The Hill
Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), who shouted “you lie!” at President Obama during his Wednesday night address to Congress, admitted to regularly consuming caffeine pills in 2007…
The fifth-term Republican said he shared his NoDoz use with his doctor, who Wilson said assured him that the over-the-counter pills are not dangerous unless you get addicted.

Weren’t these the same folks who just couldn’t figure out who this Van Jones character was no matter how little Googling it required?
And didn’t our Beloved Dear Leader and Great Master Obama do coke and pot in college, as he admitted in his books?

The Van Jones story showed that the MSM can no longer cover up a story. And the Joe Wilson story will prove that they are impotent in pimping a story. No clothes.

If he’s addicted to no-doz he’s no different than those of us who are addicted to coffee. If one tablet is = to 7 oz of coffee, then I take the equivalent of 14 tablets a day.
The writer of this piece, Jordan Fabian, however, is addicted to his Binky.

Jim Treacher on September 10, 2009 at 7:23 PM
Investigations, now! There must be some lurking in the halls of Congress that sneak sudafed when they can’t get their usual caffeine fixes. Does anyone have– dare I say it– a nicotine patch, that methadone for nicotine addicts?
And the rampant use of gateway drugs! You never know how it will start. A Benadryl or an occasional melatonin to fall asleep, the next thing you know you’re having a double caramel macchiato or a diet coke for breakfast. Then you move on to things like ice tea throughout the day– ask Al Gore and his lawyers how well that worked out.
obladioblada on September 10, 2009 at 7:24 PM
Nice catch.
fogw on September 10, 2009 at 7:24 PM

And yet, some editor considered it worthy, go figure.
The press, if they continue this pattern, won’t be unmasking anyone but themselves.

The media is a joke.

Ted Torgerson on September 10, 2009 at 7:55 PM
Those damned caffeine addicts! There’s no telling what they’ll do once on they’re hooked on coffee (That’s street slang for caffeine)
Trust me on this one folks, I lost 10 years of my life to caffeine addiction.
You wouldn’t believe the things I’d do for a Pumpkin Spice triple latte. Theft, extortion, groveling… It was shameful.
Thanks to my friends and family, I overcame my debilitating addiction and now sell magazine subscriptions door to door.
If Joe Wilson is truly a caffeine addict, I wish him the best of luck. It’s not easy, but I’m a living testament that with years of hard work, you can overcome the beast and live a semi-normal life without caffeine.

Sorry guys, Jordan’s a friend of mine. He’s a good guy, real solid conservative, too. In all likelihood, he was assigned this story. Not fair to rip on him, I don’t think.

Scrappy on September 10, 2009 at 8:26 PM
Okay, don’t believe me. I know the guy, we’re friends. He’s a good guy. What else can I say?
warrenmr on September 10, 2009 at 8:31 PM
Put down your rose-colored glasses for a minute.
This story is all about a guy who has taken caffein pills in the past, with an underlying assumption that his odd behavior and outburst during Obama’s speech could be attributed to taking said pills. That is the only possibility why someone would bother to write this pile of crap.
So in researching this possibility, your good friend says the following:
“It is unknown if Wilson still takes NoDoz, a brand of pill that contains 200 milligrams of caffeine a pop.”
That makes it a non-story, one really not worth printing at all. If your friend is a “solid conservative” as you say, I would suggest you tell him to find work elsewhere – if he was told to write that article by his superiors.
He doesn’t come across as any kind of conservative.
fogw on September 10, 2009 at 8:33 PM
You can explain how a person taking NoDoz is news. Could be worth a few laughs to see someone try to defend this.
Scrappy on September 10, 2009 at 8:35 PM
If only he was married to Valerie Plame.
Cylor on September 10, 2009 at 8:37 PM
Again, not defending the story in any way. It’s really silly, actually, but I think it’s meant to be entertaining at best.
All I want to do is point out that the writer isn’t some lefty with an ax to grind. Because he’s not.
warrenmr on September 10, 2009 at 8:39 PM
Joe Wilson to his wife:
I’m sooo excited! I’m soo excited! I’m so… SCARED! *SOB*
V-rod on September 10, 2009 at 8:44 PM
If he’s not “some lefty with an ax to grind” he’s a moron for filing this story. If this is supposed to be journalism then your friend got hosed at whatever school he went to.

Cocoaine . . . smoking . . . doesn’t matter, if The One does it!
Just makes him, you know, human. And who wouldn’t want that?
Everybody else, though . . .
Alana on September 10, 2009 at 8:53 PM
Speculation…
Mr. Fabian could be a person of the right (based on his activities at Cornell), who wanted to see if he could get this past his editors, and then see if the nutroots and MSM would try to run with it… further exposing that they in the tank for Barry…
Or it could be a really tough job market and he wants a better paying gig…
