And it’s pretty terrific. Patrick, in case it’s not clear, has leukemia.

Yikes! He looks like Vader unmasked at the end of Return of the Jedi.

Put a sock on it.

rickv404 on July 24, 2013 at 4:48 PM

This is beyond cool. Eff the haters.

A reminder: GB41 lost a 3 year old daughter to leukemia. Her name was Robin. This is a very sweet and touching gesture on his part.

joejm65 on July 24, 2013 at 5:27 PM

Double yep.

Like him, or hate him, the man has class that lefty’s, and some righty’s apparently will never have.

You know, actually he does – lol. And he’s awesome for having it done.

I love this man. But that photo sucks. Why? We can’t see the President’s socks. Terrible cropping job to be honest.

What a classy guy..say what you want about the Bush family but they are good, decent people..I admire that about them

sadsushi on July 24, 2013 at 7:08 PM

George Bush has always been a classy guy. Very sincere. What you say is what you got.

NavyMustang on July 24, 2013 at 7:09 PM

Good man, just like his son.

RedNewEnglander on July 24, 2013 at 7:20 PM

love that! Did you hear that the new royal baby is named George as well. Or George W (Windsor) if you want to be particular!!

txmomof6 on July 24, 2013 at 7:27 PM

Don’t forget, a naval aviator in WWII as well.

“I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: ‘I served in the United States Navy.’”John F. Kennedy

Class Act.

Kudos to the usual suspects for leaving this mini-thread to the people who like and respect our 41st President for his many accomplishments and kind heart. As has been noted above, a child with leukemia must be particularly affecting for him.

Even if he does look like Darth Vader without the helmet in that photo. Plus, no socks.

Nice … A very nice display of simple, affectionate loyalty.

M240H on July 24, 2013 at 10:02 PM

My affection for 41 increases all the time. 43, too. I may not have agreed with everything they did as politicians, but as men, I think they are the greatest.

Missy on July 24, 2013 at 10:57 PM

This is class.
I pray the child has a long, long life and gets to show his grand kids this picture when he is President of the United States.

Yeah, the Vader resemblance is uncanny.

Exactly what my eyes searched for after seeing the head. The socks! Long live Patrick! Long live Mr. Bush!

Yes, they are great for having Democrats succeed them. Nothing else.

I have a good friend that lost a wife to cancer. While she was going through chemo he and the children all shaved their heads in solidarity with her. I think that for family and even friends to do so as a sign of support is more common than we may think.
