“She’s exactly on TV as she is in person,” exclaimed Coca Astey, 46, of San Diego. “There is no other Michele.”
Therein lies the rub for party leaders.
They would like to capitalize on the fervor of the tea party foot soldiers, who have been quick to adopt Bachmann as an icon of their movement. But they’re wary of the movement’s fringe elements and, at times, of Bachmann, who made a name for herself last year when she called for an investigation into “anti-America” members of Congress and more recently when she referred to the Democrats’ health care plan as the “crown jewel of socialism.”
As the tea party revelers relished in Bachmann’s rising star, so, too, did the Democrats — who see the Minnesota representative’s ascension to the top of the GOP as a sign of the party’s weakness.

Or so they say. Then again, they’re a delusional bunch.

The GOP will continue to find RINO heads in their beds if they keep ignoring Bachmann and Palin.

Bachmann makes MSNBC pink with rage.
That’s good enough for me, she’s doing something right.

but should America?
GW_SS-Delta on November 6, 2009 at 9:01 PM
You know, we could let people figure out what they want all by themselves…
But without the press to tell us how to think, how can that possibly happen?

The rub for the party leaders is they are not going to be leaders much longer with this attitude.

She scares liberals and RINOs because she is unabashedly conservative, strong, and doesn’t give a crap what they think of her. Love it!
Palin/Bachmann 2012!

Michele Pachmann…gobbling up lies and rino trash as she makes her way through the halls of congress.

You know what the liberals think when they hear Michelle Bachmann speak?

Yes, because telling the truth is now considered controversial but telling lies gets you the Presidency.

Speaking of Palin, she is in the lower 48.

Anytime the democrat press aka Politico cautions republicans, do the exact opposite as they suggest. How long before the press claims her children aren’t hers or that she can see Canada from her porch or something?
Lying is what works for them. The GOP had better get a clue and start defending our leaders instead of getting in line to criticize just to get their faces on tv.
For every tea party person at a rally, look for a hundred more at home who couldn’t afford to go or who had to work or just physically couldn’t get there. There are large numbers of seniors who are retired and angry enough to protest for the first time in their lives. This is true populism, evidence that the dems have lost the middle class.
And nobody wins elections without us. We vote.
Carolina Kat on November 6, 2009 at 9:50 PM
Rush touched on a truth that is worth noting. Lately the people who are taking it to Obama on our side are the women of the GOP. Bachmann, Palin, Cheney. Should be slightly emabarassing to the “men” in the GOP
I’d love to cast a vote for any or all of those champions of Conservatism in a General Election.
OSUBuciz1 on November 6, 2009 at 9:52 PM
I don’t know. Bachmann has said some crazy things, sometimes about FEMA camps IIRC.
Black Yoshi on November 6, 2009 at 10:03 PM
Like what; pray tell?
mizflame98 on November 6, 2009 at 10:11 PM
The men in the GOP leadership tend to be such milquetoasts. Bush was about the butchest of the bunch and he isn’t exactly Jason Statham. At least the women have some stones (plus they’re hot!).

The way you can tell that the MSM hate Bachmann’s guts, is that they misquote (and take her completely out of context) more than just about anyone I can think of, except maybe Rush. She can’t use a single joke or metaphor that the press will leave as joke or metaphor. “She was serious!!! Oh my God…she’s insane!!! She wants gun battles in the streets, civil war!! She should be locked up so she can’t kill us all. Run for your lives!!!”

Yes, we have seen some real strength in Sarah, Michelle, and Liz. It would be nice to see some of the men “man up” and get an attitude, too.
Mirimichi on November 6, 2009 at 10:33 PM
I think I’ve figured this out. DC’s just like high school. Who hates Bachmann, Palin, Ingraham, etc.? The ugly, unpopular girls who sat on their beds on Friday nights hugging their teddy bears and the boys who never had a shot. It’s all jealousy.

Michelle Bachman leads. I am a huge supporter. Minnesotans are lucky to have her. If she ever goes national, I’m there.

Let’s remember what David Plouffe said about politico now
“If politico and halperin say we are in trouble, we are doing fine. if they agree with us, we are f**ked”.
Remember folks, divide and conquer.

Before Obama lots of things looked fringe that don’t look fringe anymore.
For instance I would never have believed we could have actual communists in an Administration! But that’s not fringe or anything.
