I’m guessing a lot of those independents are conservatives frustrated with the Republican brand name.

hopeful on January 21, 2014 at 8:49 AM

Oh and Sanders and Bloomberg may claim to be independents but they’re at least as leftist as the President.

hopeful on January 21, 2014 at 8:51 AM

it will be interesting to see where the left goes — either Bloomberg fascism or Sanders socialism.

Get a Richard Sherman/Michael Crabtree ticket and I’m in.

LaughterJones on January 21, 2014 at 9:04 AM

I think this is called “tongue in cheek.”

No Truce With Kings on January 21, 2014 at 9:06 AM

It looks like Frank Luntz and Mitt Romney have both joined Team Let It Burn! Good for them! Give into your despair!

BigGator5 on January 21, 2014 at 9:08 AM

So, is this a new feature, AP? Tweet Of The Day? (Or TwOTD? sound it out……)

Understatement of the year!

JetBoy on January 21, 2014 at 9:15 AM

With the surge in people calling themselves ‘independents’ now, would a Bernie Sanders/Michael Bloomberg ticket be a shoo-in for 2016?

Has he gone retarded? You think those might be pissed off conservatives there Frank? I intend to change my affiliation when I get the chance to go by the court house.

That’s me. I switched to Independent until it became a real party in MA. I then switched to unaffiliated.

Now there is an idea. We can start the Unaffiliated Party and get bombarded by fundraising calls and junk mail from both sides!

I’m sorry, but these pollsters are missing the obvious story. Mark my words: The next President of the United States will be a member of the Rent is Too Damn High Party.

If you don’t answer that with an unqualified “yes,” you don’t know who Frank Luntz is.

Exactly.

I’m still a Registered Republican, but the Republican establishment thinks Tea Party conservatives like me are the enemy, when we are in fact a very significant part of the base of the party.

The next President of the United States had darn well better be a member of the “The Cost of Obamacare is Too Damn High” Party.

Wow, he’s not just a little depressed, he’s losing it. I hope he is getting medication and appropriate therapy-this is a sincere statement, not just snark. He might want to refrain from tweeting til he gets past the acute phase of depression.
