive to Christians because it claims that Christ is not Divine. That is both offensive and hostile to Christianity. No other religion specifically addresses it. . . not Jews, not Hindus, not Buddhists. And no other religion specifically addresses Mohommed.
Bottom line, go ahead Muslims. . . pick up on ‘hate speech’ and ‘hate crime’ legislation. You will lose your right to practice your religion on the basis of ‘hate crimes’. Hatred of Jews, Christians, all non-Muslims, homosexuals, etc. etc. etc.

Hate crime legislation has no purpose other than to destroy free speech. And the evangelists were threatened with being both arrested and being beat up if they returned. I guess if they would have been beat up somehow that would not have been a “hate crime.”
See how “hate crime” laws work? So called “hate crime” laws need to be struck down wherever they are found.
Maxx on June 1, 2008 at 4:23 PM
That is exactly the kind of thing the left wants us to do. The only result of that would be for EVERYONE to lose free speech and that is the goal of “hate crime” laws.
Maxx on June 1, 2008 at 4:25 PM
I hate “hate crimes“.
What’s my sentence?
(Other than declarative.)

In’t threatening the Christians a hate crime?
MB4 on June 1, 2008 at 4:42 PM
Hate crimes never protect Christianity. The hysterically anti-Western ravings of the lefty-crowd won’t allow it.
Muslims who say that you may be a second-class citizen or a cadaver, unless you convert to their religion? Not hatespeech. They’re “exotic.”
Another example of Muslims behaving like fascists. I say, you want a fight in England? Tell the boys that Muslims hate Christ and Wayne Rooney and see if England’s glory doesn’t come shining through again. They’d fight for St. George’s flag.

Daring to differ with a Muslim is a hate crime.
Not being Muslim in a Muslim part of town is a hate crime.
Being an American in a Muslim part of town is a hate crime.
Speaking to young Muslims about any religion other than Islam is a hate crime.
Getting beaten up for any of the above is justice.
See the difference now?

Free speech is dying a slow death. Not a good sign.

They should come to America and start a colony. It worked pretty well in the past.

Instead of obsessing over American elections the British should “grow one”, and clean up their own backyard.
When it comes to America, the Euro motto is – we can’t compete with them, so let’s destroy them. Hence, their overwhemling support for destructive weaklings like Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama.

It should be noted that this wasn’t a proper policeman, but a Community Support Officer. CSOs have very little training, and have no power to make arrests or anything.

Britain is a lost cause.
The leftists are SCREWING everyone there with their political correctness.
Can’t go into Muslim enclaves.
Can’t say Islamic terrorism.
It’s also sad that London alone, if I am not mistaken, has 500,000 CCTVs. Instead of targeting the right people, the left’s politically correct obsession makes everyone a target. There is no need for all of those cameras. All it does is treat every law abiding Brit like a terrorist. After all, EVERY RELIGION HAS ITS FANATICS DONT YOU DARE SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ISLAM TERRORISM CAN COME FROM ANYWHERE!
Hence, the left will be the rise of big brother, simply because they designate EVERYONE is a terrorist. If you can’t single out a group for their activity, and you proclaim anyone is going to (which isn’t true), everyone is a suspect.

Someone show me which muslims are to blame for this. 99% sure it’s some
atheist“secularist” with a stick up his arse trying to use islam as an excuse to be, like the liberals say, “an intolerant bigot”. It follows a common pattern even Muslims are complaining about (anyone remember this?)Darth Executor on June 1, 2008 at 7:07 PM
So, was the phony cop muslim?

Great comments, all.

Oh really? Why is that?
Ok, so it’s not what you do that is a hate crime, it’s what you think and what you say that is a hate crime. Got it.
You’re under arrest for saying something we don’t like…
Not only is this a threat, it surely sounds like the PCSO wants it to happen… nothing hateful about thinking and saying that, huh?
Refused to apologize. They think they did the right thing. They’ll just make sure that they better communicate how the Christians are committing hate crimes next time. Maybe that “communication” will be actually arresting them…
Our 1st amendment was written precisely to prevent this. It guarantees the freedom of Religious expression in all of its forms: speech, press, assembly, petitioning the Government for a redress of grievances (which, contrary to what Captain Ed thinks is not about lobbyists…it’s about citizens themselves, “we the people”, petitioning the Government for a redress of grievances when the Government oversteps Constitutional and/or Biblical boundaries). When the colonists petitioned King George of England for a redress of grievances, they didn’t use a lobbyist.

They no doubt hired a fanatical muslim for the position, to help ease community tensions and all that crap.
MattMacD on June 1, 2008 at 9:15 PM
So, mullahs who tell non muslims they must convert can all be rounded up and placed under arrest for hate crimes? Cool!
Blake on June 1, 2008 at 9:59 PM
No.

Mr. Police Community Support Officer, am I allowed to say that your title sounds like newspeak?
