President Obama will attend the international climate negotiations in Copenhagen next month, according to a senior administration official, a sign of the president’s increasing confidence that the talks will yield a meaningful agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The White House will also announce today that the United States will commit, in the talks, to reduce its emissions of the heat-trapping gases scientists blame for global warming “in the range of” 17 percent below 2005 levels by 2020, the official said. That’s the target set out in the climate bill the House passed in June.

That’s going to create a lot of CO2 and not accomplish anything.

Maybe he just really likes Copenhagen?

Wow! It’s funny, but the latest statement out of the CRU is this same doubling down crap. They are really going to just ignore the fact that AGW is a complete hoax and criminal racket. Time to make a LOT of noise.

Congress is considering an investigation into the climate hoax scandal, so Bozo knows its a hoax.
He’s been ordered to go by his master or he just wants another free vacation in Europe.
Has anyone else noticed, he doesn’t actually do anything for his paycheck?

OBAMA’S PRIORITIES:
1 – GOVT HEALTHCARE TO CURE A NON-EXISTENT HEALTHCARE CRISIS WHICH AMOUNTS TO NOTHING MORE THAN STEALTH SOCIALISM.
AND 2 – GOVT REGULATION OF CO2 AND ENERGY AND INDUSTRY IN ORDER TO COMBAT A NON-EXISTENT GLOBAL-WARMING CRISIS WHICH AMOUNTS TO NOTHING MORE THAN STEALTH SOCIALISM.
TOGETHER THEY PROVES OBAMA’S MAIN GOAL IS SOCIALISM AND THAT THIS IS RATIONALIZED BY APPEALING TO FEAR ON PHANTOM PROBLEMS.
THAT HE’S GOING TO DENMARK DESPITE CLIMATEGATE – AND WITH VIRTUALLY NO MENTION OF IT IN THE MSM – ONLY FURTHER PROVES THE UTTER RIDICULOUSNESS OF THE WHOLE MATTER.
reliapundit on November 25, 2009 at 10:15 AM
Okay, correct me if I am wrong but didn’t both India and China say they weren’t going to ruin their economies for over carbon emissions?
Obama, wake up, this is Russia all over again. They will say they are going to do something, and then, after you sign the paperwork, they will walk away laughing.
Obama, you are a nitwit. Harvard, I think you should call Obama and take back that degree.

The plain fact of the matter is the statists just don’t care anymore. This is their time, this is their chance to remake America as a socialist utopia. They have waited a long time for this and they are certainly not going to let scandals, hoaxes, public opinion, etc. get in the way.
Climate change was never about the climate to begin with. It was the tip of the spear to be driven into the heart of the world’s most powerful and important economy. Because in the mind of the statist, the United States is no better and no more important than any other nation. In the mind of the statist, we should all drive the same cars, receive the same salary, have the same access to rationed energy and receive the same health care.

Oh noes. This “commitment” has all the power and meaning of a non-binding UN Resolution.
Whatever. He’s throwing the green libs a bone. I don’t see much chance of this actually affecting our lives.
If they can concoct data to prove AGW, then it should be very easy to concoct data to prove reductions in carbon emissions. Just mirrors and smoke (cough, cough).

Well, he did say if he was elected president, the waters would recede and the planet would be healed. My only question is, if the waters were fine to begin with and they have receded now, can we now start drilling “off shore” in what is now “on shore”? And why if the waters have receded did Cuba disappear completely and Florida only remain about half the size, and why did all the polar icecaps disappear if the waters have receded?
UnderstandingisPower on November 25, 2009 at 10:36 AM
I see Obama still believes that he is the country.

Of course, he’s going to Copenhagen. Things are definitely too hot for him to hang around here.
kingsjester on November 25, 2009 at 10:56 AM
Osama Obama lending his support to fraud? So what’s news about that?
In times past, an impeachment resolution would be waiting for him when he gets home from Copenhagen.
But the criminal swine in Congress and D.C. in general — led by the porcine Al Gore — have figured out that they can make huge fortunes by destroying the nation.
So they are as guilty as he is.
Which means they all need to go, ASAP.
MrScribbler on November 25, 2009 at 10:56 AM
Maybe instead of smoking cigarettes, Obama should start chewing Copenhagen in order to match his obsession with going there for non-useful, time-wasting activities.

Great, because the best thing that Obama can do right now is tie himself to another sinking ship. Marxism isn’t sinking fast enough but thanks to Climategate, we can get this over with sooner rather than later.
Sharke on November 25, 2009 at 11:01 AM
Global warming data has been proved false. Yet Obama is itching to go to Copenhagen and destroy our way of life. Hope and change, indeed.
Here’s hoping we change our leaders in 2010 and 2012 and that no Democrat ever holds an office of power ever again.

So if he ignores Climategate it will disappear?
Cindy Munford on November 25, 2009 at 11:04 AM
“Obviously, we are glad that President Obama will be in Copenhagen in the early part of the climate summit,” said Keya Chatterjee, the climate director for World Wildlife Fund. “It’s important that his words during this important moment convey that the United States intends to make climate change a legislative priority, not simply a rhetorical one.
“If it becomes necessary to secure the right commitments,” she added, “the President must also be willing to return to Copenhagen with the rest of the world’s leaders during the final stages of the negotiations.”
