Assuming of course, the Fairness Doctrine doesn’t see the light of day…
Good for him! Even better for us.

Does that count the two after the decimal point?
pappy on July 2, 2008 at 9:16 AM
Rush is the Fairness Doctrine.
besides, if these clowns ever try and enforce the Unfairness Doctrine, he can just go to satellite. And he’s sure as hell would have millions signing up. Far more than Stern could ever imagine.
Talk about a guy falling off the face of the earth.
BTW, Aug 1 will be his 20-year anniversary on air.
RushBaby on July 2, 2008 at 9:29 AM
Good for him. But does this warrant the spinning siren on Drudge?

Assuming of course, the Fairness Doctrine doesn’t see the light of day…
I’m not as worried about the Fascist Doctrine as I used to be. We’re smarter than leftists are. Pelosi’s street fighters can plant their roadside bombs, but the idea of thought control is so repulsive to the very heart and soul of America — yes, even in its current state of decay — that there’s no way that leftists can keep their finger in the dyke against mounting public outrage.
I can imagine an enterprising radio network meeting the letter of the Fascist Doctrine law by producing programming that expresses liberalism as sheer parody. On paper, the content could be totally indistinguishable from the DNC talking points or the Communist Manifesto. In presentation, it could be a hilarious bitchslapping of the left. Think of a genius like Andy Kaufman, he would abuse and ridicule his audience even as they laughed and cheered him on! Or was it really ridicule? Who knew?
Think big, my friend!

Drudge wont have to siren the Obama mortgage deal this way.

And this is what the libs don’t understand – you have a product that people want, you make money on said product. It’s as simple as that, and can be applied to everything from radio to oil to toilet paper. Why don’t they get it?
crazy_legs on July 2, 2008 at 9:34 AM
The day he parleyed 41 Democrat signatures for 4.2 million dollars towards military chldren was the day he earned my eternal respect.

Is Drudge for Obama? Seriously. I guess I haven’t paid attention.

Every time there is a Keith Olbermann or Chris Matthews story posted, there should be an addendum posted estimating the number of listeners for them vs. Rush that day. I’d guess it was 100 Rush to 1.

Good for him. Good for his advertisers. Good for us. Everyday he’s on the radio he serves as an example of the fact that anyone, who didn’t go to college, earning less than twenty grand in his thirties, yet has a dream, dedication, and hard work, can end up earning close to half a billion dollars in eight years. Congratulations, Rush. You’ve earned every nickel of it.

I agree! I am proud of him and I’m happy for our country.
Of course the DEMS are going to have a field day on this. Obscene wealth, etc… What they just don’t understand is that if Rush gave away all his money – if all wealthy people in this country gave away all their money and possessions to the poor in this country, it would not raise everyone out of the poverty level and keep them there.
Oink on July 2, 2008 at 10:08 AM
Fairness Doctrine would be a huge boon to conservatives. Or should I say an attempt to get it in place. From the overt un-democratic nature of it as a talking point for at least the next 20 years, to the easy correlation you can make with print and TV bias.
I hope and pray Democrats are dumb enough to try it.
P.S. Congrats Rush.

True, an artful distraction away from Obama bad news. Oh, lookie, now he’s changed the siren to the “golden microphone.”

Just to give this some scale, what’s a typical signing bonus at Air America?
A doobie? A shot of whiskey?
Something like that.
Rush, you are the king of all media!

Wasn’t Al Franken working for free there for a bit? So in essence, he was paying them.
