Needless to say, this is NSFW from KSN, courtesy of TV Spy:

Repeat after me: the first rule in broadcasting is that the mike is always on. Rule #2: Don’t ever, ever forget Rule #1.

Thank you.

At first blush I thought it read “Mika”.

I was expecting another MJ classic.

Best local newscast signoff I’ve heard in a looong time. :)

JimLennon on December 16, 2013 at 3:36 PM

Ironically if he’d said it on camera intentionally he’d probably be a internet sensation now.

I was wondering just who he was talking about in that headline, too.

DJ-speak would also have “Always On” as “Always Hot”.

WE’LL DO IT LIVE!!

CurtZHP on December 16, 2013 at 4:26 PM

Though some of the funniest on air verbal mishaps are safe for work and happen when the newsguy/gal know both the mic and camera are on them safe for work, e.g. “BUT. . . he’s gay!”.

whatcat on December 16, 2013 at 4:32 PM

I like that guy. Who doesn’t say and/or think that when the work day is done?

I don’t know, I like it better than I liked “Courage”.

I applaud his honesty.
And look forward to him soon announcing local high school football games.

A friend told me that the closest he ever heard John Wayne come to cussing was when he told some sheep herders to “Get the flock out of here.”

Lol I say that everyday as I leave my job

jaywemm on December 16, 2013 at 9:32 PM

Let’s roll back to Mic is always on, case #1.

Nothing new under the sun.

What do you think Fred Flintstone meant when he said “Yabba Dabba Do!” at the end of the working day?

Hmmm. I heard a story, John Wayne is speaking at a college campus, and some angry co-ed who didn’t like his politics got up and yelled at him, “F*** You!”. And in his best John Wayne drawl, he replied, “Well, f*** you too, young lady”.
