“I don’t remember saying that everyone in the country would have a lower premium”

posted at 1:17 pm on September 30, 2013 by

Well, that’s what recording devices are for, Nancy.  We covered the former Speaker’s attempt to slither away from her own Obamacare sales pitch back in June; now the current Speaker is highlighting his predecessor’s shameless revisionism:

Boehner’s office released this video over the weekend to help advance the GOP’s messaging on delaying Obamacare by one year — which enjoys strong public support and bipartisan backing in Congress.  But when government shutdown muddies the waters, Republicans lose their advantage.  Harry Reid’s Senate, which took the weekend off, is about to reconvene and punt the latest House-passed CR back into Boehner’s lap.  What happens next isn’t clear, although AP’s four scenarios basically have the bases covered.  (Spoiler alert: Brace for Republican pain and recriminations, no matter what).

To be fair though, Pelosi also “forgot” that the workers on her vineyard aren’t unionized.

And she also “forgot” that she attended briefings on enhanced interrogation procedures that outlined and explained how waterboarding was being used on Abu Zubaydah.

libfreeordie also doesn’t remember Democrat promises that ObamaCare was directed at providing insurance for the legions of uninsured out there.

gwelf on September 30, 2013 at 4:44 PM

Next Pelosi is going to tell us she didn’t claim ObamaCare was going to boost the economy.

Or that Democrats never tried to claim ObamaCare would reduce the deficit.

gwelf on September 30, 2013 at 4:45 PM

Wow. We’re in the twilight zone. Since we’ve been propagandized for years, we all know Repubs are in the tank for big business and Demos are all about helping the downtrodden masses. Ha! But of course, you’ll never hear from the ‘press’ now that the Demos are now taking care of big business while sticking it to the workers.

And from what I’ve read, it’s about to be the financially bankrupt DNC–they’re already morally bankrupt.

It’s all about ’14. Surely, in a 2000 page bill there must be some kind of throwaway that could have been used during even a 5 minute negotiation between the undertaker and bonehead just to make it look like they cared about the country. Seems there is a cold war being waged in our govt.
