The 1870s called and they want their facial hair back.

But I’ll comment on them anyway.

I am offended that these men have beards. Our slaveholding founders had beards. Therefore, racists all.

faraway on October 30, 2013 at 8:03 PM

I hate baseball players with beards! Yuck.

francesca on October 30, 2013 at 8:08 PM

Well you fit into Buzzfeed perfectly Ham, and that’s not a compliment.

I’d never seen Brian Wilson without a beard before today.

22044 on October 30, 2013 at 8:20 PM

I asked the autographed photo of Stan The Man Musial on the wall what he thought of all the hipster beards in Major League Ball and listened intently for the great man’s answer. From out of the ether it came:

“They look like a feral pack of hobos sporting this decade’s version of the mullet.”

M240H on October 30, 2013 at 8:28 PM

Mike Napoli, Josh Reddick and Brian Wilson (not to be confused with the Beach Boy) look like rejects from a ZZ Top tribute band audition.

Bigfoot on October 30, 2013 at 8:44 PM

It is Hunting Season. *scratch*

Is there a cross between a douche and a blowhard? New species. You are it. Also, learn to punctuate before you talk smack again.

Why Mary Katharine Ham, how are you ever going to get anyone to embrace your viewpoint when to treat them like that? Or is it just liberals like Juan Williams that deserves your civility? Or maybe the OWS type whackjob liberals at Buzzfeed?

MKH, I Love the smackdown of the gilled one.

Beards are for millionaires that can’t afford to join the dollar razor club.

I hope they keep the beards. Looked good out there. I keep mine because it hides my other chin. :)

lowandslow on October 30, 2013 at 10:25 PM

One good thing about conservatives is that we don’t act like liberals.

Then along comes a guy like this. Oh well, the exception proves the rule, I guess…or something.

Anyway, I am opposed to full beards. Down with beards, down with beards!! As a woman, however, I am fully in favor of men in baseball uniforms. Best get-up in professional sports, hands-down. :-)

Grace_is_sufficient on October 31, 2013 at 5:51 AM

I’m so happy that Boston won. Lots of former Texas Rangers on there (Napoli, Salty, Koji to name a few) John Lackey lives in Fort Worth. Mostly I’m happy because they beat St. Louis. To quote another sports legend here in D/FW, Dirk Nowitski (in German accent) TAKE THAT WIT CHOO! How do YOU like losing the World Series bit–es?! I’m a Texas Rangers fan and game 6 of the 2011 WS still rankles.

neyney on October 31, 2013 at 7:40 AM

Now that beards are apparently the in thing, I need to shave mine.

NotCoach on October 31, 2013 at 9:24 AM

Mary Katharine, I will start a college fund for you know who, if you will send the gilled one into moderation. ; ) Seriously. I know you have the power. ; )

Bmore on October 31, 2013 at 10:41 AM

As Old Hoss Radbourn joked in his Twitter feed, it was very disconcerting to see Dustin Pedroia at bat to end the inning…and then right away see a preview for “The Hobbit” during the commerical break.

Waggoner on October 31, 2013 at 11:37 AM

There are some pretty epic beards there.

Lovin’ my beard, especially now that it’s starting to get chilly.
