Endangered Dem Senator: I just noticed Obama’s ‘hard-left’ agenda

posted at 11:47 am on August 20, 2013 by

Translation: Please re-elect me, Arkansas.  Nice try, Senator:

But Pryor acknowledges that Obama ‘doesn’t connect well’ with Arkansans. ‘I think that President Obama has in some ways what you would think of as a hard-left agenda in various ways, and that agenda is not popular in our state,’ Pryor said, riding in the backseat of an aide’s pickup. ‘And a lot of that agenda I don’t support.’

That’s a debatable assertion, but you know who’s undeniably on board with O’s agenda?  Harry Reid.  And every vote for Mark Pryor is a vote to keep Reid, Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin in charge of the Senate.  Even Pryor’s marginal usefulness as a check on the ‘hard-left’ may soon be wiped away along with the filibuster.  Beyond all that, let’s face it: When push comes to shove and the chips are down, Pryor votes with Team Blue, with no regrets. Conservative organization America Rising duly notes his change in tone over time.  Here’s Mark Pryor, Democratic partisan, experiencing a Hopenchange leg thrill back in 2008, when the GOP couldn’t even field a serious Senate candidate in Arkansas:

Now that he’s roughly one year removed from having to face this electorate, Pryor’s taken to criticizing the “hard-left” and equivocating like this:

Asked If He Approved Or Disapproved Of The President’s Performance In Office, Pryor Took A Long Pause And Said, ‘I Would Say, ‘Is There Another Option There?’’

Subtle.

Arkansas, only you can cure your Pryor condition.

Guy,

I guess making this senator vote to fund obamacare wouldn’t help the gop in any way. Right?

Ha!

Obamacare makes your Pryor condition worse.

HotAirian on August 20, 2013 at 12:04 PM

Arkansas, flush Pryor and disown the Clintons.

SpiderMike on August 20, 2013 at 12:29 PM

IF he had spoken the truth:
I’ve just noticed that most people really don’t like Obama’s hard left agenda, and since that might hurt MY re-election, I need to appear to move away from it…..”

good one, just forcing a vote will cause the GOP to lose 5 seats because its just so political and mean and everything

You idiot someone’s shooting at you!

Hang Obama around this loser’s neck like a millstone and throw him off the USS Senate.

Seriously! I just got back from a week of camping in Hot Springs. Did you know that our tax dollars made the springs in Hot Springs a National Park? I was so disgusted I refused to go. Some of the shops downtown had mini shrines to the Clintons. Barf!

This will be the only case in history where obozocare helped get rid of someone’s Pryor condition.

McCain faked being against 0bama but only in his primary.

jukin3 on August 20, 2013 at 1:37 PM

Gee, after watching this guy’s heart-felt candor, you wonder why people think politicians are self-serving, lying, frauds….

Marxism is for dummies on August 20, 2013 at 1:41 PM

Maybe he should say “I was for Obama before I was against him” or some such turd….

Marxism is for dummies on August 20, 2013 at 1:42 PM

Pryor just keeps writing Tom Cotton’s attack ads for him.

Asked If He Approved Or Disapproved Of The President’s Performance In Office, Pryor Took A Long Pause And Said, ‘I Would Say, ‘Is There Another Option There?’’

No, there isn’t. You’re asking voters whether they approve or disapprove of your performance in office.

Make a stand. Or go home. Preferably both.

Chris of Rights on August 20, 2013 at 1:53 PM

Who’s running against him?

hrh40 on August 20, 2013 at 2:02 PM

Arkansas you still owe us for the Clintons. You can make it up by ousting this d bag.

neyney on August 20, 2013 at 2:15 PM

I just noticed Obama’s ‘hard-left’ agenda…

…and I supported about 95% of it. Ooops, or something – wink-wink.

Asked If He Approved Or Disapproved Of The President’s Performance In Office, Pryor Took A Long Pause And Said, ‘I Would Say, ‘Is There Another Option There?’’

Translation: I’m not going to answer that question. And I hope the stupid gullible low-info ‘independent’ voters in Arkansas who voted for me before won’t notice.

farsighted on August 20, 2013 at 2:20 PM

Arkansas. Just a bunch of rubes who don’t know better. The state is rife with corruption. Case in point: Tyson Chicken.

HiJack on August 20, 2013 at 2:34 PM

When, exactly, did Pryor vote against cloture when Reid was for it?

Steve Eggleston on August 20, 2013 at 2:53 PM

Continuing the point, except when Dingy Harry was playing parliamentary tricks, when exactly were he and Pryor on opposite sides of a cloture vote? Follow-up – when Dingy Harry was forced to vote against cloture so he could bring cloture back later, was he ever joined by Pryor?

Steve Eggleston on August 20, 2013 at 2:57 PM

Too late DIM WIT

Find a Conservative Tea Partier who wants to rescue Constitutional America, AR, and toss this individual on the ash heap.

exodus2011 on August 20, 2013 at 3:12 PM

How many votes has this guy actually made for him to back up his claim that he is opposed to most of the hard left agenda?
It’s easy to say you’re opposed when you don’t actually have to vote on it?

dverplank on August 20, 2013 at 4:22 PM

This guy suddenly criticizes the “hard left” aspects of his party agenda, just as McCain suddenly became concerned about unrestricted illegal immigration last go around for him. They’re both insincere, which raises the question of why they would prefer to be reelected lying to people than to simply and honestly go on about the business of their lives. Very weird.

Republican Rep. Tom Cotton is running against Democrat Senator Mark Pryor in the 2014 election for the Arkansas Senate seat.

You can learn more about Rep. Tom Cotton at his campaign website:

https://www.tomcotton.com/

If you like what you see on Tom Cotton’s campaign website, help to spread the word about his campaign.

Rep. Tom Cotton gave a very impressive interview on one of the Sunday shows several months ago. It made me add him to my list of articulate Republican politicians who have the potential to go far.

Clean the House and the Senate in 2014!
