Cartoonists, put down yer pens…until a few days from now. For sure myriad of opportunities will arise.

Conservatives George Will, Krauthammer, Brooks, and Kristol.
HA HA HA HA HA!!! Conservatives, yeah right. These are Obama drones, elitists.
All Kristol has going for him is his support for Palin, but that seems to be waning.
jencab on January 13, 2009 at 11:03 PM
I’m sure there was plenty of kool-aid there.
Firebird on January 13, 2009 at 11:04 PM
Kinda glad to hear it.
I was thinking maybe Dubya had something to do with Rush’s quick trip to D.C.
Let’s wait for Obama’s works.
If he’s not listening to Rush, we’ll know it soon enough.

Charles Krauthammer is the only hold out as far as conservatives in this bunch.
Obama sure goes out on a limb with these guys though. WoW! What a fearless leader! Jumping into the lions den! More like a kittens whelping box.
katy on January 13, 2009 at 11:13 PM
haha yeah not one of those guys is a conservative. Brooks is a moderate democrat dressed as a republican. The other two are moderate republicans.

This takes me back to my childhood. Something my mother told me about leopards and spots.

The image of Bill Kristol, David Brooks and Krauthammer, in a ménage à quatre, kissing the O’s ring ars, by “Mr. President-erect elect this, or that”, while Will, the aristocratic host, just smirks, full of his faux significance, the event just having topped it, is sweet.
These are good times for cartoonists. Our nation is a tragi-comedy.
p.s. I hereby invalidate my first comment on this thread.

Rush is a, “Notorious and combative talk-show host.”
They don’t even try to conceal their biases anymore, do they?
JannyMae on January 14, 2009 at 12:11 AM
With the exception of Krauthammer, weren’t these some of the wizards of smart who claimed that McCain was the Republican’s hope for the election?
Now, if the attendees had been Newt, Hannity, Levin, Limbaugh — then you could make the argument that The One is listening to all sides.
With this crowd, The One is just trying to nudge the center a little further left.
AZfederalist on January 14, 2009 at 12:14 AM
The Huff Post scares me. Crazy, crazy, crazy place.
Krauthammer is the only decent columnists out of these. Will used to be, but I think he loves himself a bit too much.
Kristol is a joke, and a creep. Neocons like him were the ones pushing that joke of a candidate the Republicans just got through reluctantly supporting.
No Kathleen Parker and Peggy Noonan? They worked hardest for the invite.

There is no clearer example of the cocktail crowd than this. These men are willing to stand down and let this nation adopt the most destructive policies to the economy and to liberty for invites to parties and kind words from their crowd.
We have no leadership.

Of course. Any principled newspaper columnist would refuse an invite to dinner with the President of the United States.
Such moral cowards.

It’s been a long time since I’ve though of George Will or David Brooks as conservatives. Kristol says dumb stuff sometimes that makes me wonder, but I still think he’s on our side.

Scene from the dinner:
BHO: Thanks for running Caribou Barbie. I owe you for that one.
Kristol: She leads the Alaska National Guard and keeps an eye on Putin. She’s very qualified.
BHO: Like I said, thanks.

Charles Krauthammer is an adult, an MD and a unending source of provocative, insightful consideration. I’ll trust him on where he decides to dine.
