Second look at nuclear war that wipes out all human beings?

rbj on August 20, 2013 at 3:37 PM

What a heartbreaking story.

terryannonline on August 20, 2013 at 3:50 PM

Autistic kids make noises.

Newsflash: So do non-autistic kids.

The letter-writer should move to a retirement community if she doesn’t want to deal with kids.

Maddie on August 20, 2013 at 3:51 PM

Pretty vile.

neyney on August 20, 2013 at 3:53 PM

hate crime.

homesickamerican on August 20, 2013 at 3:56 PM

That is one selfish person. How are you as the average Joe, even as the average Joe neighbor annoyed at “noise” motivated enough to not just put this bile down on paper, but actually to go through with sending / dropping it off? Talk about not having a shred of compassion in your soul.

Tacitus on August 20, 2013 at 3:57 PM

And remember: It’s the pro-lifers who are the most vile people to ever walk the earth. /

nobar on August 20, 2013 at 3:57 PM

The sow that wrote that vile garbage could use a harshly worded face to face. Ten will get you twenty her kids are the biggest brats in the county.

antipc on August 20, 2013 at 3:59 PM

This was truly heartbreaking for me when I read it. I’ve been in education for the past couple of years (2 years as a sub in middle/high school, currently work as a paraprofessional in an elementary school), so I’ve worked with special needs kids on all levels. Most of these kids are the sweetest kids you can possibly deal with. The letter writer is a truly deplorable human being, and I hope she or he gets doxxed quick and suffers a lifetime of fake pizza deliveries while walking on a huge pile of Legos.

ScoopPC11 on August 20, 2013 at 4:20 PM

I don’t know that this story is all that bad. The entire community is ready to support her and the family in any way they can all because of a letter. I’m not saying the letter isn’t horrible, just that even without an actual threat or violence, there are so many people rushing in to help. There might be one rotten apple in the neighborhood, but the rest seem genuinely kind hearted.

At least that’s my takeaway from this.

Esthier on August 20, 2013 at 4:21 PM

here is the letter itself if anyone wants to see it. it’s just so incredibly creepy that there is a person walking around your neighborhood right near you with so much burning hate toward you but won’t actually say it out loud.

but whoever wrote the letter is clearly not smart at all, and they’re most likely a coward who won’t actually do anything besides writing a letter. they think they’re so big and tough just because they wrote a dumb letter!! the letter-writer is no different that many anonymous people who are on the internet, sadly.

and another thing that’s sad is that there are a bunch of people who would agree with the letter. oh sure they may not have actually written it if they had the chance but they sure have had the same thoughts about the mentally handicapped. i actually saw a comment on another site that said “i don’t see this as hate. it’s just practical. survival of the fittest.” (fortunately, some people got angry at that commenter)

And remember: It’s the pro-lifers who are the most vile people to ever walk the earth. /

nobar on August 20, 2013 at 3:57 PM

yeah i wonder how many people who are outraged by this letter would be totally fine if the same kid had been aborted? hmm.

you’re right because in the end, this incident will motivate people to show more love toward the mentally handicapped. so i think overall it’s a good thing.

Sachiko on August 20, 2013 at 4:24 PM

No crime committed yet local authorities are still investigating it…doesn’t anyone see the major problem with the road that law enforcement is going down in the United States and Canada? What’s the point of an investigation where no crime was committed?

I only subbed for a short period of time but my favorite time was subbing in a special needs class. Honestly, they were so much easier to deal with.

terryannonline on August 20, 2013 at 4:28 PM

Think this letter is outrageous? Vile? Incomprehensible? Then you’d better be pro-life. Because this is exactly what a culture which devalues human life produces.

Shump on August 20, 2013 at 4:30 PM

A sick person outed herself with a letter. What’s so heartbreaking? It’s a cry for help.

John the Libertarian on August 20, 2013 at 4:34 PM

Yeah. I’m thinking this person has serious mental health issues.

terryannonline on August 20, 2013 at 4:38 PM

With the outpouring of support, and lack of details, the cynic in me suggests an inside job.

Leroy Nieman is alive, well & anchoring the news in Ontario!

mdenis39 on August 20, 2013 at 5:12 PM

I don’t believe this is real. It seems like a hoax because it’s designed to hit every button likely to cause outrage in the public not simply to insult or chastise someone who disturbed someone’s peace.

Kay_L on August 20, 2013 at 5:20 PM

As a mother of a teenager with Tourette’s Syndrome, I am horrified by this letter. My son goes through periods where he makes repetitious verbal sounds. Yes, it is annoying to HIM and others who hear it. But he cannot help it or control it. I don’t know what I would do if I got such an evil, heartless letter from an anonymous neighbor. Maybe she should try to put herself in this mother’s shoes and sympathize. She better hope that karma doesn’t come back and bite her in the ass.

