“I think they look like a bunch of jerks after the debate the other night,” Giuliani said. “I think they should all say they made a mistake.”
Right on, Rudy! Then they should sftu & sftd.
If we can pull this one out, it won’t be because of the columnists, it’ll be the groundswell from Palin and (fingers crossed) McCain pointing out the dangers of Obama’s Marxist background.
Having grown up in NYC, I was a liberal indoctrinate. I crossed party lines for the first time to vote Rudy in as mayor in 1993 and I never looked back! You would not believe the vitriol that the libs here feel for him. It’s completely irrational.
I miss Rudy Giuliani as mayor. He was another Palin – took on corruption, crime and dirt and beat it all back. He knows the quality of Palin’s governorship and character.

In a world where everything is so calculated so as to appear bipartisan or PC or “compassionate”, hearing Rudy say exactly what many of us are thinking is so refreshing. Thank you, Rudy.

“Homeland Security Chief Ruy Giuliani.”
Has a nice ring to it, huh?
I saw Rudy up close and personal back in 2004. He was stumping for W, and the Mrs. and I were involved in the campaign that year. We received a call on a Sunday morning from a county committeeperson saying Rudy would be speaking at a local fire company later that day. We went, and listened to Rudy speak to a crowd of no more than 70-80 peope. Like Palin, Rudy had a knack for making you feel like he was one of us.
After he spoke I think he said hello or shook the hand of everyone in attendance. I showed up that day wearing my NY Yankee cap and I asked Rudy if he would autograph it for me. Of course his eyes lit up and he grinned when he saw the cap. He signed it for me, handed back the cap and gave me an approving wink.
Too bad the MSM trashed the guy before he got his feet wet in the campaign. Rudy’s one of the good guys who’s not afraid to take on anyone.
The conservatives who didn’t think he was “pure” enough did enough of their own trashing.
Mommynator on October 5, 2008 at 9:22 PM
I love Rudy G, but remember he was the first candidate that Dobson and Coulter trashed this election season. He’s pro-choice, and unfortunately that was a deal breaker for a lot of people for POTUS.

Rudy Giuliani, like Newt Gingrich, killed their chances to be great Republican leaders because of their complete lack of morality in thier private lives.
Its a real shame.

That said, McCain has done a few things that have won me over. I never liked him much, and I still don’t agree with him on every issue, but I’ve changed my mind about him.

Yeah, but Huck still sucks. And, you’re right, McCain probably won because he drew more Rudyesque supporters. But I wanna blame Huckster, I really do. Because his role in making McCain the nominee (and the attitude he had while doing it) really made me develop a visceral personal disliking of the man.

You’re probably right. He should have been Senator of NY instead of Hillary, but had to bow out…and there were probably a lot of people who wouldn’t vote for him because he’s Catholic, and a lot of people who wouldn’t vote for him because he’s had some messy family affairs.
That doesn’t mean he isn’t a great leader. And the fact that he might be marginally pro-choice doesn’t bother me. There’s no way he’d pick a liberal for the SCOTUS and that’s really the only way he would have an effect on that issue.
Giuliani is awesome. He is such a great fighter for republicans. I really miss him here in NYC.

Rudy was my guy in the primaries, and one of the things I like most about him is he is never confused about who is on his side and who isn’t, and he rather enjoys a good fight with those who aren’t. He will not run from a street fight, which is what we are in now.
Rudy needs to be out there for the team every day until Nov. 4. He is very popular in PA–send him here.

Rudy needed to win two of the first three (not including Michigan). That’s the only reason McCain won. McCain understood that and it was his strategy going in.
McCain blew off Iowa, but focused 100% on New Hampshire (which he had won before). After winning there, his momentum and the split between the others won him SC. . . and he rode that to the nom.
Rudy saw that McCain wasn’t competing in Iowa and he thought that would be a good idea for him too. Rudy should have won Iowa. He would have gotten the nomination if he had gone to Iowa for an entire 2 months before the caucuses (like Huckabee – who did win Iowa).
By the time it got to Florida, Rudy was fighting against McCain who was going to get at least 40% of the vote by then. Unless Rudy could get 40%, he loses because he put too much on Florida.
Bottom line though if there were a conservative on the primary ticket with the values of Palin, they would have won the nomination.
One thing’s for damn sure, if Rudy was the nominee we wouldn’t be writing endless amounts of posts complaining about the lack of fight so far. Rudy would have been roasting them from day one. Ah well, The Cuda seems to be getting some good practice swings in for 2012.
I take all of this back if McCain comes out swinging Tuesday night!
