In other news, water is wet.

I assume this is referring to Biden?
jgapinoy on October 17, 2008 at 12:40 AM
Someone call me tomorrow and remind me to be surprised. But not before 10AM, I have to rearrange my sock drawer.
johnsteele on October 17, 2008 at 12:41 AM
OBAMA HAS NO EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE.
PALIN WAS A MAYOR (EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE) AND IS A GOVERNOR (EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE).
SCREW YOU WaPo.
profitsbeard on October 17, 2008 at 12:44 AM
There goes the DC vote.
Limerick on October 17, 2008 at 12:44 AM
Oh MY! What a shock!
Are they serious? Obama, a loser who doesn’t know any of his associations, is ready alongside a screwball who can’t count past three?
jencab on October 17, 2008 at 12:45 AM
Wow… what a big shock
Maxx on October 17, 2008 at 12:49 AM
Where is Captain Renault?
connertown on October 17, 2008 at 12:49 AM
OT – Anybody interested in a CBS news story about Chicago schools?
link
This is the same place Obambi spent $100M to fix the schools. Or so they say.
platypus on October 17, 2008 at 12:50 AM
Whatever. McCain could have picked Feingold and they would have endorsed the One, let alone a candidate with more executive experience then Obama.
Lettermen hammered on the vp thing too. Seriously, if that’s all they have, then these predictions of victory in Nov might have something to them.
Spirit of 1776 on October 17, 2008 at 12:58 AM
OK, I’ll turn down my Palin fandom for a sec and go with the MSM argument that Palin might not be ready. On the other hand, Biden has PROVEN over his long career that he’s a doofus and is far from ready.
Based on that, I’ll have to go for “Palin-possibly unready but shows potential to learn” over “Biden-proven wrong and unready over and over again.”
innominatus on October 17, 2008 at 12:58 AM
The Weekly World News beat ‘em to it.
The WaPoo staff has been endorsing Osama Obama for two years, in every news story and commentary.
MrScribbler on October 17, 2008 at 12:59 AM
Further on, they express all sorts of ambivalence. Time to check back with your Freshman Comp. professor.
If you mean by `supple`, you mean slightly above average, you are dead on. And please, give a single example of his consensus building. Just one.
The man is fit to play the President on TV, not in real life.
fluffy on October 17, 2008 at 1:00 AM
At least one line was truthful!
Falconsword on October 17, 2008 at 1:08 AM
Surely this is satire.
By supple do they mean twisting and bending all his positions. By a nuanced grasp of complex issues they must be referring to his opposition to the Surge. By consensus-building they must mean his 20 years in a racists church.
You sure the Onion didn’t just endorse Obama and not the WaPo?
hepcat on October 17, 2008 at 1:09 AM
Sure, Omaba is a wonderful concensus builder. He has managed to unite and synergize the socialist wing and the Chicago Machine wing of his beloved party.
innominatus on October 17, 2008 at 1:09 AM
Which is why we go on to say:
Because that’s just how completely full of sh*t we are. /
amerpundit on October 17, 2008 at 1:10 AM
This would have been harder for WaPo had Iraq been faring worse right now. Because it’s quiet and safe, they feel comfortable with Obama.
McCain is a victim of his own most risky, most successful move. He supported Iraq (as did the WaPo) when most others would have abandoned it.
Had McCain abadoned it in 2006, as Obama did, where would it be now?
McCain would certainly not have been hurt politically, but a lot of Iraqis would be dead.
He put his entire reputation on the line to do the right thing in Iraq, and the thanks he gets for a peaceful Iraq is an endorsement from another war supporter for an Obama presidency.
Fab.
MayBee on October 17, 2008 at 1:10 AM
Check your premises. You’re assuming any of them give a crap about the schools that the proles attend. Schools are for solidifying power, not teaching.
spmat on October 17, 2008 at 1:11 AM
Biggest lie of this election, so far, and biggest attempt at laughing for me. I spared myself the waste of energy.
Entelechy on October 17, 2008 at 1:15 AM
And, yes, the sun rose in the East in San Diego today, and it was a marvelously clear Oct. 16th.
Entelechy on October 17, 2008 at 1:17 AM
Wow. Now he will finally qualify for the family discount on all that free advertising the WashPost has been giving him through political contributions disguised as reporting.
viking01 on October 17, 2008 at 1:17 AM
It is very consoling to know that Sarah will punish them irreconcilably.

