The painting, according to Murphy’s site, is composed of “bull shit and pigment” on canvas. (Indeed, there are photos of the artist blending his materials).

NEA funded?

What, no portrait made of acorns?
rbj on September 16, 2009 at 8:06 AM
But the right wing is 100% redneck.
Glenn is smack-dab over the target, obviously.
hoosiermama on September 16, 2009 at 8:06 AM
Im sure Beck will get a laugh out of it.
becki51758 on September 16, 2009 at 8:08 AM
Probably.

Nutty
SouthernGent on September 16, 2009 at 8:10 AM
At least the artist is working in a medium he fully understands…
Corky on September 16, 2009 at 8:13 AM
After looking at that painting, I have to say the actual artwork is not bad. This is a pretty good likeness of Beck. But if the symbolism is supposed to be that Beck is BS, then by the same stroke of the brush is the artist saying that trees, grass and animals are also BS? Those are in the picture too.
MikeA on September 16, 2009 at 8:16 AM
Liberals ply BS on a regular basis. It surpises me they haven’t thought of this sooner.
csdeven on September 16, 2009 at 8:17 AM
Edgy.
exception on September 16, 2009 at 8:19 AM
Where’s Beck’s KKK robe?
I thought that was the new Democratic attack angle?
Obviously – this painter isn’t reading his emailed daily talking points.
HondaV65 on September 16, 2009 at 8:21 AM
Kudos to Glenn! You’re no one until liberal artists want to paint your image, in shite.
Shiny_Tiara on September 16, 2009 at 8:30 AM
That’s really a good picture. I am not big on pictures of people but if I was I’d buy it. If it doesn’t smell that is.
Cindy Munford on September 16, 2009 at 8:33 AM
We should do a series of Beck paintings in pudding and marshmallows.
myrenovations on September 16, 2009 at 8:33 AM
Our tax dollars probably funded this er crap. But I’d like to hear what lie the artist attributes to Beck. Seems to me he’s been dead on.
Christian Conservative on September 16, 2009 at 8:34 AM
I am sure I would be called a racist if I did a cowpie picture of Pres Obama.
Elfvis on September 16, 2009 at 8:38 AM
A few things I would like to say about this artwork (condensed into 1 post)
1) I don’t know if I would want to deal with anyone who plays in crap.
2) That has to be one smelly artwork.
3) It doesn’t make Glenn Beck look like an ass but the artist since he’s the one playing in crap.
4) Typical liberal. When exposed to the truth, they prefer to wallow in crap and throw it at the messenger.
5) That portrait is absolutely crap-tastic!

Anyone who ever visits TheCollegePolitico.com, know that Politico has now decided to muscle them out of their domain name.
Not trying to take away from the discussion, but Politico’s tactics here are flat-out bullying. A number of us won’t be visiting any Politico links until this crap ends.
MadisonConservative on September 16, 2009 at 8:38 AM
I wonder, if this guy is even aware of where E.Coli comes from?
franksalterego on September 16, 2009 at 8:43 AM
I second MadisonConservative. I will not be visiting Politico any more. Please stop linking them till this is resolved.
brainy435 on September 16, 2009 at 8:43 AM
Were any biohazard laws broken in the production and display of this so called artwork?
meci on September 16, 2009 at 8:43 AM
He obviously gets his supplies from the House floor.
JammieWearingFool on September 16, 2009 at 8:44 AM
The darkness hates the light. Those that live in lies hate being exposed. The art of that world is stench and decay.
Osis on September 16, 2009 at 8:51 AM
Thanks for the information. I will join your boycott. I wonder if CollegePolitico.com is taking donations for the court battle?
Cindy Munford on September 16, 2009 at 8:58 AM
Next up, a collection of Van Jones macaroni art.
Fletch54 on September 16, 2009 at 9:03 AM
Nobody has to wonder where a liberal gets all that BS.
Axeman on September 16, 2009 at 9:05 AM
I want a portrait of The Kenyan done in manure.
Or welfare checks or food stamps.
Or union membership cards.
tsj017 on September 16, 2009 at 9:08 AM
Wow, that’s mature.
Red Cloud on September 16, 2009 at 9:24 AM
I loved the one comment I read on the Politco commets section to this story.
“Say more about the artist than it does the subject.”
Pcoop on September 16, 2009 at 9:26 AM
Ah, the wonderfully juvenile political expressionism of the left.Fling feces and smear it on the wall. The impotent frustration and rage of the ‘we won’t grow up’ lefties is a source of great amusement.
ppaint on September 16, 2009 at 9:29 AM
He talked about setting up a legal fund on Twitter, but as far as I know he’s still working on getting a lawyer.
MadisonConservative on September 16, 2009 at 9:35 AM
It’s illegal to distribute sewerage no matter how the artist disguises its dissemination. Just because he can paint a great likeness with untreated fecal matter doesn’t mean that he is above the law, even waste disposal regulations.
Moron!
ExpressoBold on September 16, 2009 at 10:08 AM
Let me know if it happens. I can’t do a ton but I can help some. Hopefully Politico will realize this is not a way to win friends and influence people.
Cindy Munford on September 16, 2009 at 10:23 AM
I’m sure that the artist will be on the a-list of the liberal cocktail circuit for his brilliant mastery of art.
scrubjay on September 16, 2009 at 10:59 AM
Wow. This guy’s certainly got a talent. That’s an awesome picture of Beck. But it’s not art. You’d have to put it in a jar of urine to call it art.
I’m sure if he did one of Obama, he’d be derided as a racist. And he’d get a full-blown denouncement from Jimmy Carter.
