It ought to infuriate anyone who’s lost a job, can’t find a job, is worried about his job or lives in a community ravaged by a lack of jobs that Congress devotes nearly all of its energy to arguing about health care.
The promise of health care reform was not what got Democrats elected. Voters tossed Republicans on their fannies for ruining the economy, not because they didn’t enact wildly expensive social programs.
But while the economy tops every list of public concerns, job creation is not the hot topic in Washington.
In fact, Democratic leaders, obsessed with reworking America, have proved more than willing to sacrifice precious jobs during the worst economic climate in a half-century.

Remember, employers are going to SAVE all the money they spent on healthcare (now paid for by zillionaires) and HIRE NEW PEOPLE. You’ll see. Just you wait until 2019.
Marcus on November 8, 2009 at 8:27 PM
But nationalized healthcare will save billions of dollars thus creating millions of jobs. Don’t ask me how, just go with it.
Bishop on November 8, 2009 at 8:28 PM
Yes, the Dumocrats have done such a good job in Detroit. The unions have helped them kill the auto industry and they still haven’t learned anything. The UAW voted to kill Ford because they wouldn’t accept a small wage cut in order to keep their jobs. If Ford has any brains in their executive suite, they will shift all the jobs that are possible to shift to Canada, where the Canadian UAW accepted the cuts or to Mexico or another country where the unions aren’t suicidal.

Nice article, Mr. Finley. Too bad they won’t listen.

That, as Ms. Jarrett says, is speaking truth to power!

I think from now on all negative headlines having to do with Democrats should read something like this:
“Because Palin was not elected VP, America hemorrhages jobs while Democrats dawdle with health care”
It would be a refreshing break from all the negative propaganda against Palin. Kind of like the joke where you use “in bed” at the end of every sentence, fun fun fun and AP still gets a chance to tweak his web hits.

The more unemployed people, the more “entrants” into the Single-Payer Pol-Pot Plan…..

America hemorrhaging jobs is the democrat plan.

BO wants a crisis mentality so that he can get his agenda passed. He is a ruthless, military hating empty suit.
d1carter on November 8, 2009 at 8:39 PM
Finley’s point applies equally to Osama Obama.
In fact, virtually everything Congress and the Traitor-in-Chief have done since Jan. 20th has cost more jobs, and will continue to do so.
One has to wonder if the trends they have established — make money worthless by printing too much, deepening the debt to other nations, taking over a substantial part of America’s businesses and micro-managing those fields they don’t actually control — can ever be undone, at least in time to keep the USA from becoming a third-world hellhole.

this is not a problem for either O or his PR press.
Most important: take care of everyone…healthcare, income transfers, unemployment checks, government jobs (either directly, or stimulus-dependent)
those are his keys to success.

Can’t let a good crisis go to waste. – Rahm Emmanuel
If there is resistance to the agenda, extend the crisis until Americans submit.
DerKrieger on November 8, 2009 at 8:51 PM
When those jobs don’t arrive, people are going to get more strident. There is going to be a huge price to pay for focusing on liberal pet projects instead of jobs, and that price will come in many forms.

Americans will be the healthiest impoverished, jobless, pensionless, over-taxed, totally-controlled government serfs in U.S. history- thanks to the Nanny Statism Democratic moronocracy in charge of this delusional debacle.

Wait until the health care sector lay offs start…
Caper29 on November 8, 2009 at 9:10 PM
The best part is:
Wait until health insurers start laying off people in anticipation of this crapwad bill passing.
Oh, wait, it’s already started…..

Obama is making no mistake, Mr. Finley. This is what he and the Democrats want to happen. It is malice, not ignorance that drives them.
BKennedy on November 8, 2009 at 9:19 PM
He makes a good point. It’s funny how the the Republicans are excoriated for holding social issues, yet it is the Dems aggressively pursuing social issues through legislation.

Seriously, who the f’ voted for these idiots? This has got to be the lowest IQ government in our nation’s history. But while it might be low on intelligence, it sure is full of millionaires lining their pockets.
There should be an unemployment rally in DC. Pitchforks, torches, tar and feathers are too good for the leaches in government.
ray on November 9, 2009 at 12:16 AM
Democrats like the low job numbers. The more are out of jobs, the more ‘need’ public healthcare.
They orchestrated the high unemployment in order to shove ObamaCare and crap ‘n trade down our throats. No, I won’t take this back. These are evil people, from Pelosi/Reid/Boxer,… to Obama.
Schadenfreude on November 9, 2009 at 12:22 AM
That and more. Obama sold himself as a moderate, denying indignantly charges he was a far leftie. Now that the real Obama is exposed, we see he stole the election by misrepresentation and deceit.