ninjapirate on October 17, 2008 at 1:21 AM
My bad. I feel like Slow Joe around wheelchairs.
platypus on October 17, 2008 at 1:31 AM
Maybe they think they’ll sell more Arrow shirt ads if Obama gets in?
What other advantage does this unqualified and untested b.s. artist posses to charm them into such a gamble with our future and security?
I say it’s ad revenue they’re after.
And lots of easy-to-compose and lucrative-to-illustrate metrosexual articles.
profitsbeard on October 17, 2008 at 1:31 AM
The utter lack of shame by the Post in claiming this:
Do they expect anyone to believe that they were ever going to consider Mac? LOL
Nice try Washington Obama Post.
Dritanian on October 17, 2008 at 1:42 AM
It’s okay, pretty soon they’ll all be out of that three-letter word: j-o-b-s.
Jim Treacher on October 17, 2008 at 2:14 AM
They can all go straight to hell after that hit piece on Cindy McCain regarding the cell tower. Big freaking whoop.
jimmy the notable on October 17, 2008 at 2:16 AM
Kerry’s running mate was super-experienced.
Jim Treacher on October 17, 2008 at 2:31 AM
I’m trying to remember how the WaPo tried to prettily package candidate AlGore’s stunning intellect. Gorebot “may look like a tree but he’s sharper than a hamster” or similar, yet differently phrased, rot spewed from the WaPo editorial offices pimping no less loyally for the DNC way back in 2000.
viking01 on October 17, 2008 at 2:39 AM
Gasp. I go to bed now. Shocked I am, indeed.
HawaiiLwyr on October 17, 2008 at 4:00 AM
Wow, I really thought they were going to endorse Mac… no, really!
Cr4sh Dummy on October 17, 2008 at 4:58 AM
I swear, sitting here at work reading this (on break), I wanted to p_ss on my computer. Then I remembered I was at work. Then I remembered if I waited until I got home, well, it would be my actual computer.
What a friggin’ hollow endorsement that was. To wit, “The nation would benefit by Obama doing X (except, perhaps, when it comes to Y)…” “Obama’s abilities exude A (except when they don’t)…” “Obama’s uniquely qualified to do Z (except in cases where he lacks experience in the matter)…”
Geez. Keep your endorsement if that’s what it takes.
Captain Scarlet on October 17, 2008 at 6:17 AM
Meh…and the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. How many here are surprised by this?
Matt Helm on October 17, 2008 at 6:36 AM
Oh, this just simply precious.
All Oslime-a has to do is throw Israel under the bus and Iran will work with him. All this after Oslime-a agree to meet with them with no preconditions. Now what dumb ass?
When was the last attack on the US mainland? Seven years ago? They unemployment rate was at record lows. The rise in the stock market. The blame they heap upon him personally for the recent crash.
The strife in this country has been exacerbated by the liberal media with their constant rancor over Bush policies/statements that they have framed in the wrong context.
1) Mission Accomplished
2) Just go “buy stuff”
3) Bush doctrine concerning Iraq
etc, etc, etc……
csdeven on October 17, 2008 at 7:44 AM
So their editorial board is putting their faith in their “enormous hope” regarding BO? Welcome to la-la land. Crikey!
Everyone needs to get to their local victory center and volunteer their time! Pronto!
ConMom on October 17, 2008 at 9:32 AM
The sun also rises in the east.

Best day evah:
Canceling my WaPoo subscription (decades-long btw) after they started undermining our troops at the beginning of the Iraqi war.
I had to buy a Wash Times every day at the local 7-11 to get unbiased news.
Let’s roll.