ConservativeMom on August 20, 2013 at 5:22 PM

As a kid I worked in a State mental hospital remodeling for two years.
The people who work there are angels. It is to bad this lady doesn’t know enough to be embarrassed by her statement. The actual mentally and physically handicapped are truly worth our care.

CW20 on August 20, 2013 at 5:31 PM

That is an evil letter.

I am thinking the same thing. If it came from a printer, they can ID which printer from the yellow dot code on it.

It looks like a gated community, and as you were saying, disturbing the peace… I wonder what kinds of special codes the community has and am wondering if some people were complaining and this is a way to silence them?

astonerii on August 20, 2013 at 6:23 PM

All-cap WORD every so often. Liberal use of repeated EXCLAMATION points!!!!! Advocating for euthanasia and body parts to the God of science!. I’ve seen this type of writing before.

forest on August 20, 2013 at 6:37 PM

It should be pretty easy to figure out who wrote it, being the “noises” have to be within a square block.

In my neighborhood – you knew exactly who and what everyone was. An odd car was noticed as either “new/visiting or lost” in about 3 seconds.

Keep the community support up for this family – and its a matter of time before people start putting 2 and 2 together. Then the social fun can begin. Unfortunately – if she really does have children – they may get the wrong end of “mommy Dearest’s” ire.

Odie1941 on August 20, 2013 at 7:06 PM

This was cruel on so many levels. The writer put into words the fears all parents of disabled children have regarding who will take care of them after they are gone.
The writer could have taken the opportunity and used it to teach his/her own kids a lesson in compassion.

That poor family must live next door to Drywall.

Laura in Maryland on August 20, 2013 at 8:17 PM

Listened to Glenn tell the story, then read this letter on the radio, yesterday.

I wonder if the author belongs to the “Aryan Nations”?

listens2glenn on August 20, 2013 at 8:46 PM

Eh, I am still wondering if they ruled out the grandmother’s printer first? Until they do that, I am sticking with this being about as likely real as all the nooses on campus’s.

astonerii on August 20, 2013 at 9:28 PM

I called shenanigans days ago when I first saw it on facechimp. Basically a bunch of, “LOOK WHAT WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH!!!!1111!!!!!! FEEL SORRY FOR US!!!”

It’s way too over-the-top.

LickyLicky on August 20, 2013 at 10:09 PM

At 1:28 in the vid…maybe you don’t show the kid reaching down his shorts if you want to be on the news today, mkay?

While I don’t condone the letter or its contents, I also don’t see what the big deal is. There are insensitive jerks all over the place…that’s not a crime. Although this is Canada, so freedom of speech’s mileage may varyhas varied.

James on August 20, 2013 at 10:15 PM

LickyLicky on August 20, 2013 at 10:09 PM

Eh, mine is that someone started complaining about the noise. The neighborhood ordinance was going to make her quiet down. She took matters into her own hands and wrote the letter to… do what you say…

astonerii on August 20, 2013 at 10:15 PM

The child is a white male.

Who hates children, whites, and males?

jaime on August 20, 2013 at 10:25 PM

Guys, this is typical for pro-abortion/eugenics types.

They see disabled people as “parasites” who should be exterminated. It’s called being “progressive.”

Autism isn’t a mental illness. I’m on the autistic spectrum-and am most assuredly NOT ‘mentally ill’. To refer to autism as a MI is not only highly offensive-it’s not accurate. Autism is a communication disorder. Period. There are non-verbal autistic that are BRILLIANT.
In my case-my Asperger’s doesn’t even rise to the level of ‘disorder’. It’s a quirk-nothing more. I’m almost 43. At my age-I’ll be as quirky as I wanna be.

annoyinglittletwerp on August 21, 2013 at 1:27 AM

Ironically, whomever wrote that has a screw loose. So… will she be voluntarily composting herself?

Karmashock on August 21, 2013 at 3:52 AM

Like others on this thread have hinted at, I wonder if the family itself is behind this. The letter seems a little convenient and contrived, and they of course went straight to the public with, while most would probably just throw it away.

How hard could it be to locate the sender, if they live close enough to be hear and be driven up a wall by the noises this teenager makes?

To what end? Buy the kid drum kit and forget about the letter and the loser that wrote it.

You do not much care about property rights much do you? I hope one of your neighbors knows who you are, and follows your advice, and then holds you to not calling the police when they make your home unlivable.
