She was kind of mean towards the end…

Yeah, that ranks up there with displaying your swiss bank account number. Except anyone with a swiss bank account understands security to some extent. Nimrods with electronic money? Not so much. People tend to be *really* stupid when it comes to electronic security.

Welcome to the technological age, sir.

And what was up with the chick at the end? Sheesh.

You would think keeping your bits covered would be common sense, but sense isn’t so common these days.

“Money” in which displaying it in public results in it being immediately stolen.

Awesome.

In crypto, you keep your private key private. It has nothing specifically to do with what’s being protected. Capiche?

How many Americans do you think know what public/private key encryption is? Hell, for that matter, how many Americans know what PGP is? Or RSS? We’re a nation of dumb.

gryphon202 on December 24, 2013 at 8:33 PM

Don’t be so hard on us. It’s the 21st Century. Most of my friends had to be dragged kicking and screaming into 20th Century technology.

It’s more that we’re a nation of ignorant. Ignorance can be cured with a little education. Dumb is permanent.

The 30000 ft view is pretty simple, which is all most people need if they want to use it. Most people think they understand money, which very few probably really do.

America did elect Obama twice. I guess I don’t hold out a lot of hope.

Public key vs. Private Key.

Sure, America is not too bright, but come on!

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out which key you are supposed to share and which you are supposed to keep to yourself.
