Regulation is not the “opposite” of capitalism. Democrats really do have this inexplicable fetish for the term, so much so that they use it in places it does not belong. Its similar to the Republican use of the word capitalism.
I like Congressmen Ryan calling the evolving system “crony capitalism.” The Democrats aren’t really taking over the whole economy Soviet style, it’s more like they’re just ensuring that it’s business with political connections that get all the breaks (in bailouts and regulation).

I often play the “two sides of the same coin” angle when musing on partisan sh*t like this. I understand this is a very conservative site. If i were somewhere else, i wouldn’t bother with the GOP stab. I give the GOP and conservatives a dig whenever i can get away with some initial logical attempt because its fun here. It engages the keener minds on the site, and keeps the real trolls out.
yep, so if we can’t have capitalism, then we’ll try socialism. That’s MUCH better isn’t it? I’m with Lorien, this is open season so now we can call the lot of them socialists.
If the head of the Democrats says he wants socialism, then they are no longer the Democrat party. . . they are the socialist party. This needs to be put in an ad and run over and over and over again along side pictures of some other renowned socialists in history.
Imagine if Bush told the media how to spin daily events…
And he told journalists directly that they should stress the fact that the cuts are “significant” – a surprisingly direct appeal to reporters concerning which angle they should take in their coverage.
Howard Dean has “had quite enough capitalism” but you better not call him a socialist. That would be swift-boating and character assassination.

I realized when the liberals at the NYT were pestering Obama about whether or not he was a socialist that they all really want to feel the liberation of coming out of the closet and admitting that they are socialists.
I think they feel that there is no reason to lie about their Marxist beliefs anymore. They might be right about that as the parasites are in the majority and there isn’t much motivation for a parasite to join the hosts. Secession is the only answer for those who believe in self determination, and the longer it’s delayed, the more difficult it will become.

Capitalism didn’t fail, and even that idiot knows it. And GWB was a big fat liberal in practically every way. If only we had a press that would call the progs out on their lies…
Our prog friends, with their socioeconomic meddling, crony capitalism and bailouts won’t let the free market work. Of course, they caused this crisis and what do Americans do but reward the unaccountable, lying fools with the WH and a majority in Congress for their handy work.
I heard a war veteran call Levin today, asking him what he and his brothers in arms fought a war against communism for, if all the good it did was to watch his own ungrateful nation turn into the same. It saddened me.
