Harry Reid: Liar

posted at 12:27 pm on February 27, 2014 by

Allahpundit described my reaction to Harry Reid’s latest broadsides against truth and decency rather accurately, writing that I was “virtually shaking with rage and disbelief that this tool could say this with a straight face.”  I eventually channeled that anger — and it was genuine anger — into a rapid fire Twitter fact-check of the US Senate’s dishonorable leader.  Reid asserted that “all of” the personal accounts from people who have been harmed by Obamacare “are untrue.”  In short, this known liar unironically and casually smeared millions of Americans, including a number of cancer patients, as liars for daring to notice that Democrats’ unpopular healthcare law was actively hurting them.  With a tip of the hat to our Twitchy cousins for compiling these tweets into a single post, here is a small slice of what the second most powerful Democrat in America sneers at as “untrue” fabrications of the Koch brothers.  Cancer patients whose plans they liked and depended on were canceled under Obamacare, violating the president’s promise and throwing their lives into turmoil:

Those are in addition to the Michigan woman whose story Reid called “absolutely false” in yet another cretinous, mean-spirited lie. Are these sick children, AIDS patients and disabled families doing the Koch’s bidding, too?

Now let’s hear from some decidedly not “rich” Americans whose healthcare costs are spiking thanks to Democrats’ big “affordable” experiment:

And finally, for good measure, let’s review some of the emotional — and actually inaccurate — “success” and sob stories that Democrats have trotted out to try to manipulate public opinion on Obamacare:

Obama wrongly embellishing the details of his own mother’s death is the perfect note on which to end. Conservatives’ anecdotes are fortified by statistics and evidence, too — even though the existence of any negative experiences should theoretically be enough to expose the Left’s mendacious “no trade-offs, no losers, no downsides” sales pitch for their disastrous law. Oh, and the worst betrayals are yet to come for millions of victims-in-waiting. Or as Reid might call them, future liars.

I’m still waiting for the fascist Harry Reid to answer the questions about his alleged pedophilia.

Valient effort, Guy. If only objective truth mattered to Democrat politicians and those who vote for them.

As the leader of the nation lies, so does his followers. It’s their best stradegy and if you repeat it long enough the low information sheep will believe it.

You and Twitchy have performed a remarkable service.

But where is John Boehner, Eric Cantor, or Paul Ryan?

Where is Mr. McConnell? Where is Scott Walker or Chris Christie?

Why is Bobby Jindal worried about “too much” Robertobamacare?

Why does it always fall to handful of conservative media folks to do the job?

Why are these tweets not on permanent display on the House and Senate floor?

Liar ? I’ve got a much better term: POS

deadrody on February 27, 2014 at 1:53 PM

And none of this will ever be mentioned by the MSM, so most people will remain blissfully unaware of what a POS Reid is.

Hard to imagine that Reid has an actual cognitive process here that is remotely similar to that of people who go to work every day in the private sector. He can’t possibly be as stupid as Pelosi, but I’m guessing his grasp of life outside of the world of make-believe that Congress has become for Democrats is not only tenuous, but far worse than that, irrelevant to him. He lives in a little cocoon of favors and slurs and deals and enemies, and to him taxpayers are regarded the way the DMV employee regards the customer in line: an annoyance between him and the money.

Statistics and evidence that contradict the narrative must be fabricated- and how dare you tell us our feelings are less real than your phoney so-called “facts”!

/The standard progressive response to being caught lying, being stupidly dogmatic, or both at the same time.

You cannot have a rational debate with the irrational. It’s like trying to convince George Adamski that Venus isn’t an Edenic paradise inhabited by tall, beautiful, Aryan-looking “Space Brothers”. He claimed all those Venera probes in the Sixties were shoveling out deliberately-falsified data to discredit him.

When dealing with the equivalent of fanatic UFO “contactee” believer types, objective reality simply does not matter.

The only way to comfortably cope with this sort of mentality is to make damned sure they never have political power. Otherwise, you’re dealing with the equivalent of a hippie on uppers driving an eighteen-wheeler.

Loaded with nitroglycerine.

Something as complicated, sensitive, heart-wrenching, expensive, and personal as the mechanics of cancer care is not benefited by being subject to the large mallet that is the approach of a gargantuan, mindless, faceless, bureaucratic system like ObamaCare.

All these people who are physically harmed by Obamacare because of dropped coverage… does that give them standing to sue?

sadatoni on February 27, 2014 at 3:53 PM

And the fact that he lied, and lies and lies and lies, will not mean a thing to the LSM or Dem voters. They don’t care. It gives them a patina of ‘deniability’ with which to coat their consciences, if they have any left.

It makes no difference. The deck is stacked against the truth.

What’s the term? “Subhuman mongrel”?

“Fifty-six percent of those who identified as uninsured in a new poll conducted in February by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, a research institution, had an unfavorable view of the health care reform law”

According to Senate Majority Leader (and funeral director wannabee) Harry Reid and Senator Chuck Schumer, these 56% don’t exist.
I bet if they show up at the polls on Election Day, they will want them to show a photo ID.

J_Crater on February 27, 2014 at 4:42 PM

Reid is a soulless liar, it’s just that simple.
