The Day OJ Confessed to Me

When I didn’t flinch, he just spilled.

“I grabbed the knife — I do remember that.”

He was stone-cold when he remembered the knife. He remembered grabbing that knife. Yes, he did!

As things got heated, I just remember Nicole fell and hurt herself, and this guy (Ron Goldman) kind of got into a karate thing. And I said, ‘Well, you think you can kick my ass?’ And I remember I grabbed the knife. … And to be honest, after that, I don’t remember, except I’m standing there and there’s all kind of stuff around and …

“What kind of stuff?” I asked.

“Blood,” he said. He had never seen so much blood in his life.

“I don’t think any two people could be murdered the way they were without everybody being covered in blood,” he went on.

“It was horrible — absolutely horrible.”

Be sure to read this all, because Regan discusses a lot of what was going on behind the scenes at Fox during this episode. Fox abandoned the project after getting heat over the Regan interview and OJ's book If I Did It and tried to make Regan the scapegoat. She ended up forcing them into a fat settlement and a retraction.

It's too bad this didn't air immediately, but I doubt it would make much difference. The interview eventually aired, everyone knows that Regan got OJ to admit to the murders, and it changed few minds anyway.
