Finally: Liberals using sex to sell ObamaCare

posted at 7:25 pm on December 18, 2013 by

Via Reason and Ace, good news and bad news for our mostly straight male readership. The good news: At long last, we’ve reached the “hardbodies parading mostly nude” stage of getting people to enroll in O-Care.

The bad news: It ain’t Kate Upton.

Given the cultural stereotypes Team Hopenchange is willing to embrace to sell the law, I’m now morbidly curious to see what their minority outreach looks like. Exit question: No T&A for the straight dudes? C’mon, OFA. Motivate me.

Oh, and damn reprobates and whatnot.

Jeddite on December 18, 2013 at 7:28 PM

I got a distinct “vibe” from that video. Health care is very, very happy. You might even say it’s….

DFCtomm on December 18, 2013 at 7:32 PM

I don’t know what is gheyer, that or Andrew Sullivan grabbing his own butt on Bill Maher’s show.

Rocks on December 18, 2013 at 7:34 PM

Bitter Clinger on December 18, 2013 at 7:48 PM

I can’t wait to see the Asian outreach ad for Obamacare set in a pachinko parlor.

Probably like “Undercover Brother”.

Isn’t this the enroll elect obama organizing america spin off thingie?
A podesta brainthrust?

I shared with my bf.
He and I argued for years about the current admin. I have no problems with the gays.
I wonder if it occurs to anyone in the sae (smartest administration evah) that depending on a positive reaction by few may make queasy many.
Wow. Just wow.
They must be way smarter then me.

seesalrun2 on December 18, 2013 at 8:09 PM

That’s funny – no mention in the ad of the fact that gay men will now be forced to buy plans covering prenatal care.

Tzetzes on December 18, 2013 at 8:22 PM

Now, if they made an ad with guys looking like that, dressed like that, to appeal to straight women, they might actually get somewhere. Or a lottery for a date with a guy that looked like that that was straight-hey, Obamacare comes with free birth control or free maternity and pediatric care depending on your preference, so you’d be covered either way.

talkingpoints on December 18, 2013 at 8:36 PM

I won’t be having what those gays in the YouTube video are having.

Tzetzes on December 18, 2013 at 8:22 PM

Doesn’t Obamacare somehow shortchange those who have HIV?

BuckeyeSam on December 18, 2013 at 8:39 PM

Interesting how Obamacrats push only deviant sex: thus demonstrating that their ignorance of economics and healthcare is matched by their ignorance of biology and morality.

landlines on December 18, 2013 at 8:41 PM

WTF WHAT IS THIS!!! OKAY I KNOW, THIS IS DEFINITELY THE FUNNIEST AND GREATEST THING I HAVE SEEN IN A WHILE IDK I MEAN WHAT DID I JUST WATCH I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY ANYMORE LOLOLOL SORRY XDDDDD my favorite part was when that one guy was on the ladder and another guy was looking at his butt hahahaha wow

Sachiko on December 18, 2013 at 9:24 PM

In other news, A&E is about to go off the air because they can’t handle the opinions about sexual deviants.

LoganSix on December 18, 2013 at 9:41 PM

Here’s all the evidence I need to know that gay is something you’re born with (or at least not something one chooses).

If I was single and as good looking as even the homeliest of those fellas I’d be using my looks 24/7/365 to attract women. Why oh why would I waste such G-d-given (and gym-earned) good looks just to frollick with other dudes. Unless that was the only thing I was innately driven to do.

And there you have it.

SoRight on December 18, 2013 at 9:42 PM

SIGH!

gerrym51 on December 18, 2013 at 9:45 PM

Why do they want to attract people who have unhealthy lifestyles into Obamacare exchanges again?

At least if they went after smokers they’d a) be targeting a group that lives longer, b) be targeting a group with fewer psychological problems, and c) be targeting a massive portion of the population instead of a small portion of it already predisposed to support Obamacare.

BKennedy on December 18, 2013 at 11:52 PM

Their women are ugly. It won’t work.

Other dudes can’t get pregnant, and if you claim you are gay you get to be a special little snowflake forever, and sue whoever you want to.

It isn’t 1950 anymore. At this point overt homosexuality is a status symbol. You don’t even have to worry about a vindictive girlfriend on the down-low. Just claim you are bisexual.

BKennedy on December 18, 2013 at 11:59 PM

I stuck it out to about half way.

Excuse me,,,,,I’m a little ill.

FOWG1 on December 19, 2013 at 12:11 AM

OMG! That’s as bad as the K-Mart commercial that caused me to refuse to shop there anymore.

yesiamapirate on December 19, 2013 at 1:23 AM

I marvel at the fact that you AROUSED curiosity so brilliantly without using the words GAY or HOMOSEXUAL. Are you afraid of a GLAAD swarm from the Gay Gestapo?

As for me, I find this ad to be the sickest, most pathetic ad possibly ever produced in memory. It probably fits the definition of soft porn. It’s a complete waste of TAXPAYER money!

mountainaires on December 19, 2013 at 6:04 AM

BKennedy on December 18, 2013 at 11:59 PM

True. And so it was in Ancient Rome, too. That is before the Roman Empire collapsed into dust.

I’m not anti-gay; I actually support equal civil rights. But this new Gay Bullying and the new propaganda agenda to push gay into everything, is really offensive. I’m sick of these bullies. Now, no one is allowed to say anything that isn’t approved by GLAAD; and we’re forced to spend our tax dollars pushing homosexuality.

Liberals/Progressives are sick; it’s a mental illness.

mountainaires on December 19, 2013 at 6:16 AM

pajama boy (aka young Harry Ried) might like it

Deafdog on December 19, 2013 at 8:30 AM

Aren’t the dog tags a nice touch? However, a little stereotypical perhaps, seeing as they put them on the black dude.

CJ on December 19, 2013 at 8:39 AM

Dude!?!? That’s just queer. 44 seconds was all I could endure.

Bmore on December 19, 2013 at 8:52 AM

I thought that was a fluke?

rogerb on December 19, 2013 at 9:02 AM

This is so gay, it turned my mouse pink…

Valkyriepundit on December 19, 2013 at 9:03 AM

Comfort women.

BobMbx on December 19, 2013 at 9:07 AM

seesalrun2 on December 18, 2013 at 8:09 PM

Freudian slip?

GWB on December 19, 2013 at 9:37 AM

Well, if your starting point is basically obscurity, even bad publicity can be helpful.
This might get people talking about the goofy parody, but not much more.

lynncgb on December 19, 2013 at 10:05 AM

Yeah, no.

Fallon on December 19, 2013 at 10:15 AM

So Roger DeBris now directs YouTube videos for Obamacare instead of Broadway shows for Bialystock and Bloom?

JimLennon on December 19, 2013 at 10:35 AM

Reminded me of the Kmart ad.

Not that I would but I couldn’t find an open Kmart store if I tried.

Fallon on December 19, 2013 at 10:57 AM

BKennedy on December 18, 2013 at 11:59 PM

You sure about that? Haven’t you ever seen 2 gay guys fight.
Claws……

MontanaMmmm on December 19, 2013 at 12:43 PM

Waaaay too macho for Pajama Boy…

de rigueur on December 19, 2013 at 2:46 PM

I Obamacare covered hookers, in the name of mental health, they might get somewhere. Call them “Wellness Consultants” and do it by executive order. Done.

IndieDogg on December 20, 2013 at 3:30 PM

Oh, I can’t believe you got me to click on that!!!!!!
