The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood’s Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood’s military leaders and hospital staff for the “amazing care they are providing.”

God Bless the Bushes. That’s the kind of folks they are. If our current moron in chief had visited (fat chance at that), there would have been 75 media people there and TOTUS would have made a 20 minute speech about Obamacare.

Some things Bush and his father have in common:
CLASS, COMPASSION, PATRIOTISM, DECENCY.
Sometimes too much for their own good, but you can’t begrudge them their virtues.
notropis on November 7, 2009 at 2:24 PM
Yes. Pres. & Laura Bush make time to go to Fort Hood.
Meanwhile, President Zero adds an incoherent footnote about the Fort Hood massacre at the end of his lighthearted shout-out at yesterday’s conference.
Then he stops by the Capital today to break a few arms wrt Health Care mandate and arrives 10-15 minutes late to the Rose Garden to admonish Americans once again about failing to support his Health Care mandate.
And it’s off to Camp David for a weekend of R&R! I kid you not.
Obama is a disgrace.
IrishEi on November 7, 2009 at 2:25 PM
Good on the Bushes. The Obama’s should be ashamed of themselves.
JetBoy on November 7, 2009 at 2:26 PM
Obama’s too busy trying to cram his boondoogle of a health care bill through to attend to any of that silly commander-in-chief stuff. He’s a self-promoter at any costs, not a leader.
He’ll get around to it when he doesn’t have a round of golf or something about himself to attend to. (or when the idiots at the White House see that he’s getting slammed by the public for yet another misstep in their strategy)
George and Laura Bush are showing their class..both with their actions AND with their silence over the stupidity being funneled their way by the administration that can’t take responsibility for their own actions. Personally, I think their silence is very astute, let the White House show by their words and deeds just how petty and ridiculous they are.

Disagreed with Bush on many things (although I voted for him twice). Love of country, dedication to the troops, and class were NEVER in question with him or his family, however.
I think it’s very telling that he and Laura went, on their own (without the press corp), as American citizens to just be there if they were needed. Nothing more need be said.
Compare that to our current President and the “Photo Op” he staged with our fallen at Dover AFB and it really brings home the misguided priorities of Obama.
Obama is our President but he has yet to EARN any respect from me!

Translation: “I can’t refute Del’s cite of the lawsuit ruling Iraq played a role in 9/11, so will change the subject.”
1. New Orleans: Bush declared a state of emergency 3 days before the hurricane hit, and begged the Democrats who ran Louisiana to get the people out. They laughed in his face and refused to do so.
2. In the first 72 hours after the storm came ashore-72 hours in which FEMA never shows up-Bush’s US Coast Guard rescued 10,000 people by helicopters.
3. When the Democrats’ utter incompetence after the storm started to become public knowledge, they desperately enlisted their puppets in the mainstream media to shift their blame to Bush. Despite this, the Democrat Governor was later thrown out of office by the disgusted voters.
4. Bush never gave a getalife about his job approval, even when it was at 90%. Why is it so important to your tiny mind?
BTW, Race Fan, the final Bush job approval poll did not have him at 25%, it was 8 points higher. You’re using faulty data. Not surprising.
