Poll: ‘Impeach Obama’ Larouchie leads Texas Democrats’ Senate primary

posted at 11:27 am on February 25, 2014 by

This poll made the rounds yesterday because of its top line result in Texas’ gubernatorial race.  In case you missed it, Republican Greg Abbott leads late-term abortion champion Wendy Davis by double digits, with the Democrat attracting the support of just 36 percent of likely voters.  But there’s another data point buried deep within the Texas Tribune/UT survey that is highly embarrassing for Democrats:

Meet Kesha Rogers, Democratic frontrunner:

As an acolyte of perennial presidential fringe candidate Lyndon LaRouche, she believes the U.S. economy is secretly controlled by a cabal of London financial institutions. She’s paraded around Houston with a giant picture of Obama sporting a Hitler mustache and compared the Affordable Care Act to 1930s-era Nazi eugenics policies…She also advocates increased NASA funding so America can use missiles to defend against asteroids, and to colonize Mars.

There’s more.  Feast your eyes on an online ad (?) performed and edited by her campaign.  It blends a familiar, whistle-along tune from Mary Poppins with a dash of lighthearted…Hitler comparisons:

To repeat, this woman leads her party’s Senate field by eight points.  If the primaries were held tomorrow, Wendy Davis and Kesha Rogers would sit atop Texas Democrats’ ticket heading into November.  Turn Texas Blue — Because Texans deserve serious, non-insane leadership, or something!

She won the TX-22 Dem primary in 2010 and 2012, getting crushed by the unimpressive Pete Olson in the general.

…well!…seeing how the Demorats cheat…she should win by six percentage points then!

I looked at that video…..

Kesha will be getting some drone visits soon…..

redguy on February 25, 2014 at 11:44 AM

Some times I wish righty’s would just SHUT UP and let things play out.

cozmo on February 25, 2014 at 11:52 AM

To repurpose an old Aggie joke:

You can always tell a Texas Democrat . . . You just can’t tell them much.

No Truce With Kings on February 25, 2014 at 11:56 AM

Now if it were a choice between Wendy and Kesha…

Ukiah on February 25, 2014 at 12:10 PM

Catchy tune.

HumpBot Salvation on February 25, 2014 at 12:17 PM

Hey, I’ve seen her! She was with a group of about five other people on a corner in a little town in southeast Houston called Deer Park. The stoplight wasn’t long enough for me to hear what she was prattling on about. I did see the sign of Obama with the Hitler moustache.

cozmo on February 25, 2014 at 11:52 AM

Like the one time where the right laughed and laughed and laughed at how an unelectable Democratic candidate was rising in the polls, and the Democrats still went ahead and nominated him for Presidential candidacy?

I don’t think shutting up would’ve had any effect on how that circus played out.

Second look at the Larouchies?

Kensington on February 25, 2014 at 1:04 PM

Dear God.

I pray for my home state and the United States.

Has Austin metastasized to consume the whole state?

oldsquid on February 25, 2014 at 1:05 PM

Obama just isn’t very popular in Texas, at all.

Bitter Clinger on February 25, 2014 at 1:13 PM

Hilarious. In second place is David Alameel, a lefty “Catholic” who got like ten votes a couple of years ago, when he ran in the Dem primary for the 33rd District House seat.

oldsquid on February 25, 2014 at 1:05 PM

It shows where the dems are, not the state. No worries.

DanMan on February 25, 2014 at 2:45 PM

On the BRIGHT side, it will be easier to debunk ANY msm reporter that claim the Democrat LaRouchies are Tea Partiers.

Every Republican needs to identify this woman as the established face of the Democratic party! Let Chuck Schumer explain this part of the DEMOCRATIC party again and again and again …

Yes dear.

Freddy on February 25, 2014 at 3:08 PM

Can we wait until she gets the nomination first?

Nobody cared when David duke ran for office as a democrat. Let this Larouchie nut get past a primary and tie her to the dems. The scumbag lapdog media will cover for the dems. But it will be more entertaining.

cozmo on February 25, 2014 at 3:25 PM

I didn’t even know there were any democrats running for the Senate in Texas.

trigon on February 25, 2014 at 4:39 PM

I’ll be voting in the Dem primary in Dallas county, just to put Ms. Rogers on the ballot.

Bouncing Beatnik on February 25, 2014 at 4:42 PM

That’s almost funny. It would be funnier if it weren’t being used in the service of a complete whack job.

Athanasius on February 25, 2014 at 4:48 PM

Now THAT’s a democrat I could vote for!

SteveThomas on February 25, 2014 at 5:44 PM

If the primaries were held tomorrow, Wendy Davis and Kesha Rogers would sit atop Texas Democrats’ ticket heading into November.

A dream come true for Abbott and Cornyn. It is more obvious now why Cornyn voted for the unpopular debt limit recently. He doesn’t think he has to worry in the general election if this is the competition.

I don’t see a problem here.

Lanceman on February 25, 2014 at 6:54 PM

We are hoping having a nutjob on the ticket will keep the Democrats in their own primary.

That may not be good news for Cornhole.

If she wins and goes against him in the general, that might end up being a tough decision for me.

Grammar Nazi on February 25, 2014 at 8:08 PM

At least she’s interesting. Catchy song.

Dan_Yul on February 26, 2014 at 1:38 AM

And what is far fetched about that?

VorDaj on February 26, 2014 at 7:32 AM

In all fairness most Democrats polled probably think it’s the singer Ke$ha.

ButterflyDragon on February 26, 2014 at 7:38 AM

I’d vote Kesha over Cornyn!

redware on February 26, 2014 at 9:23 AM

she resonates, her first campaign promise it to vote to impeach Obama

DanMan on February 26, 2014 at 5:56 PM

Kesha is the most fantastic, awesome candidate i’ve evah seen!! I hope she wins the primary!
