Star DHS manager now on paid vacation

Paid administrative leave“?  After operating a website that lists the President of the United States on an enemies list, doesn’t the Department of Homeland Security have a couple of better options?

The Department of Homeland Security said Friday that an employee who runs a racist website predicting and advocating a race war has been put on paid administrative leave.

Ayo Kimathi, an acquisitions officer for Immigration and Customs Enforcement who is in charge of buying weapons and ammunition for the government, operates the website named “War on the Horizon.” It includes descriptions of an “unavoidable, inevitable clash with the white race.” Kimathi is black.

Kimathi, who calls himself the “Irritated Genie,” told his supervisors that the website was set up to sell concert and lecture videos.

Kimathi has been with the department since 2009. His website criticizes whites, gays, those of mixed race, and blacks who integrate with whites. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups, earlier this week reported on Kimathi’s role in running the site.

I’ll give you even odds he gets his job back, too. Remember what his job is?

Kimathi’s former supervisor said among his duties at DHS and ICE is speaking at various vendor events. He’s one of the agency’s public faces. It is his job to advocate for small business owners “white, black, historically disadvantaged, disabled veteran-owned, everybody,” the supervisor said.

“He fights for the little guy,” the supervisor said. “And he’s very good at it. He has a commanding presence. He’s very suave. It’s almost as if he has a split personality.”

The real question is this: how did DHS manage to miss this when even the Southern Poverty Law Center managed to find it — especially with DHS’ hyperventilation about right-wing extremism?

Hey, maybe this is why we can’t find any ammo in the stores.

This supervisor is a moron who needs to be fired. It appears there are no actual standards at DHS except rabid socialism or something. Geez, Louise!

Just utter insanity.

I would say the real question is why don’t they care? Even after it’s been made public, the reaction is to give him a paid vacation. They knew all along and they hope it’s forgotten about when he comes back.

After Hasan, wouldn’t you think the government would be a bit more vigilant about the employed kooks?

That’s the difference between an inclusive and exclusive friends list. I hope I don’t have to spell that out further.

If it had been a white supremacist website, is there any doubt the guy would have been fired on the spot?

Cindy Munford on August 24, 2013 at 11:36 AM

That assumes that Hasan was some kind of mistake to begin with.

These are exactly the kinds of people this administration wants running things.

Yeah, I guess that ties in with the story in the headlines that the Founding Fathers were extremists according to D.O.D.. Interesting who is being labelled the “enemy” and who gets a pass. And I wonder when the government is going to start using well paid vacations on a large scale for the punishment of crimes?

Cindy Munford on August 24, 2013 at 12:20 PM

I see a promotion in this guy’s future.

DAT60A3 on August 24, 2013 at 12:30 PM

Oh seriously, you don’t get this? He’s black. If you’re black in this administration, you can cook and eat live babies and they won’t find anything wrong with what we’re doing it. Everyone trying to dance around and avoid pointing out the obvious, but there it is – this is the most virulently racist administration in this Nation’s history.

Incompetence rewarded.

Again.

TimBuk3 on August 24, 2013 at 2:11 PM

Oh man, this is my ticket. I’ll get one of these Fed jobs, royally screw up and get a paid vacation for an indeterminate period. Only one problem; I’m not a minority.

SteveInRTP on August 24, 2013 at 2:35 PM

I’m not sure it’s fair to call this a “paid vacation”.

Is he actually getting charged vacation days, or is this just bonus time for a job well done?

malclave on August 24, 2013 at 3:35 PM

Administrative leave is involuntary so I don’t think they can take his vacation or sick days.

They should fire him, his boss and the folks who hired that person, because they deserve it for either racism incompetence or both.

dogsoldier on August 24, 2013 at 3:38 PM

lists the President of the United States on an enemies list,

Only the Dunham side is on the enemies list.
The 0bama (Frank Marshall Davis) side is on the friends list.

The real question is this: how did DHS manage to miss

Cause of slavery…….Obama………………..Trayvon…………….

Aint that enough honky? ( I can call Ed a honky because I’m a honky. It’s a honky thing, non whites don’t necessarily understand.)

He runs a blog that most of us find reprehensible. However, if it is done on his own time outside of work then whether I like what he writes or not it is a 1st amendment issue. If he has actually made threats against others that is a local LE or an FBI matter.

As to firing him he was hired four years ago which means he is off probation and they will need cause to do that. At this point no one has laid out any facts that he is not doing the job he was hired to do correctly. Lots of speculation though. It is extremely difficult to even fire someone for cause that isn’t doing the job correctly. There are many hoops to jump through to give that employee a chance to correct the behavior. It takes up to two years once you start the process provide then offender keeps offending. The only way to really get rid of a problem employee in the civil service rapidly is if they are caught misusing a government credit card. Then it is resign or be charged for a crime.

Day after day, the progtard media is reminded why it will never again be able to criticize a Republican administration- it there ever happens to be one, ever again.

Precedent.

…WTF is it with the “paid leave” krap…if you work for the government?

Doc Hudson: All right, I wanna know who’s responsible for wrecking my town, Sheriff. I want his hood on a platter! I’m gonna put him in jail ’til he rots. No, check that… I’m gonna put him in jail ’til the jail rots on top of him, then I’m gonna move him to a new jail and let that jail rot. I’m – [finally spots Lightning] Throw him outta here, Sheriff! I want him out of my courtroom, I want him out of our town! Case dismissed!

unclesmrgol on August 25, 2013 at 4:59 PM

Then they can move him over to another department when it’s safe.

claudius on August 26, 2013 at 9:36 AM

All this will not end in a neat and pretty manner.
