“We did not want to pre-empt our programing lineup with a 30-minute spot,” a CNN spokesman said Tuesday. “We’d rather use our air to continue to cover the campaign, candidates and issues like we always do from all points of view with the best political team on television.”

NICE!… guess the 30 minute “I love Me” video/commercial was in the way of providing news and other commercials.

I’m actually pretty surprised by that. Good job CNN.
BadgerHawk on October 29, 2008 at 11:25 AM
They must figure they can do a more effective job of electioneering on that one’s behalf. After all, what if he makes a gaffe or something?
Better to just let them handle the campaign for him.
Kensington on October 29, 2008 at 11:25 AM
Everyone watch CNN tonight! Let’s see if more people can watch CNN then the “half-hour of worship.”
chb03c on October 29, 2008 at 11:25 AM
I honestly don’t know who’s carrying it, because I have no plans whatsoever to watch. Can I assume MSNBC and NBC – i.e., the choir? Who else?

How stupid is MSNBC? They’re airing a campaign informercial in primetime.
NONE – repeat, none – of the cable news networks ever sell their air for informercials. It’s seen as, you know, compromising their integrity.
Yes, I know their prime time lineup has been a commercial for Obama for all of 2008, but still, this is just dumb.
YYZ on October 29, 2008 at 11:30 AM
LOL… you folks don’t get it…
They will still show it, but cover it as “news”… that way Obama does not have to pay for it.

So, Fox and CNN won’t be showing it then. I think “The One” didn’t even ask FOX.
Okay, I am sure many of you don’t remember the super fine “Victory At Sea” series that was on TV long ago. WWII stuff. I bought the whole series just to get away from “The One”. Crap, I couldn’t even watch the History Channel with that POS showing up in a commercial.
BobK on October 29, 2008 at 11:31 AM
Am I the only one that wants this to be on every single station out there? There is no better way to piss off Americans than to force them to listen to political nonsense when they just want to watch a little TV. This has the chance of backfiring on Obama. Most people don’t want to watch a 30 minute speech by a candidate.
muyoso on October 29, 2008 at 11:32 AM
Translation: If he wins we still want viewers.
Theworldisnotenough on October 29, 2008 at 11:32 AM
CNN is giving Osama Obama three hours of free airtime with Wolf Blitzer tomorrow night.
Anyone wanna bet on how many real questions Short Stuff will dare ask The Messiah?
I open the bidding with: none.
MrScribbler on October 29, 2008 at 11:35 AM
Translation: we want the chosen one to spend his money buying votes! We plan on devoting the half hour to Obama love regardless!
anniekc on October 29, 2008 at 11:35 AM
Yep. they are taking advantage of the Huckleberry Plan for getting commercials aired without paying for them. Thanks, Huck, for setting precedent.
a capella on October 29, 2008 at 11:35 AM
They already show 24 hours of Obama propaganda.
lorien1973 on October 29, 2008 at 11:37 AM
3 hours? You’re joking, right?
Will they do the same for McCain?
lorien1973 on October 29, 2008 at 11:38 AM
Funny enough, they did accept an offer from Jay Kordich, the Juiceman.
benrand on October 29, 2008 at 11:40 AM
Oh come on! I’m sure he ask him absolutely blistering questions. Questions like:
1. How is he holding up under all the vicious unfair attacks?
2. Does he think RACISM! has played any part in undermining the fairness of his inevitable election?
3. How are Michelle and the kids?
4. Isn’t that Rev. Agee frightening?
5. Is Sarah Palin qualified to be Vice President?
6. What does he most look forward to after his victory next week?
Blistering.
Kensington on October 29, 2008 at 11:41 AM
You’re being sarcastic, right? Because if not, this is the most expensive free airtime in history.
YYZ on October 29, 2008 at 11:42 AM
Huh, I wonder why they didn’t contact Fox News? //sarc
vcferlita on October 29, 2008 at 11:47 AM
7. Can I go down on you, or would you just like a backrub?
CurtZHP on October 29, 2008 at 11:47 AM
The media knows it has nearly accomplished it’s mission of electing Obama.
I think what you will see if he is elected is a ‘feigned’ impersonation of neutrality from the media opposed to left wing propaganda that exists today.
cntrlfrk on October 29, 2008 at 11:47 AM
Not if CNN chooses to air it as “news”, instead of billed time. It’s all in the definition. We’ll see. If they can restrain themselves, I’m wrong.
a capella on October 29, 2008 at 11:48 AM
Most of the lib media is trying to save their reps in the last hour. They know people are stupid enough to think that being fair one time (doing their job) makes up for the last year of shilling for Obama. They think Obama is such a sure thing that they can throw a bone to the Right and make nice. It’s a shame that most will fall for it and give CNN and the lib media a pass.
nottakingsides on October 29, 2008 at 11:50 AM
I imagine the Mahdi’s infomercial will be judged so astounding by CNN that they will interrupt regular programing to cover this incredibly important breaking news event live….and free.
BL@KBIRD on October 29, 2008 at 11:55 AM
It’s on FOX!
barry norris on October 29, 2008 at 12:24 PM
The FOX network is airing the infomercial . . . but not the Fox News Channel.
eaglescout1998 on October 29, 2008 at 12:39 PM
Anyone here planning to watch? I’d rather sweep the garage or fold laundry.
james23 on October 29, 2008 at 1:01 PM
The way FoxNews has been sliding lately, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if they had ran it…….
FiveWays on October 29, 2008 at 1:25 PM
I hope that “Pushing Dasies” is good tonight.

Good for them — this fawning coverage is getting out of hand (an understatement I know).
